Got another rumor for you...
Endor Bunker Battle Pack
Endor Han (VTSC Endor Han, minus Ponco)
Chewbacca
AT-ST Driver (Han AT-ST version w/ new head)
Scout Trooper (VTSC Version)
Stormtrooper (Battle Worn w/ green brown highlights)
-
That sounds great, only why would they take the trenchcoat off of Han? I never got him with the trenchcoat but I'd like to, especially to cover the weird chest articulation.
-
What I Hope We'll Get
NEW AT-ST Driver w/ Comlink, Helmet, And E-11
REPACK Scout Trooper (ROTJ Tin, Flip Up Visor)
REPAINT Chief Chirpa (Generic Ewok Repaint)
REPAINT Stormtrooper (30AC Version, Forest/Battle Damage Repaint)
REPACK VTSC Han Solo
What Hasbro Will Probably Give Us

That sounds like a pretty good pack to me. Its just nice to see them using figures like VTSC Han and Scout (and hopefully VOTC Chewie) instead of figures like SAGA Endor Raid Han and POTJ Scout Trooper.

Hopefully the two latter sculpts you mentioned were atomized after the superior versions were created. There is really no excuse for Hasbro if they decide to re-release those sculpts ever again.
-
I could see myself buying this as well.
Lets see if they turn out to be true.
Well looks legit, i like the hoth one a little better.

