Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A thread about concerts.
« on: April 7, 2012, 03:28 PM »
Went to see a double double bill last night: Confession / Miss May I / The Ghost Inside / Parkway Drive. Or Driveway Park. Drivepark Way? Drivethrough Penalty? I dunno. Pretty cool though, wish Miss May I were higher on the bill, so they could've played longer than 30 mins.

Great to have the show back and perfect timing now that TWD S2 is over :D

Thanks guys. I like that idea for Novoc's dreads, Ryan, will give it a shot once I start working on the mini dio with his son :)

Great work again, SH! Love the diversity and your paint apps have always been held in high regard by me. Hard to pick favourites, but the female Grand Admiral, Ewok Elder and Tat Argota are really the ones who stand out the most imho :D

Thanks Paul  ;D

Here's my second version of Master Ven Zallow, well known from the "Deceived" trailer. The parts are the same as the first one, but on the commissioner's request I made the armour a lighter shade of green. I sculpted the hair a bit differently as well this time.

In case you have missed my first version, here's a shot of him again:

Let me know what you think, always appreciated!

This has been a long term project and my first ever Transformers custom. Many customizers start out with repainting a Transformer, but silly me just had to jump right in and start a reshell project  ::)

The idea was to make this Bumblebee a birthday gift for my brother, who's a big TF fan and happens to own one damn cool Mini One, with chequered roof and mirrors, matt black rims, white racing stripes on the hood and a nifty #53 on the doors.

I was inspired by a fellow ProCustomizers.com member called Jazzman26, who is very talented at making Transformers reshell projects. While I was off to a flying start, I feel I kind of stranded in sight of the finish line. I had to abandon the transforming process, because of room issues in the rear wheel wells. That's okay, though, since most Transformers are displayed in bot mode anyway.

Neither did I make the deadline for my brother's birthday, last December.

And in the end I fell short of skills in the decal and airbrushing departments. I just couldn't get the decals nice enough: they're really dark grey and have "ghost" edges. Don't know what it is, but it's something I'll have to keep in mind in the future. And while my Tamiya gloss black went on very smoothly, the gloss varnish has this fine sandpaper like structure :(

Still, it clearly resembles my brother's Mini Cooper and I hope he'll like it. Despite the setbacks, I had a blast working on a Transformer and I've been stockpiling on those ever since I started this project!

So, here's Bumblebee as a Mini, dubbed "Coop"!

You can see all of the WIP shots on my FB page   :D

Here's a female AT-AT Driver for Tamer from ISY. During the CAFN interview he kind of asked me if I'd be willing to make a custom AT-AT Driver for him. I had this idea of a female driver for a while, so it was a perfect opportunity to make it happen:

Parts used:

- Saga '06 AT-AT Driver: helmet, chest box
- 25th. Lady Jaye: upper body
- 25th. Scarlett: head
- TLC Cesi Doc Edriss (sp?): arms
- ROC Cover Girl: legs
- ROTS AT-TE Driver: shoulder plates
- Marauder Inc.: blaster rifle

More pics on my Facebook page, of course:

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Padme custom restoration

That's a shame man, hope you can restore her to her former glory. The method you used was and is quite sensational.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Mara Jade (version 5)

Like I said before, you keep improving Mara with every new version. And the previous ones were real lookers at that! Great work, bud!

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Master Phruby's Customs Thread
« on: February 9, 2012, 05:47 PM »
That's great seeing these all together, Paul. Do You still customize every now and then?

Yeah, it's intended as a joke, with a hard, critical edge. This is just a taste of what Sau-..... er.... things like SOPA and PIPA could do in the future. Not at all trying to make this into a SOPA discussion, it's just something I thought of earlier this week, with the news evolving around the matter.

Don't worry, a dio like this is actually a 2012 project for me :D If my pictures of copyright protected action figures are still allowed then...

Star Wars Dioramas and Displays / Re: Ewok village BBQ
« on: January 19, 2012, 02:29 PM »
Another great looking dio, Greg and what an awesome background you've made! I used to let my vintage Ewoks have BBQs all the time back in the day  ;D I never owned the vintage Ewok village, but resorted to cardboard and kitchen towel paper rolls instead  ;) And let my imagination do the rest of course.

Star Wars Dioramas and Displays / Wookiee vs. Trandoshan diorama :p
« on: January 19, 2012, 02:27 PM »
I've had this idea of a Wookiee mangling a Trandoshan and recently got around to making this little dio. Hope you guys like it, I had a great time creating these two

The Wookiee:

Made from a ROTS Wookiee Warrior with quite a bit of Fixit sculpt and custom made melee weapon

The hapless Trandoshan:

Made from a VOTC Bossk and 25th. Ann. Wraith parts.

The mini dio:

Let me know what you guys think ;)

Star Wars Universe / Re: Lucas NY Times Interview
« on: January 19, 2012, 02:21 PM »
Exactly, Darby. I too grew up with SW in the 80s, ROTJ being my very first movie on the big screen. In my opinion Lucas has gone insane. With an attitude like this he's turned into a sad little man. And while I do have the various re-releases of the movie, I hardly watch the prequels and the OT I often put on the originals.

Acting like this is really beneath his stature. A big shot like him should have a thicker hide and let our ramblings slide off. If he wants to keep on tinkering with the saga, fine. It really is his right to do so. But generalising our community like that is disrespectful to the fans that give substantial criticism, beyond the "GL raped my childhood" sensus.

I wish him lots of fun with mangling the saga into über perfection (his perfection). Enjoy the rest of your life, George.

Oh, and don't worry, I'll still keep investing in your ego... er... Empire. Each is just as huge as the other, so....
