Well, there have been rumors the past couple years of a re-release of the Max Rebo band members, so hopefully this is what that is. I've always wanted a Max Rebo band set, even back from the vintage/childhood days, but I've been holding out for a re-release. Hopefully this is true, and on the way this year (and not too tough to get a hold of).
-
I will happily buy this set. Here's hoping for a more vintage style sy snootles and also Ak-Rev
-
I'm all in for Max Rebo and the band. I never got the older releases (in between my SW collecting days). I'd even take a straight repack (sorry for those who don't want them).
-
I'm down for a boxed set of these guys. I never had the vintage set and I think I'm missing one of the WM 2packs so this will be nice, but they'd better ditch the "BattlePack" idea unless they're going up against the Modal Nodes or something.
-
I was thinking the same thing, maybe it's a battle of the bands.
-
Oh man, imagine if they include Yarna in it! :o
-
My guess is that they'll have Ak-Rev with the other half of the drum that's coming with Umpass-stay.
-
Nah... I don't think there'll be anything new in there - other than deco maybe.
-

Hasbro says you can just piece together 2 drums from the regular Ak-Rev packs to make the whole drum.
Definitely better than buying the battle pack - so hopefully they don't include anything that I just have to have.
-
Hmm, well I can't really understand the language, but 4inches.de has an announcement on this and it's looking like the 1998 Rebo Band pairs, the Jabbas Dancers and Rappertunie.
-
I will gladly buy this since I don't have any of the original sets.
-
Battle Pack?
Kevin
-
There should be at least 7 figures in it, the 3 POTF2 band pairs and the TAC wave 4 guy. But for the price, that's not enough. I wonder if they'd sink as low as to include a Jabba and his throne.
-
Did we get a price on this?

I would think they would include the Jabba's Dancers also, but you never know. Would be nice to get something new, but I don't see that happening. With the release of Umpass-Stay this year, I would how long it will be before we see Ak Rev the last of the Band?

This is great news! I never got any of the Rebo band so this is exciting. It also presents the possibility of Ak-rev and Yarna, maybe not in this set but in the future to go along with it. :)
-
I hope it does not turn out to be like the Arena pack with all straight repacks. I would like better paint scenes on old molds with 1 or 2 new figures to make it a worthwhile 'upgrade".
Yarna would be perfect here!
-
This sounds like a cool set. Hopefully it actually turns out to be cool.
-
The "other site" has a pic of the back of the box I believe. It has all the Max Rebo Band Pairs, all 3 dancers, Rappertunie (sp?), and Han in the Carbonite Block (which I can't rell if he comes with the pack or not? Oh, and it looked like Yuzzum has his intrument.
I guess it would help to include the link http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/The_Bands_All_Here_107570.asp

Nope, not the back of the box, just a picture from their photo archive (http://www.rebelscum.com/POTF2jabbasdancers.asp) (scroll to the bottom). ;)
-
Scum does have an inside ear as to what's going on with Hasbro for the most part so I'm banking on these figs to all be included in the "Battlepack" even though it seems a bit busy in there. I say all's fair except for the dancers and Solo in carbonite.
-
I expect it to be a complete repack of 6-10 figures with only one or two completely new sculpts so that those of us with all the old figures are completely hosed.

That would be good out Hasbro for you. Plus I could see it happen.

I'm not so sure about this set. As much as I like aliens, this set sounds like it may be expensive and contain figures that are not too great. I'll make my final judgement after I see actual product pics.
-
Wow..Scum was right...go figure.
I really dig how you can connect the boxes to recreate the "The scene (http://www.galactichunter.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=54&pos=121)" Not quite a playset, but it's nice..
I'm hoping that WM puts this and all of their exclusives on their website so I can do the site to store thing. Worked perfect for me on the Transformer 5pack.
-
I was hoping for at least one new figure, Ak-Rev would have been the logical choice. At this point i am thinking a pass.
-
One good thing, is knowing Wal-mart these sets will most likely be around $20 each. Not bad for 5 aliens and would make for some good fodder. I don't know if I'll get the dancer set, but the other I will most likely pick up as I need two of the figures from that set for customs.

I was lucky enough to get all the Rebo band sets back in 1998, so I'll be skipping these.
-
The Rebo Band pairs are something I missed out on the first time around, and I've kind of been waiting to see if they would see a resculpt or re-release before I went to ebay, so I'm glad these are on the way. Hopefully they won't be too hard to get a hold of, WM exclusives seem to be a bit hit or miss around here sometimes....and I've always wanted to get the Rebo Band.
-
After seeing it in person, I can just see me leaving it on shelves when it hits retail.

Same here... looks like a 100% repack set. With the musicians as my collecting focus, as long as there's nothing new in it... a big PASS

Not me, I missed out on them the first time, so here's to Jabba's Band!

Ditto!

I'll definately be picking up the set with Droopy, Max and Sy as I dont have modern versions of these figures.
Im not sure about the other set. I would like a screen accurate Jabbas Palace, yet I absolutely hate the addition of that new song and all these new band members.
Anyways, I think these are great sets as they allow for all those who missed these figures in the past to pick them all up at once.
Hopefully they will be around $20 a set

Has there been any word on when these might be hitting? I didn't know if these would be a Black Friday type start date as well, or not. That is the only thing that could get me into WM this weekend. I seem to remember picking up the Cantina tin set about this time last year, but I'm not sure. I know most people don't care about these since they already have them, but the Rebo band has been a gaping empty spot in my collection for awhile, and I've always wanted to pick them up (but was waiting for a re-release). I don't have those dancers either, but I'm thinking I might have to pass on them due to there just being so many exclusives between now and the end of the year. I'm definitely planning on grabbing the band though.
-
I haven't heard anything about these lately either. Which seems odd.
If they were a Black Friday item, then we SHOULD have heard something by now.
Right?
-
That's kind of what I thought. Even if they were a Black Friday item, you would think someone...somewhere would have found them early. I guess it would be ok if they waited a bit, Target will be getting enough of my money over the next few weeks the way it is :).
-
I figured i take a shot at walmart (actually for the galactic hero sets) but nothing new.
-
I chose to go to WM instead of Target for two reasons (1) I already have all of the Target winter exclusives and (2) just in case they put these out OR the WM Comic 2-packs out.
Unfortunately, they didn't even put out any new Star Wars product at all - not even older releases. The way the SW looked when I checked it Wednesday night was the same way it looked this morning. ???
-
Okay, I'll admit, I'm a sucker for gimmicks like the perforated packaging and the "designed to fit together" thing. Those almost make these sets worth buying.
-
I stopped by WM this morning and they had both of these on the shelves. They didn't have a price sticker (but rang up at $24.88), and were on the bottom shelf next to the lightsabers. I picked up the Band pack, since I missed them the first time - but passed on the "performers" pack, at least for now. I've wanted the Rebo band ever since I was a kid, so I'm pretty happy these got re-released.
-
I'm not opening my sets, but if someone is getting rid of the packaging, I'll take 'em off your hands. ;)