I'll pick up this set. All good figures....except Chewie. ::)
-
This set doesn't really do anything for me. I have met my goals for Stormies and Scouts in my Imperial Army, and I don't need the Han or Chewie. The figures still look really nice, but I'm not going to pay $20 for one driver. I am, however, very happy for you Imperial Army Builders.
-
I'd get this set. Chewie is a donated toy, the rest are good. A few army builders there, and VOTC (IIRC) Han with Brown pants.
Though I'd likely only get one set, unless they clearance, then I'd get more just for the army builders and give the Han and Chewies away.
-
I would be tempted to buy it for some more loose figures. Plus, I kind of like the sloppy Biker scout and Stormtrooper there.
-
I dig a damaged Scout (hope it's a flip visor thougH), and I dig the Stormtrooper... The AT-ST Driver is in need of a resculpt, however I can still dig this guy too even. He's neat and really does appear to just have a removable helmet with a generic Fleet Trooper headsculpt under there I"m thinking...
Han/Chewie though? Meh... Han's good fodder, Chewbacca was old in about 2003 though. He's such an odd color though he could almost be another character all together.
-
I call dibs on all unwanted At-St Drivers. ;)
This is a really decent set. I can pick up a few just for the three army builders although I just need the one. If they were at Target and hit clearance, forget it, I'd be working overtime to fill in the 26 piece hole in my At-St Driver platoon.
-
I'm wondering if this is going to be just as big as the Hoth one?
-
I could see a Speeder Bike thrown in there as well.
-
It might be a good excuse to recycle the POTF2 Endor bunker.
-
Throw in some Ewok Repaints, a few Speeder Bikes and the already shown figures...good idea
-
Hasbro has been talking about trying to work the speeder bikes into the battle pack concept. This seems like the perfect vehicle for that idea.
-
Maybe the Ewok catapult and Ultra Ewok hanglider.
-
So, if TRU gets the Mega Geonosis Set, and Target gets the Mega Hoth set, does that mean that Wal-Mart gets the Mega Endor set?
Throw in some Ewok Repaints
Come on Wompus, it's your time to shine! :)
-
Doesn't WM get the Jabba's Band set? Maybe the Endor set will be K-Mart. :-X
-
Doesn't WM get the Jabba's Band set?
Yes, but Hasbro already said those were just 2 separate 5-figure battle packs and not a "Ultimate Battle Pack" like the Geonosis and Hoth sets...
-
my guess is that the endor set will include the bunker and a couple of extra stormies or speederbikes.
-
Do you guys really think the AT-ST Driver is still coming with this set, or is the one we got the early pic of (on the prior page) actually the one from the Hoth set? If there's not AT-ST in the Endor set, it seems that'd make the most sense that there's no Driver for it in this one, right?
That said, I'm assuming we'll see the Bunker, two Speederbikes, and one Ewok Glider. They haven't made the Catapult in the modern line, have they? While I'd love to get one of those, Hasbro's definitely not going to be making a new one just for this set.
And considering the crazy number of figures in the Hoth set, I'm guessing this one will be similar, and include Paploo (on the Bike), 2 Scouttroopers (1 on the Bike), 2 Stormtroopers, Chewie, Han, and an Endor Trooper (maybe the exclusive one from the ROTJ Tin set). I'd rather not get another Chewie in this set (another Ewok would be better), but I guess it's included based on the pix we got.
That'd be pretty cool to get all that stuff in there for a price similar to the Target Hoth set. I rather doubt it though, unless this set is going to Target as well (hopefully). Can't wait to find out!
-
(http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/8-07/bp_atstdriver.jpg)
The only reason I think there is a AT-ST driver in this set still is due to the green tinge of the jumpsuit. Might just be the lighting that the photog took though too
-
That'd be kinda lame if they stuck an AT-ST into this set as well, after it's inclusion in the Hoth set already. Otherwise, I can't really see Hasbro sticking a random AT-ST Driver into this set as a random Imperial army builder (by himself), apart from his usual rig. I'd rather see the Bunker, Glider and a couple Speederbikes in this set, like I was speculating on earlier.
Of course, with Chewie in this set, I guess it's possible they could try to set up the scene where he's popping out of the AT-ST, in front of Han at the Bunker, instead of the Driver in there, though that'd be even more lame. Again, not what I'd want to see here, so hopefully that's not the case.
-
I am betting there will be some kind of large new tooling like the equivalent of a gun turret. I doubt we will see the bunker but I feel the chance of seeing Ewok military expansion is good.
Here is my guess:
New Ewok Catapult Ewok Warrior
Redecoed' Glider with Ewok Warrior
Han Redeco
Chewie
VOTC ScoutTrooper
Stormie
Speederbike
AT-ST Driver
AT-ST again
-
I'd be happy with another AT-ST packed into the Endor set, just because I'm a sucker for walkers. I've got more than enough speederbikes and not that big of a fan of Ewok stuff. Even though I do have enought AT-ST's, I've been considering upgunning one so another in my collection wouldn't be a bad thing.
-
Based off the Hoth set, here are my picks...
Battle Of Endor Ultimate Battle Pack
Endor Imperial Bunker (POTF2 Repack)
Ewok Hanglider (SAGA Repack, Pilot Ewok Included)
Imperial Speeder Bike (Repaint Of CW Speeder Bike)
Stormtrooper (Endor Dirt Repaint, 2x)
Scout Trooper (Endor Dirt Repaint Of Tin Scout)
Imperial Officer (POTJ Repack)
Han Solo (VTSC Repaint)
Chewbacca (Bespin Repaint)
Nik Sant (TSC Endor Rebel Trooper w/ New Head Sculpt)
-
That'd be kinda lame if they stuck an AT-ST into this set as well, after it's inclusion in the Hoth set already.
Not to me. I still need 26 of this figure.
Then again, if I had my quota, I might be in the same camp.
-
Anton, what are you going to do if Hasbro makes a new version, with articulate knees/etc? I'm thinking somewhere down the road we'll see a new sculpt of the AT-ST driver. I like the one they've made, but do think he could be a lot better.
-

Absolutely, I think they could do better and I'd bet good money that a more articulated one will be made. When they do, I'd buy a platoon. Until then, I'm just tryin' to fillin' in the ranks with an adequate place-holder. :P
-
If/when that day comes, for those old AT-ST drivers, I think you could still find a great use for them - just pop on some different heads and you have generic Imperials, techs, etc. -
(http://www.yakface.com/toyguide/dioramas/chewie/ttt07.jpg)
-
That's exactly what I need 14 of them for.
-

