2022 TVC Wave 5 (New TVC Wave 26)

I bought the case.  Here's the assortment.  And it really does annoy me to no end that Hasbro will let the online retailers list the case for sale, but only reveal 2 of the characters in it.

Seriously?  The two characters revealed in the case are only 1 per case.  Including the Mando with troop building potential?  FFS.

I was originally considering ordering 2 cases, but since I have no idea about the identity of the remaining 6 figures in the case I wasn't going to do that.  This checkout was brutal as is.

I ordered the case off EE using the link on the main JD page.  I thought the two Stormtroopers were part of that case, but apparently they're solo releases?  I added one of each along with the case.  Hoping EE takes better care of them than what I've received from Amazon or Walmart.

The condition of what I've been getting from EE is infinitely better than Walmart.  Amazon seems a bit better, but not if you're a MOMC collector.

I think we're probably going to see a significant improvement in the condition of the cards.  Especially since the cardstock seems to have been beefed up beginning with the reissue wave that's just making its way out to US customers now.

Images leaked of what appear to be the other 3 figures in this wave from a TVC Boba Fett - Morak cardback.  And if supposition is correct, the TBD figures in the case are from the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series.  That Boba Fett is supposed to hit next month, IIRC.  So for once it seems like the reveal schedule might be close to being back on time.  And we can probably expect these to be officially revealed in one of the Obi-Wan Wednesday posts on The Official Site.

That doesn't appear to be the case.  There's a video on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel where Emily opened up a sample and showed off the figure.  It sounds like this one was built from the ground up.  It's got the lightsaber as well as the unlit hilt, and interchangeable hands.  And if there was a removable helmet that would have been one of the first things she showed.

I wouldn't discount that train of thought.  In the video Emily said that this Vader was the first all-new effort on Darth Vader that they had done in 10+ years.  Previous releases, like the ROGUE ONE Vader, were based on previous sculpts.  When Hasbro made that 500th edition Darth Vader they kept on cranking out Vader releases based on that figure for years to follow.
