8-D8 and Salacious Crumb are confirmed to be carded on ROTJ cards in the set.

62
Uhm...I probably am not in on this one.

I have the Jabba from the TRU Rancor set. I have the Boba Fett Throne Room on order. I don't know if I can justify $90 for a railing, 8-D8 and Crumb.

I fully expect a fully newly tooled 8-D8 to get carded on a BOBF card, probably hitting next year, too. If they don't mention him being TVC carded in the set, it's a dead giveaway. They gotta do the Hasbro double dip on the mold.

Images for a wave 2 of ROTJ figures coming in a box set have surfaced.

The 6 figures are Admiral Ackbar, Gamorrean Guard, Emperor's Royal Guard, Wicket, Yak Face (!) and Mon Mothma (!!)

I feel bad for anyone who gets sucked into the Bermuda Triangle of Chris Krahn and wish this guy the best if and when he completes his obligation and shifts it back to TFSB to uphold their self-identified "middleman" role.

I wonder if there is a sort of VP to send things out with Krahn being essentially out of the picture.

It's all Steve Evans. He is championing this line with the tag line "y'know, for KIDS." While we did get the SpiderVerse and GOTG3 movie figures in there, there is a subline of Avengers figures with transforming mechs and an upcoming water-squirting Spider Man subline. Right now there's a range of X-Men 97 figures hitting in the line, too, because Disney+ was supposed to start the new cartoon continuation nowish before it got delayed.

This took the place of the Retro Legends Figures that got put "on hiatus" after the last wave this spring, more or less, spinning the focus to what kids would want to play with, but Steve is a big fan of 3.75" scale and his work with Star Wars and Marvel has borne this out to our benefit time and again. We will see how this one goes.

I got the Vader last week from a friend who ordered a spare and didn't need it.

Found a solo Solo (with crushed bubble but good paint) at one WalMart yesterday, and a solo Weequay at a different WalMart.

With those 3 figures, I don't think I have anything left I am looking for or have preordered with the exception of the Boba Fett Throne Room.

Maybe something will pop up at SDCC that I want.

I am the same way about 3D prints. Last winter Funky McClunkey offered up some Chewie's family prototypes all printed and painted and I jumped at them, but otherwise I don't want to do the paintwork. It's been 20 years since I painted a figure! Edited to add a pic:

Stan Solo updated on FB that the deal with DallasVintageToys for R4 fell through so he is just going to fund it himself. And he seems to be getting uneasy about how many preorders he currently has going...he doesn't want anyone to feel like he is getting ready to cut and run...wonder why people would be antsy about that?

He also said Greedo will likely beat Dagobah Luke out of the factory as the next release.

Both are getting out. Earlier date stamps have no stripe while later ones have it painted. It remains to be seen which one will be more common, but my money is on the no stripe version being the hard to find one in the end.

There has also been a lot of QC issues with the helmets-- both in Waxer's unique tampos but more generally with the consistency of sizing. I have seen some very small deformed ones in pics.

And that anecdote goes exactly to the point that Krahn was scamming the whole time, he was never trying to be careful and thoughtful with his customers. Of course we know Chris Smith was planning the SLC Bantha before he sold the company, and of course we know Chris Krahn was going off of Smith's plans when he started taking money for the project. He could have taken responsibility and been transparent in answering your follow up question by admitting he was having difficulty with the factory or whatever was the issue. But instead he chose to use the switch of company owners to imply you contacted different people, which was most likely not the case, just better than admitting the project was already troubled and giving you reason to ask for your money back.

It was always about keeping the money to him. When the thing wasn't happening in the first six months like he originally thought it would, he had an opportunity to call it off, give everyone their money back or some kind of credit, and be real. He chose to obfuscate and tighten his grip on the money.

In my business dealings with him, after he asked me to create a set to be sold only on TFSB, he "forgot" to cover extra costs on shipping and packaging when paying me for orders received. I called him out on it and he acted insulted that I made him give me the agreed upon amounts. It soured the relationship and I ended it as quickly as I could thereafter. He was always about more money for him.

This end scenario for TFSB has been visible on the horizon for a couple years to me. It still sucks, but ever since they changed the language on their website from pre-order to crowdfunding and acted like it had been that way all along, I felt like the money was already gone. I feel horrible for everyone who lost money to this jerk.

I was much more shocked when GTP imploded and took everyone's preorder money for the Tantive IV set with them. They seemed very solid til they weren't.

Wasn't it Iger and Kennedy who said they learned their lesson about releasing these things too close together after the poor performance of "Solo?" That means take a nearly 7 year break, then release 3 movies in 18 months? Sounds like no lesson learned, and subpar planning as usual.

And how about we get a good script written BEFORE we schedule the movie's premiere? This is all just the same old bad practices still in play, and I have zero interest in assembly-line moviemaking from these characters anymore. Give me something that someone is passionate about as a work of art and/or storytelling, and then we can talk.

So here is a development...

The Fans Strike Back website now shows "sold out" on every product. His most recent communications shunted blame for the unfulfilled Bantha orders to his subcontracted "factory" and claimed the factory had all the money.

He also recently sent out the Stormtrooper Han figure that was a part of the infamous 13...and while I didn't participate in that, I did see that when he invoiced that one figure he did so with language indicating 13 figures. Maybe this was a way to cover his ass as best he could legally if he doesn't get any more figures out there?

Because signs are pointing to his business being finished.

I have seen in hand pictures of the TLC Indy with the tie having been purchased in store. So it's not a whole line problem thus far, but it's been reported a few times already that the ROTLA Indy is showing up on the TLC card (or with the card, since they all also report that the bubble came off in shipping) when preordered from Amazon.

I am concerned about the satchel being missing too, since all photos I have seen have it draped over the figures in the package...and if the wrong Indy is getting slapped into the bubble in the factory, then that satchel might be missing as well.

Mine, ordered from Amazon, can't get here fast enough to resolve the stitch in my side this afternoon! :)

Update: mine just arrived...bubble, tie and satchel all where they were supposed to be. It's puzzling...

74
No tie = not the figure promised. God, this is why I hate buying online...mine is supposed to be here today.

This figure is also supposed to include the satchel. Was there a satchel along with the grail?

I hear the complaints, but I will take this upgrade over the 2006 Endor Han release ( which was itself a kitbash of the 2004 version) they have given us way too many times, and which I really didn't like in 2006 either.

I was trying to take ROTJ pictures last week for the 40th anniversary and was really feeling this figures absence.