Cool stuff. More Scout Troopers, more speeder bikes, more Ewoks and LOGS!
I guess big H is getting their money's worth from that AT-ST sculpt.
Hmmm... I wonder when the factory errors will show with the Hoth AT-ST in the Endor Set and vice versa ;)
-
The Ewoks are appealing but what's with the use of the AT-ST again? That tooling (along with the speeder bike) really have seen better days and now it's in two Battle Packs at the same time.
I really don't see the collector or parent plunking down the cash for both...
-
Lovin those logs!! :)
Looks like Target has me for a double wammy...
-
That being said, I might not get it as I do have a lot of AT-ST's already, along with just about everything else in this set. For the logs, I can use real branches from my back yard...
To get me to really want this set, they would have needed to include something else... perhaps some Endor Rebels with new head sculpts instead of Han and Chewbacca.
I seem to remember there being some sort of small structures to the side of the bunker in the film that one of the Endor rebels jumps behind when the battle starts. Something like that would have been cool I think, or I guess even the bunker itself with a new paint scheme.
I think that this is a nice set though, and would be a great gift for the kiddos. The Hoth set is definitely the superior set though I think.
-
The Hoth set is WAY better than this. I really have no need for this set, but I will probably end up getting it for the Ewok and the army builders.
-
I want two Hoth packs and one Endor. That makes three new AT-STs!
-
What rolls down stairs
Alone or in pairs...
Rolls over your neighbor's dog?
What's great for a snack
And fits on your back?
It's Log! Log! Log!
It's Lo-og, it's Lo-og
It's big, it's heavy
It's wood!
It's Lo-og, Lo-og
It's better than bad
It's good!!!

Pretty excited on this... I like most of it as I'll take the scouts, stormtrooper, Ewoks, logs, and AT-ST Pilot.
I'm sure I can find a buyer for the AT-ST somewhere.
-
I like this one too. I'll admit its not quite as exciting as the Hoth one (at least to me), but still pretty nice. I hope to pick it up too, and maybe I'll have to pass along one of these AT-STs to the nephews or something. I don't know that I need three of them. If these are both hitting for the Black Friday weekend (or around there), its not the best time to be dropping $100. :)
-
You're right, it won't be the best time to spend $100 on
yourself myself , so I might just pick one up for the oldest - he loves stormtroopers (of all varieties) and he could use his own vehicles.
Maybe he'll give me the Ewoks.
-
If anyone wants to sell me just the ewok, and maybe the rolling log - let me know. :)
-
Dochee the ewok, huh? I'd really like to see a better shot of that ewok in particular. I'm just getting a little bit of a suspiscion that it might be a repaint. It could be the SAGA hang-glider ewok (the coloring is similar), or perhaps a repaint of one of the two new ewoks for this year.
The Wicket in this set looks a little strange. At least from a paint standpoint. But it still looks like the POTF2 sculpt.
I'm thinking that the Chewie in the set is either the ROTS Chewbacca or the Cloud City escape figure. Hopefully the Han Solo is the VTSC version minus the trenchcoat. That's actually a nice figure.
As for the Imperials? An AT-ST, 2 x speeder bikes, AT-ST Driver, 2 x Biker Scouts and a Stormtrooper? We're getting some decent value even if these are mostly repacks.
-

I think it's safe to say that the only new tooling you'll find in this set is the fabulous log. How often can we say that on a Star Wars board?
-

If I didn't have all this stuff already, I'd probably be stoked.
But I just do not need this.
CHEWIE's right, this is a nice christmas gift for kids. I'll pick this up for my friend's 8 year old.
-

It is quite a splendid log, isn't it? ;D
-
I'm going to hold out and hope they re-release it in the Saga Legends line in 2009.

If the Rocky line can release a single carded slab of meat, Star Wars can release a log.

I'll let you know either way after I see one in person... I should know right off the bat if I'm interested or not in getting one.
-
Indeed. These things are generally very hit or miss - for me they're usually very miss.
-

