[totally sarcastic; don't ban me] Way to go Dressel, you ****, you've obviously scared Force Guy off.

****.

Plus these ****** gas prices are Bush's fault.  **** Bush.[/totally sarcastic; don't ban me]

Not cool, dude, not cool.
Only $3.61 for regular in tha' SLC.

That's what you get for punching my munchkin!

Look Dressel.  You crossed the line.  Although I lost the bet about a Kerry '04 victory, you agreed you'd keep the spoils of your victory a secret.  Now every closeted right winger is going to be bugging me for handjobs.

Ah, how I missed you guys so much.....

 :)

Gas prices in San Antonio were about $2.79 as of last week.

Huge difference between mutually-consented-to swinging, and getting some on the side, without the other one knowing.

Not even close.

Roger that.  A mutual understanding is one thing.  Deception is another.

I'm glad that so many of you provided your input.  It's greatly appreciated.  It's also good to "see" some old faces and to be welcomed back (MWB, Sprry75, Deanpaul, Angry Ewok, Jesse James, Scott, etc.).  And yes, Sprry75, I'm down for your proposition, provided your wife isn't violent.

Back to the topic at hand, as you can guess, I was the unfortunate victim of infidelity, which is the major reason why my nearly 10-year marriage failed & I ended up divorced.  I am now another statistic.  Not to put my personal life out there, but I thought you guys should know since I've been gone for a such a long time & that's the main reason why.  It's been horrible, especially since we have a 6-yr. old daughter together (which really complicates things).  Our divorce was finalized in Feb '05, and to this day, I've had a hard time adjusting.  It sucks.

Watto's Junk Yard / Infidelity.....what say you?

I know I haven't been an active member of this community for quite some time, but I thought I'd get your take on this controversial subject.  Infidelity.  What say you?  Forgive & forget?  Have any of you ever been in a long-term relationship where you were betrayed?  Could/can you forgive a cheater?  Your input would be greatly appreciated.

I wanna play!  Luckily, I've kept all of my receipts.  Let's see.....this year, I've spent the following:

January - $28.22
February - $53.04
March - $53.79
April - $10.77
May - $15.66
June - $19.36
July - $57.26
August - $57.51
September - $68.90
October (thus far) - $15.91

Total - $380.42.  Relatively speaking, not bad.

Happy Birthday, Sprry!   ;)

I think it's very possible.  Of course, if they make another Cantina set, you can bet we'll get 3 more resculpts (2 lame resculpts and one semi-decent rehash).   :-\

I finally picked up The Orb's latest CD this weekend, Bicycles And Tricycles.  Not bad.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: OTC...Selling that Well?
« on: October 5, 2004, 09:47 AM »
OTC is selling well in my area.  It's interesting that the pegwarmers around these parts are NEW figs (Lobot, Bespin Leia, Dagobah R2).  Of the rehashes, I see Cantina Han, Leia & Bossk quite frequently.  OTC figure sales are doing great.  OTC vehicles, not so great.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC "swap" irony
« on: October 5, 2004, 09:41 AM »
When I saw VOTC R2 at Target, I thought someone had swapped out the VOTC version for a POTF2 version.  Alas, I realized it was, in fact, the VOTC version, but that R2 was just plain crappy.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Question for loose collectors
« on: October 5, 2004, 09:38 AM »
I know that there are very subtle changes to most of the OTC figures, so I would like to know why you guys are collecting this line at all or if you're keeping a carded set.

OTC isn't 100% rehashes (even though it feels like it).  Keep in mind that OTC brought forth 7 brand new figures.

I'm proud to say that as a loose collector, I've only purchased 4 rehashes, and 2 of them were figures I never bought before (X-Wing Luke and General Lando).  OTC Bespin Luke was enough of a change to merit picking it up.  And the last rehash I picked up (Stormtrooper) is an army builder.  Can't have too many Stormies and I don't blame anyone for picking up extras of Jawas, Snowtroopers, Tuskens, Biker Scouts, etc.  OTC has it's fair share of appeal to loose collectors, especially if they like to build armies.

Did he say anything about those Otter Pop magnets?

For me, VOTC was about having ultra-articulated, definitive versions of our favorite main characters.  And at 100% markup in price, should you expect anything less?  For me, only 50% of Hasbro's VOTC lineup met that criteria.  Here's the beef I had with some of the VOTC figures:

Luke - Terrible likeness, mostly because of the head sculpt.  He certainly wasn't modeled after Mark Hamill.  And why is he so short?  The articulation is definitely a plus, but the piss-poor likeness is hard to overlook.

Leia - The likeness is a bit off.  She looks more like Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island than Carrie Fisher.  I'm also not a big fan of quasi-soft goods figures where half of the figure is plastic and the other half is cloth.

Ben - Would've been nice if he came with a fitted Jedi robe instead of a tent.  It's a shame....without his robe on, his arms look awkward and skinny.

Yoda - He'd look a lot better if his soft goods robe fit better and if he was the right color.

*C-3PO - Biggest blunder of the VOTC line.  Okay, so he doesn't come with loads of articulation.  Fine.  But why does he look so funky?  The likeness is HORRIBLE.

R2-D2 - Looks more like a slightly glorified POTF2 version of R2 with the shiny dome.  No thanks.  And the wires on his feet look more like sausage links.

On the flipside, I think Hasbro pretty much mastered the versions they made of Han, Chewie, Vader, Fett, Stormtrooper, and Lando.
