Kubricks / Series 2
« on: March 19, 2004, 12:25 PM »
I have no idea, but I'm thinking probably $10.00 cheaper shipped than HLJ for a case and $40-50 cheaper for a master case.  Of course it would depend on how many cases we would buy.  Personally I'm getting a master case so I can get the chase figure or figures.  Also I know a few of you live in Canada and the great thing about this would be I could ship them to you for about $7.00 per case letter post air and mark them as a gift so you don't get hit up for fees.  So that would also save you money.

Since there is some time between now and the release of series 3, I am going to try a little project if anyone is interested.  If you are interested in buying a case or master case let me know.  I'm going to try and tally up the total and then work on getting us a quantity discount from a few of my sources.

Just got a phone call as well.  It looks like we won't have the $50.00 gift certificate until after the shop is back up and running.  I guess I will have to find something else to spend the $50.00 on.  I just wanted Kermit, the Greenie, and the Cinemacast Vader.  Unless I get lucky again and just happen to be one of the first to order when it goes back up I will be missing out on the three items I wanted the most.   :(

Hmmmm, wonder how many people are out there with our credit card #'s going hog wild?

"Our eCommerce partner, Analysts International, has assured us that no one’s personal credit card information was compromised."

If this were the case then why is there an issue?   ::)

No.   :(  I could get you one for around $80.00 shipped, but that's not much better than ebay.  If you need it let me know.  Also I have some Marvel series 2 sets of 7 ending on ebay within the hour.  One auction is only at $24.99.  That's only $3.57 per figure.  Let me know if you would like to bid and I could send you the link via PM.

Hey buffet1fan, I did get a very nice score on a set of 5 Back to the Future Kubrick's with Biff today for $15.00 plus shipping on ebay  :o.  Unfortunately I need all five of them.  Keep an eye out as there are sets popping up every now and then.  Also I noticed you registered for Kubrickworld.com, I'm minifig there in case you haven't figured that out yet.   ;)  I'll keep an eye out for an auction with Biff for you.

Do they still have to rocky sets on the tower records website they were 12.99 each and if you bought over twenty dollars you got free shipping.

As OCB stated, they still have them.  That's where I got mine from.  They usually go for $10-15 a set on ebay, but since Tower has free shipping you really can't beat it.

Wal-Mart carries Spawn now? The only McFarlane stuff my local WMs carry are the Sportpicks.

The 500 largest Wal-Marts carry Spawn and a few other McFarlane figures besides sports.  Mine has Spawn and Matrix.  In fact that Sam & Twitch and Raven Spawn 2 are Wal-Mart exclusives.  They did the same thing with series 24.  They had a masked version of Santa and Halloween Spawn.  They also have an exclusive Manga Spawn 2-pack and soon to come out Samurai Spawn and Takeda the archer 2-pack.  The best part is the Spawn figures are $7.73 and the 2-packs are $14.78.  I have heard some say they have Movie Maniacs at Wal-Mart.

Found Spawn 25 Wednesday night at Wal-Mart.  Got the set of 5 and went back Thursday to get a Redeemer, Spawn VIII, and Hellspawn to open.

Kubricks / Re: Kubricks and Minimates

Those Muppet Kubricks do look great.  It was tough to avoid the regular figure line for me as well, but if these weren't too hard to find/pick up...they would be tempting.  When do these start to get released (if anyone knows)...and are there any further details on the line?  I could really see a person getting into being an all-out Kubrick/Minimate collector.  I know I'd like to be able to pick up the Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Muppets, and Batman lines.

Also, I know this is a stupid question...but I'm not very knowledgable on the mini-figs.  Are all the Kubrick figures overseas only (with minimates being the U.S. ones).  I was just curious, as to the availability of the lines (like LOTR, Muppets).  I know that Star Wars is always overseas (or buying them from online retailers).  Thanks!

.......had to add this after actually going back and reading through the Kubricks/Minimates thread here.  I see that DC minimates are going to be available now too?  I was wondering when/if these would be coming out.  Other than the Star Wars kubricks, I'm really tempted by the Lord of the Rings, Batman/Justice League, and maybe the Muppets mini-figures.  I was curious what these cost, or how tough they are to collect?  I know the Kubricks tend to be kind of tough (at least from what I have read here).  Thanks...again :).

You should check out Kubrickworld.com to get a lot of good information about Kubrick's.  There are also a good number of U.S. dealer's of Kubrick's.  There is a links and resources page at Kubrickworld.com and there are links for U.S. and overseas Kubrick retailers.  Kubrick's vary tremendously in their price.  A basic set of the Muppet's will probably be around $5.00 per figure.  I am very biased in the miniature figure collecting realm, as Kubrick's are the priority of my entire collection.  Minimates have plenty of articulation, but the quality cannot compare to Kubrick's.  I was very upset when I found out that LOTR minimates were being made.  I was really hoping for Kubrick's of them.  I do collect a few Mez-Itz, but that is only because they are character's I really like.  I think the quality of Mez-Itz is mediocre.  Hope this is of some help to you.  Also I have some Star Wars series 2 and Marvel series 2 Kubrick's for sale for very good prices if you are interested.