I really don't see the collector or parent plunking down the cash for both...
What, really? I'm all over this action. Might even get 2 of each. If it is indeed $50 for...
- Scout Troopers x 2 ($14 retail)
- Stormtrooper ($7 retail)
- Han Solo ($7 retail)
- Chewbacca ($7 retail)
- Ewok repaints x 2 (let's split the difference and say $8.50 retail)
- AT-ST ($20 retail)
- Speederbike x 2 (let's go with $15 retail for the pair)
- Log action (two bucks?)
I'd buy the AT-ST, ewoks, and "grassy" troopers anyway. I figure those are worth at least $40 right there. I could take or leave Chewie, but a coatless Endor Han... OK, sounds good. Even if I were to chuck Han and Chewie into a wood chipper I feel like I'm getting my money's worth, as the DO WANT stuff is close enough to the asking price that the DO NOT WANT stuff is inconsequential.
I paid $25 for a black Scout Trooper with a black bike. Obviously, I am not too smart. However, $50 for two troopers, two bikes, and other stuff? Good other stuff I actually want? YES PLEASE. I hope they do more with this concept going forward and include slightly more new stuff. Not that I expect my Endor Dream Box with Sanyassan Marauders, Duloks, blurrgs, baga/bordok/whatever, Wilford Brimley, and so forth to happen... but I am nothing if not stupidly hopeful.
Seriously though, it's better than I'd expect for the price. It's roughly $80 worth of product in a $50 box, and some of that product is pretty gosh darn enticing. Plus... EWOK REPAINTS. Finally. (And no I'm not being facetious.) The only way this thing could be better is if they included a third log and some sort of platform to make a makeshift Ewok Village out of it.
Here's hoping just enough people are turned off by this so I can easily get one of my own, and by one, I mean two. (And by two, I mean like seven on clearance if it goes that far. At which point I'll probably trade away the AT-STs...)
-
If anyone wants to sell me just the ewok, and maybe the rolling log - let me know. :)
Damn you beat me to it. That is my exact thought.
-
Another AT-ST?
Wow, these sets will be $100? Damn.
-
Another AT-ST?
Wow, these sets will be $100? Damn.
Both the Hoth and Endor sets are $50 a piece. So you actually are getting some bang for your buck.
I think I'm in for one of the Endor set. I'm not a fan of the crappy molds on the Speeder bikes or the AT-ST but really they are just a bonus. The army builders and the ewoks are the best part of this set. Hopefully that speeder is at least the mold with the updated handles that came with the 2002 deluxe clone.
-
Hopefully that speeder is at least the mold with the updated handles that came with the 2002 deluxe clone.
Nope. Different mold entirely. It's the TRU 2001 POTJ/2004 OTC version from what I've heard thus far (non-exploding but basically the vintage one.)
-
I'm pretty underwhelmed by this set as well. I'm only remotely interested in the second Ewok, the At-St driver and the re-paint stormtrooper. The rest I can leave.
-
I sure hope these pics are not the final product. Han is missing his trenchcoat, and the AT-ST still has the incorrect weapons on it's head that have been used since 1980. They upgraded the AT-AT, and the AT-ST is long overdue.
-
No they didn't they just re-painted it. Plus, the Coat isn't needed. You can go to KB & still get the original version. :P
-
Han ditched the coat at the battle, so I understand, for display reasons why he wasn't wearing it...
About the AT-ST, given it's a battlepack, I'm not really counting on updated parts. It'd be nice, but unlikely. To be honest, I get the funny feeling that the AT-ST is out the door before long, and a new one is ushered in. Typical Hasbro strategy of use it a couple times then dump it (finally) for something new they know we'll buy.
Gotta milk those last $.02 in cost left in the thing. ;)
-
I'm pretty sure I'll be grabbing this set. I just acquired the POTF2 bunker to add to my Endor display and need an AT-ST to display next to it. I don't have a modern one and couldn't convince myself to spend the aftermarket price for the POTJ one.
It'll also give me a few Ewoks to increase the variety of furballs and I'm a very happy guy.
Too bad they didn't include 2 logs and a collapsable head on the AT-ST. ;)
-
I really like these sets. Hopefully we'll see more in the future. I wouldn't mind a Mygeeto or Utapua set.
-
I really like these sets. Hopefully we'll see more in the future. I wouldn't mind a Mygeeto or Utapua set.
I'd go for those. I could also see a much better Geonosis set, perhaps with something like this -
- Hailfire Droid
- Forward Command Center
- Battle Droid x 2 (red)
- Super Battle Droid x 1 (TAC)
- Clone Trooper x 2 (Evolutions - white uniform w/ red damage)
- Clone Pilot x 1 (Evolutions)
- Pablo Jill x 1 (POTC)
- Ki Adi Mundi x 1 (ROTS)
-
Death Star too.
-Control Console
x 1 Stormtrooper Luke
x 1 Stormtrooper Han
x 1 Leia (VOTC re-hash w/ EB head0
x 1 Chewbacca (EB re-pack)
x 6 VOTC Stormtrooper (Too make up for lack of vehicles)
-
You know, they could probably find out some way to put a vehicle in something like that, or create a Death Star turret... I'd think something tall is needed in order to justify such a big box... if they don't include something big, they might as well just go with boxes more like this -
(http://www.rebelscum.com/OTC/OTCcs2boxfront.jpg)
Which would actually be fine with me - it could basically be a long hallway (with a plastic wall) and be loaded with figures... Tantive IV could also be done this way.
-
Too bad they didn't include 2 logs and a collapsable head on the AT-ST. ;)
There are two logs - one at the top of the package and one on the ground. As for the collapsable head, you know they can't tool new components outside of logs!
-
you know they can't tool new components outside of logs!
Are we sure those logs are even new tools? The logs are new to SW sure, but if we went digging through other lines of Hasbro toys, I bet we could find those logs are actually from another line...
-
I think that those logs to look a bit familiar, come to think of it. But I have no idea where I would have seen them before.
-
Yeah, it's probably from some Robin Hood set from the eighties...or was it nineties?
-
My guess is Jurassic Park
-
I'm going with Jurassic Park too... The Sherwood Forest set was based almost exclusively on the Ewok Village with foliage added to the tops of the logs on that one... Nothing else was really altered except color I think... They had the battlewagon too but again with few changes.
Those logs do seem like they're from another toy line though... And it seems odd to see something newly tooled for the set.
-
Kind of off topic, but isn't the Hoth Rebel turret a new sculpt in the Hoth Battle Pack?
-
I was thinking no... I thought someone posted the POTF2 Hoth turret set for comparison and it was the same thing, it just looks bigger int he packaging. I could be wrong though, as I do not own that POTF2 set. Some of the few things I passed on were those POTF2 playsets.
-
I'm thinking the Hoth turret is new... I continued in this thread (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=15858.75).
-
Those logs alos look like they're cheep, thin plastic too, kind of like the plastic fruit made for kids to play with.
-
Anyone make out the Ewoks yet? It appears one is a light colored Wicket and it looks like thats the name on the back of the package. The other looks like a repainted Ultra Ewok.
-
Anyone make out the Ewoks yet? It appears one is a light colored Wicket and it looks like thats the name on the back of the package. The other looks like a repainted Ultra Ewok.
Wicket is one of them without a doubt and everyone seems to think that the other is the ultra one repainted.
-
Does anyone else think the light painted one (Wicket?) looks cartoon-ish with it's coloring? It just doesn't look realistic... I mean, when I've been on my safari adventures in the wild, I've never come across an Ewok with that color fur! ;D
-
I don't think it looks right either... I really doubt I'm going to get this set. If I do, I don't need the Han, the Chewbacca, the orange Wicket... the logs, or really even the Speederbikes.
-
Does anyone else think the light painted one (Wicket?) looks cartoon-ish with it's coloring? It just doesn't look realistic...
It's probably the same exact paint scheme as its Freeze Frame release, so... yes.
-
I never liked that sculpt because of the orangatan size arms. If they are going to change the color that drastically why not just use the ultra ewok twice and make the 2 different colors? Its a great generic ewok sculpt.

