Conventions / Upstate New York - Cloud City Comics Holiday Sale
« on: December 3, 2010, 09:10 AM »
Huge Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Simpson’s and Comic Sale

My local comic shop, Cloud City Comics & Toys, recently acquired a rather large Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Simpsons collection to provide Holiday gifts for its customers.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday (December 3rd, 4th and 5th), Cloud City is having a huge sale to help get these items in the hands of collectors before Christmas.

I personally know the collector whom sold this collection and he was a MOC completist with pretty much every variant you could want (i.e. EP1 Anakin Naboo with or without New Sticker, AOTC with or without inserts, Force Battlers with Sabers on Left vs Right).  There are Star Wars figures from the POFT2 line all the way through the first Clone Wars/Saga waves; Galactic Heroes through about 2006 including playsets (some as recent as 2009); Midsized Vehicles (B-Wing, Jedi Star Fighters, etc.), 12” Line; All the exclusives, box sets, mail aways from this time range; Titanium Vehicles, Role Play Weapons.  You want it, it is there.

The LOTR and Simpsons line are very impressive as well; all complete and all in great shape.

Here are some of the Sale details:

-   20% Off ALL Toys and Statues;
-   Back Issues 50% Off;
-   Graphic Novels 30% Off;
-   Normal $1 Comics are 3 for $1;
-   Normal $10 Comics are 3 for $10; and
-   Everything Else is 20% Off.

Plus, for every $5 you spend you will get a raffle ticket for a prize drawing on Sunday for convention swag, signed comics, etc.

It is first come first serve, so try and get there early; you will not be disappointed.

Location:

Cloud City Comics & Toys
3216 Erie Boulevard East
Syracuse, NY 13214-1204

(315) 449-0880

It is worth the drive (an hour for me).

Finally, Finally, Finally ... they have extended it to TWO DAYS!!! November 1st and 2nd

For those of you in NY, there is a great convention (especially for those who can't travel to SDCC, Celebrations, etc.) and it keeps growing.

This years key Star Wars guest is the one and only Tom Hodges.  Many of you have seen his online webstrips setting the stage for the weekly serial Clone Wars on Cartoon Network.  I have been asking (read - begging) for him to come for years, and finaly the promoters have listened.

GUEST OF HONOR - ROGER STERN - While Mr. Stern will be returning to AMAZING SPIDER-MAN this December, he is legendary among creators and fans alike.
His writing credits include The Avengers, Captain America, and the Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom graphic novel, and Mr. Stern is responsible for the co-creation of Hobgoblin.

Plus MANY, MANY other great Artists and Stars:

- KANE HODDER actor "Jason" from FRIDAY THE 13TH

- ALVIN LEE artist: STREET FIGHTER, AGENT X, MARVEL MANGAVERSE, HEROES FOR HIRE

- ALEX MILNE artist: TRANSFORMERS

- LARRY KENNEY Voice of LION-O from the classic Thundercats animated series

- ART BALTAZAR artist:TINY TITANS, PATRICK THE WOLFBOY

- JEFF LEMIRE artist/writer/creator: ESSEX COUNTY

- JOHN HEBERT artist: X-MEN ADVENTURES, DEATHLOK, CAPTAIN ACTION

- MICHAEL KINGSTON writer: HEADLOCKED

More to be announced.

Check out the site at http://www.syracuseheroesexpo.com

Tickets are very reasonable and the site is easily accessible from PA, CA and NYC (right off the Thruway).

This truly is a great event for Anime, Horror, Comic and Star Wars fans. Very well runa and fan friendly. You will not be dissapointed.

Last year was the first year and they had Ray Park (Darth Maul). Prices were very reasonable and everyone got to meet him. It is growing every year but it truly is fan friendly. This was the first con I have ever been able to go to and I will go back every year.

Check out the site and save the date.

I know that some of the other members may be interested in this as it is not every day that our area (Central NY) gets this type of appearance, so I wanted to pass it along.

Anyone interested can get information from this website http://www.syracuseheroesexpo.com/

Newbies / Hi, im nack5811 and I'm a MOC aholic ;D
« on: July 15, 2003, 01:12 PM »
I'm new to these forums.  I have to say that thus far I am very impresses withthe staff, forum members, and site info.  There are some great people here helping me out and I have only been posting forums for... well today.

A Little bit about me:
Im 23, been supporting myself since I was 16, going to law school (just finished my first year - thank God), I am getting married in 2 1/2 weeks (Aug 2nd) to my lovely fiancee/wife/girlfriend of 7 years (yes- highschool sweethearts), I am a MOC completist purely 3 3/4 inch collector.  But if there is something that blows my socks off I will get it but the price has to be right.  I collect movie posters (because I work at the theaters and because they are fn cool).  I have a pekingese named Fuzz and many fish and a turtle ;D . Not that you needed to know but hey that is what this for is for.

I look forward to posting regularly and hopefully making many trades when I can.

Vintage Kenner / droid factory
« on: July 15, 2003, 10:01 AM »
I thought this would be a good place to get some feedback.  I know little about the vintage line so i need some help.  I have been collecting since i was 15 (1995) but heavily from 1999 on.  My mother always looks for SW stuff at garage sales and I have never really gotten into the vintage because I dont have the money.  I saw my mom this past weekend because I am getting married in 2 weeks and we had wedding planning to do.  She tells me "I picked up some SW stuff at a garage sale if you want them.  I got a 3D puzzle and something else."  She couldnt remember so she said she would call me.  Well she called yesterday and sai she got a 3d puzzle of the millenium falcon and a "Droid Factory."  Now I know she wouldn't have known it was SW unless it was in a box marked SW so I am hoping it is a vintage droid factory inthe box.  I dont have more right now on the condition or pieces but I will post back soon when I go back this weekend to see her.  If anyone knows what the droid factory looks like or if there were later editions such as POTF2 etc please let me know.  Also, if you have links to pictures and info that would be great.

Thank you all
