What a shame that these couldn't be executed as Screen Scenes. They could have given us the rounded bar end plus some inside machines and kegs, along with figures.
I'd actually be happy to see a few of the Holiday Special cantina guys added in there too. Well, not Bea Arthur. 8)

Yeah, it's definitely been too long on the Cantina patrons... What gives?! >:( Who was the last one we got? Djas Puhr? Hell, that was way over a year ago. This has really become probably the most under-utilized section of the Saga by Hasbro, which is totally confounding to me since it's got such a great array of interesting alien characters to choose from still. Obviously a proper Cantina playset is way overdue as well! :'( As for the figures, I definitely agree with Scott's "priority" choices here:

Yeah, I'm starting to agree with you Brad. This guy's a little off his rocker. A ban, or at least a lengthy suspension, is probably in order for this clown, for shamelessly promoting one of the darkest moments in Star Wars history.

I sure hope we get some of those cantina things listed above. I am starting to think we may not and that would suck. Hopefully 1 of the screen scenes will be 3 brand new figures and the other will be the Cantina Wave 2 figs.

Nice, that's very exciting to see. It's a bit odd that its literally the 3 WM packs jammed into a scene, but like you said, its a mock-up. I wonder if the 2nd set would have some rehashes, since that seems to be the idea with the TRU Jedi Council sets. Obviously it would be nice to get all-new figures and the "U" of the bar, of course.

Yeah, I think it's definitely time for a new wave of cantina patrons. My way of doing it would be for two more Tatooine waves, mixing characters from the prequels too though. Perhaps each wave would have four new figures and be something like this:
WAVE 1
- CZ Droid X3
- Hem Dazon X3
- Tonnika Sister #1 X3
- Graga (TPM Mos Espa Merchant) X3
WAVE 2
- Myo the Cyclops X3
- Hrcheck Kal Fas X3
- Tonnika Sister #2 X3
- Bib Fortuna (TPM Podrace) X3
The Tonnika sisters would just be simple repaints in the color variation of the outfit to save Hasbro their hard earned money. ;)

Well yikes, RS is reporting that the Cantina set may now be a Kmart exclusive. ??? We're fortunate to have quite a few left here in CA, but it would still be a nightmare. How's everyone elses Kmart preparedness?

Yeah, I'm kind of hoping that this news isn't true...as far as being a K-Mart exclusive (although, that is better than not getting it at all). There is one K-Mart somewhat close to us, but it has always been a wasteland in the toy section. I haven't visited it for over a year, because they rarely had anything...it was out of the way for us...and the prices were always higher. Last time (and only times I think) that I bought something there was the 300th Boba Fett way back when....and then I found a Jedi Starfighter a few weeks earlier than they were supposed to be out in 2002 and was excited for some Episode II stuff, so I picked it up. Anyways, I'm not too crazy about K-Mart getting this, but I guess it is better than nothing. I've enjoyed Target having many of the exclusives, I think I have at least seen every single one so far this year.

I have 3 I relatively nearby, but the likelihood of finding them there would have to be slim, even if I somehow managed to beat all the other fans in the area to the stores each day.

What ever happened to that rumor about K-Mart getting 2 Cantina 3-packs?
We've seen the TRU Jedi Council Scenes, but what about the Cantina ones? Did K-Mart drop them? Was the whole thing made up by YakFace?

GH had kind of hinted at it being bogus in one of their Swami reports
Although they also did say in another that 2 3-packs were coming out...
Not sure if they thought the box was bogus and it should have been like the other screen scenes or that the whole thing was scrapped :-\

Hasbro does plan on releasing a Cantina Aliens 3 pack in OTC packaging. While Swami is not 100% certain if Big H will include figures such as Kitik Keed'kak and Dr. Evazon in this new assortment, he'll bet his turban that this will be the case. The 3 packs will come in 2 sets.
Sounds to me like the Swami was on board... did it get conflicted elsewhere? Maybe we have yet to see it just like a lot of other stuff in that Swami report?

I don't care how the hell they get new Cantina aliens out to us, just as long as they finally do! I'm perfectly happy getting that mockup Screen Scene with the bar, and Kitik, Wuher and Evezan. Of course I'd love another Screen Scene with the Distillery and U-shaped end portions of the bar. That would be a Godsend! Since Hasbro finally wised up on the middle flooring sections for the Jedi Council, maybe they'll surprise us, and show us that they "get it" now, and will finally complete the rest of the bar for us to make a nice playset/diorama out of... 8)
I'd probably prefer any new Cantina aliens to come on basic (single) cards though, just 'cause carded figures usually get better treatment quality wise, than the ones that come in the various 3-pack Cinema/Screen Scene types of packaging.
Perfect world:
- Screen Scene 1: 3 more bar pieces, with Kitik, Evezan and Bannis Keeg
- Screen Scene 2: Distillery and U-shaped end sections, with Wuher, Dannik Jerikko, and Myo
- Regular themed wave of carded figures, including Hem Dazon, Gotal, Bom Vimdin, Givins, and Brainiac
Do that, and I will be happy to forgive all prior transgressions on Hasbro's part. ;)

Cool stuff, I have a set and I haven't been too upset that I paid the $30 for them back then even with this announcement I'm glad those of you that don't have them can pick them up. If it means that K-mArt will be getting more exclusives down the line even better.

