I don't really know if this counts as a clearence or not.  I saw a whole bunch of new 2 packs at Wal-Mart today.  They were the ROTJ and ANH waves together along with some other recent red carded figures.  Some were pretty good combos really.  Luke Jedi/Leia Slave, Chewy Pilot/Han Death Star, Devis/Scanning Crew Member, Jawa and droid with Cantina woman, Giran/Ewoks 2 pack, Nikto Gunner/variant Ugnaught, Padme/Saurin, SBD/Grievous, and some others I can't remember although Nien Numb and Dreslian Commando were among them as well.

Been trying to find a good image without luck, but Halle Berry look absolutely jaw-dropping at the Golden Globes...

The guy actually kept his eyes up instead of down.  Way to go man.

Do we even know if they are going to be repo-cards like the last ones?  Or are they just coming up with something like they did for OTC?  Anyway the figures look good to me.

Luke Bespin - I am surprised they re-did him.  I thought they would round out the Hoth trio and given us Luke Hoth comparable with Leia and Han Solo.  It does look good though.

Leia - Way overdue.  I will definately pick her up.

Dengar - I am not dying for it but will probably get it to complete the SA versions we've gotten lately.

Veers - Well it's nice to have an updated one to go along with the new AT-AT.  I guess he won't be a pack-in with the AT-AT?  I am the least excited for this one.  For one I am ok with the last version.  For another if they are on repo-cards his is probably the lamest.  Just a picture of the AT-AT if I remember correctly?

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Clone Wars Wave 13 (aka 2010 Wave 3)

Yay! Snowy figures are on the way.  I did geek out a bit with that episode.  There are definately some good figures they can make from that one.  Rex definately stands out of course along with the Talz species.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: 2010 Clone Wars Mail-Away - Nahdar Vebb
« on: January 28, 2010, 09:19 AM »
But most of us would be buying 5 figures anyway.  Especially if we are even interested in Nahdar Vebb.  If you are wanting Vebb most likely you can probably think of 5 other figures you want over to over course of the promotional offer.  In the end you are paying for Vebb anyway with the $6.99 check.  Oh well.  I think it's fun to get a figure in the mail every now and then.  It brings me back to the Kenner days as a wee lad back when I walked to school in the snow and......

I just hope the cannons stay on these new ones!  No it looks good.  It will be tempting to buy 2.  Although that idea might change when I see the actual price for the AT-AT  ;D

Yeah, I forgot about Tarkin.  Hell I would even take a Cantina Band member on a vintage cardback.  They will probably opt for ROTJ Vader with Sebastian Shaw head though since it's another Vader figure.  I could go on and on.

I could be wrong but it sounds like a new General Veers over in Scum's thread.  Unless they were just assuming that?  Eh, we'll find out soon enough it sounds like.  Time to start saving the pennies again it sounds like!

I would like a carded Wedge myself.  Although it can be either the Snowspeeder or X-Wing version.  I never ended up buying the new X-Wing with him last year.  Yeah, I would definately like to get a new Dr Evazan and Ponda Baba and Rebel Fleet Trooper.  There is room for Wedge in my opinion though.

Well I am assuming James was supposedly upset because someone had beaten him to the punch in making that type of a special effects movie?  Right?  I hope so at least.  Lucas cracks me up with his "have not been a big fan of 3-D," comment.   Come on B.S. man.  You have been pushing that for years now.  You even admit you have been struggling with it for years.  LOL!  These two guys crack me up with their quotes.  I guess they have the last laugh since they are both worth billions now, but still, the claims they come up with change with the wind.

Oh well Coco gets $30 million to leave and will probably get another $50 mil at some other network.  Poor Conan.  LOL!

Rogue One / Re: The Playset Thread
« on: January 22, 2010, 05:04 PM »
Yep, I have said the same stuff repeatedly as well.  I just don't really get why they can't come up with a decent playset of THE most iconic environment of Star Wars.  I really love Hasbro for making such a wide range of action figures and vehicles over the years.  Why they can't tap into the Death Star is beyond me?  There is plenty of action and screen time.  All of the main characters and troopers and vehicles they have been selling repeatedly for 30 years now interact with each other inside and outside of it.  I think modular would be the logical way to go.  If they are all bent ouf of shape about the price of a single playset I understand that.  So, go the modular route.  If nothing us collectors would be all over it.  I am sure some kiddies would even go for it.  If they make it nice and not crappy like those older POTF2 things.

If they want to jazz it up with action features like cannons and such then come up with something.  You would think a toy company would just be DYING to come up with something cool related to the Death Star.  Honestly I think ever other toy company would shove something out Death Star related if they had the license.  Maybe I am wrong but if GI JOE can get a mobile playset they can do something with the Death Star.  The company that made the Star Trek toys even has a Beam Me Up (sorry I don't know the correct term) playset environment.  Granted it looks dull as hell but you know that most environments or rooms in the Death Star are a bit more action oriented and would probably do better.

But that's my opinion.  I just think it's a shame we don't have something great involving the Death Star by now.  At least Kenner had that vintage Death Star playset that I am sure a lot of us had.  Hell they could even do something like that and just break it down into 3 seperate sets that either stack upon each other or side by side, whatever.

Ok, I am done now.  LOL!

The Legacy Collection / Re: Resurgence of the Jedi Battle Pack
« on: January 22, 2010, 04:51 PM »
There were a bunch of these packs at a TRU in my are the past 2 weeks along with Gelagrub/Clonetrooper and Endor pack.  They really have not moved that much.  I had to get this pack for Luke.  The R2 repaint of (can't remember that astromech droid's number from a few year's back?) is pretty nice.  I even like the C-3PO and the different posed Leia hologram.  Kenobi is a cool figure that I can pose in another scene.

Yeah, I guess in the end I bought 3 figures I already have and the table.  Hell I have bought the same figures in one way or another for almost 30 years nows.  So for me it was still worth it.  I am happy with all the figures at least.

I have to admit I am dreading the price on this one.  They already had the AT-ATs jacked up pretty high the last time they were out.  I think that was the Endor painted version correct?  Now they are talking about it being 3 ft tall and can hold 6 figs in the head along with a speeder bike packed in the back somewhere.  Yowzers!  But in the end if it floors me I will probably get it someway.  Just like the Falcon and AT-TE.  I will break down and get it.  I may get it just soley for a chance to reinact Luke taking down the AT-TE.  That was one of my fav scenes from ESB when I was a kid.  My kid likes that part as well.  Even though sadly from time to time he asks me who that "guy" is  :(

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Conan to Replace Leno in 2009!!!!
« on: January 14, 2010, 08:12 PM »
I actually like Leno.  The only problem I have with his show is that it's basically the same stuff over and over.  The Headlines and Jaywalking has been done to death now. If I tune it's kind of funny but we have seen now for two decades.  I am kind of surprised they are screwing over Conan like they are.  He'll end up doing fine elsewhere.  I would almost like to see him go to a cable channel since there would not be as much restrictions on what he could do.
