I did a little spray-painting and made an engine/grille for a vintage cloud car I picked up cheap. This'll hold me until (if) they release one!

Nice to see you update this here, it's a beauty. I like the grating you added, very well done and the paint looks great.
Question - are the plastic windows intact? For some reason I can't remember if it even had plastic windows to start with though.
:P
-
Looks great, nice upgrade! You definitely don't need to bother with any upcoming hasbro version now.
-
Its a good start. Are you going to do something about the landing gear? How come you took out the glass in the windows? It looks a little incomplete with it.
-
Thanks for the comments on the cloud car. I didn't put the windows in, but I may still make some from blister plastic. The models in the reference pics didn't have them so I thought I'd leave 'em out too :-*. Here is an Imperial officer made from a Veers body and POTJ troop head, painted black. The head is not articulated (I didn't have the right dremel attachment to hollow it out!)

Simple, but effective! I like it.

And my most recent diorama completed was Old Ben's house. Here are a few of the completed pics; I'll be starting a new dio this week or next.

Damn you Daigo! Every time I see that dio, it makes me wanna just give up ;)
-
I like the Imperial, but the Kenobi home is just sick. It looks like a real movie set... you ought to show it in the Monthly Customizing Challenge for inspiration.
:P
-
DAMN YOU GUYS you get Veers already I can't wait to get him over here, Your Imp Officer looks great. But mate Obi's house is mind blowing the detail work is fantastic well done indeed.

:o can i have one. that's crazy and almost insane. if it wasn't for the 3.75 figures standing in it i'd of almost thought it was life size.
-
:o Whoa man Ben would be proud!
That dio is so cool!
Nice use of different objects too.
-
That Diorama is just great. The detail is amazing. Can I ask how you get the stone wall looking finish? Is that foam coar based? Thanks!
-
Thanks Brent and everyone else, I appreciate the comments! The walls are all styrofoam, cut or sculpted, and painted in a plaster. I used Behr Wall Texture, but Plaster of Paris should work just fine. The real trick is sanding it down to a nice finish before spray (or hand) painting it.

This is a 12" Tarkin upgrade I had made a few months ago, but was unhappy with the face repaint and the Hasbro boots. I repainted the head again (I was surprised to see how dark Tarkin's hair really is) and replaced the boots with a pair from opstoys.com. The body is a Dragon doll, but the clothes and head are the Hasbro original.
Old paintjob

Another upgrade tackled recently: Han Endor. This is Hasbro clothes and head on a Dragon body and military boots from opstoys.com. I repainted the face and hair, added a little neck (can see the seam unfortunately), tightened up the clothes with hot glue, and added a little more waist thickness with a piece of foamie.

I am impressed.

Mate very great looking figures the both of them the clothing looks spoton and Hans holster and belt look great and well done on using different boots the hasbro ones suck big time the new boots give them a better stance.
there are two things that I have noticed and I apologize for the nagging.
1 - On Tarkin the Hasbro head is a little large for a Dragon Body I use sideshow toy bodies they have a leaner look to them they are also a little taller then the Dragon bods I think this would suit Tarkin way better.
2 - the faces on both figures are great looking scuplts so I was thinking maybe a wash of burnt sierra over the skin to darken it up just a little it would bring out the details much better.
and again sorry if I sound like Im nagging.

Holy crap, that Old Ben's House diorama is amazing! If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that it was a production still or something. What did you make those accessories (chairs, boxes, etc) out of? Is that all styrofoam too?
I like your 12" upgrades, especially the Tarkin head repaint. I was going to do a body switch with my Tarkin as well, but I didn't like hasbro's headsculpt, although after seeing your version, I might have to try it.
-
Both of those 12" figures look great. However, I'm in agreement that the Tarkin body seems a little bit to small.