I usually stay away from K-Mart, but this will actually give me an excuse to go into the Oakdale Big K on my way home from (or on my way to) work everyday.
I wonder what they'll charge... $20? $25? $30?

I'm glad these made it. It's sort of funny that an ex-Walmart exclusive has landed at Kmart. I'm also still a bit jealous of you guys that got the carded Saga ones. >:(
Has Kmart ever had an exclusive before? There's one right by me but I'm wondering if this is going to be a challenge to find for a lot of people since they've closed so many stores. This should be interesting.

K-Mart has had many Hasbro exclusives before (Transformers, BeyBlade, GI Joe), but this is the first Star WArs one to stick I think...
Back in the days of Episode 2, K-Mart was originally going to carry the Obi-Wan and Jedi Starfighter exclusive along with a Jango Pilot plus Slave 1 exclusive, but K-Mart dropped them thanks to the onset of bankruptcy hearings and Hasbro's unwillingness to extend K-Marts credit.
K-Mart couldn't pay for them, so Hasbro dropped them. The Obi-Wan set, having already made it to production was sold through KB Toys, but the Jango Pilot Slave 1 set was scrapped.
So, K-Mart has had exclusives before, but nothing this HOT before... these should sell very well for K-Mart.

I'd love to see just retooled things with new heads/hands sometimes. Not even brand new or entirely accurate, but just filler for a Cantina diorama.
As it stands, Jesus, some Indiana Jones guys, XD guys, and EU figures are stand-ins in my cantina. :(
Anyway, I for one am pleased with the 3-pack coming, though it coulda been cooler had they redone some things...
-Evazan's arms coulda used a redo, or at least new poseable hands so they could pack in the realistic version of his blaster that Bo Shek had. A holster on his hip woulda been nice too then.

A "new" Cantina set's not entirely out of the question I think, but unlikely I suppose. :( Still I'd love to see some redone figures at some point... Hell, I'd even take a set with a VOTC Obi packed in. :)

You know, the thought of a repaint set with a "live" Obi-Wan and a blue Snaggletooth would be pretty nifty, all things rehash considered.

K-MART?!?!?! WTF? All of the K-Marts around here closed years ago! There aren't any within an hour-and-a-half drive from here! Looks like I'll be either skipping these, or resorting to eBay... :( >:(

I'm going to ATTEMPT to get an extra set or two for people, and I'm sure everyone else who can will. KM's still a powerhouse here (Well, maybe not a powerhouse, but there's closer KM's to me than WM's or Target stores).
I'll see what I can do for people, as I'm sure others will as well.

Yep, a blue Zutton, rehashed Cantina Bar Set Ponda Baba, and rehashed Freeze Frame Obi-Wan. 3 more straight bar sets, no U part. Basically 24.99 for a little blue alien.
I was fortunate enough to have Colman looking over my shoulder as I opened the image for the first time. Priceless. Be on the lookout for D-FENS at ComiCon, I don't think he's too happy about this. ;)

Blue Snaggletooth fits in well with the vintage line theme. Ben = eh, but I don't mind that one. Walrus man = ugh.

HORRIBLE idea. I like the idea of the Blue Snaggletooth, but isn't he more a single-carded exclusive, say at the SW Shop? And didn't I buy these figs already? Twice even?

I've been planning my own custom Blue Snag... So I'm mixed.
Theirs is sorta crappy compared t what I had planned, not to toot my horn. :-\ I was gonna use Takeel's head for a more vinty look and cast some of the vinty figure's parts for authenticity, but use Zutton's body which is waht the original was based on.
Now... Theirs is ok, but I think I'm still gonna make mine since they'll look dramatically different, yet oddly similar.
The Ponda Baba though... [Eric Cartman] Come on here Hasbro, you're breaking my balls [/Eric Cartman]
And the Obi's just as bad. At SDCC he's pictured as the freaking POTF2 figure, seriously, and Hasbro's more "official" shot has the Flashback figure which isn't even accurate (had his hood down in the sequence). Dare I say I'd almost rather have had a Tatooine Luke? :)
If I had to pick though, and had to stick to Hasbro's "head up your ass" standard, I'd go with 2 of the 3-pack Aliens and just paint them better... Added leg articulation even optional, but like Nabrun Leids and Labria with cooler paintjobs wuld've been nice.
Dan Curto and myself have both mentioned how EXTREMELY nice a Bannis Keeg Kitbashed figure would've been though, and not cost Hasbro a dime to make more than it will to rehash and Obi and Ponda. And people would've actually said "hey, thanks Hasbro!" instead of moans of hatred to boot!

Hmmm...
Lots of chatter around the net regarding the rumors of a possible third Cantina Set. The rumors seem to fall into two possibilities:
1 - Set 3 w/Rounded Bar Section and Hammerhead, Djas Purh, and Lak Sivrak?
2 - Set 3 w/Rounded Bar Section and Luke Skywalker, BoShek, and Chewbacca?
I don't know how much stock I put in these as they seem to be more fan-boy rumblings and not based in any fact I can discern, but it'd be pretty lame to have to buy Luke, BoShek and Chewie to get that bar center >:(
Maybe we'll hear something at the Q&A session? :-\
