Dale, if it's any consolation, I watched the game last night and Edmonton should've won. Pucks were ringing off the Shark's bar so often it sounded like a casino. The Oilers did everything right last night, but sometimes even that doesn't mean a win or point.

Bounty Select-A-Size.

What!?  You don't like the Bounty brand of this or SAS in general?  Having kids, we would be in the poor house without SAS paper towels (though Target brand is the best value).

I was thinking the exact same thing. Select-a-size is awesome for families with kids, especially those with just two kids that want everything the same as one another. Tearing a full-size sheet into two exactly equal sheets is nearly impossible and could possibly be the most frustratingly futile activity known to man. Preschoolers can see the difference, believe me. I don't care what they cost, select-a-size is a staple in our household.

I totally agree with Jesse; they hardly show any actual sci-fi anyway, so changing the name may be a way of distancing them from their original intent (ala TNN to Spike).

I did think their little self-promotion spots were clever, when they asked "What if?" and "if" was part of Scifi. Guess they can't do those any more.

Caught a real good flick this weekend through Netflix - Let the Right One In. I wasn't expecting much, since it's described as a Swedish vampire film, but it went above and beyond. It's moody, surreal, and even touching, with a little hint of gruesome. The two 12-year-old leads are outstanding. Definitely worthy of a look-see.

After having stared at it for several minutes, the only thing I conclude is that she's cold.

Nice win by the Sharks last night over the Bruins. I'm glad it was on Versus, so more people outside the West Coast can see how good the Sharks are. Marleau is an absolute stud.

I caught This is England on the XBox today. It's a great film and is somewhat like an English version of American History X. I think Thomas Turgoose, the kid who plays the lead role, did a fantastic job. The final shot is perfect, and very reminscent of Truffaut's The 400 Blows.

Added to queue!  :)

Of course, my queue is 170 movies long, so it might be a while 'til I get to see it, but at least it's there and I won't forget to add it.

Finally got out of the house to the Arena to take in a Sharks game last night. That's one scary-good team. Four goals in the first, then they just sort of set the cruise control and waited for the game to finish at 5-2. They are quick as lightning, big as anything and their defense just swarms and suffocates. I heard that with last night's win they'd tied the 1944-45 Canadiens for the best start after 25 games (43 points). Still, it's not the playoffs, but it's fun to watch. Now I just need to get out to see more games.