I agree. This also falls into the train of thought that there's no reason for any POTF2 sculpts to be used any more.
-
I'll take the Han off someone that is getting this set for some of the other stuff ;). I'm not into anything other than the Han.
The POTF2 figures are a drag and that Chewie is too. Really I think this set is over priced compaired to the Hoth set. If I find this on clearance for a good price I 'm might pick one up other than that it's a pass for me.
roron corobb
-
I agree. This also falls into the train of thought that there's no reason for any POTF2 sculpts to be used any more.
Yu said it. Anything before POTJ should be melted down.
Great a kit bashed Logray. As I said before I would have been more excited with 2 repaints of the ultra ewok, I would have been thrilled. The Hoth set has this one beat for sure.
-

If this is the same exact paint job as the VTSC one, we'll talk.

Here are the new pics of the ewoks... definitely the PotF2 sculpts.

As I said before I would have been more excited with 2 repaints of the ultra ewok, I would have been thrilled.
I would have preferred repaints of the new 30AC Ewok sculpts (Romba/Graak). Would have made a perfect base for Warok and Wompus. :-\
-
Do the POTF2 sculpts really REALLY annoy anyone? I'm not too disappointed I guess, as Wicket's about in line with the right height, and Logray's a decent semi-tall Ewok. Teebo would be, at this point, bulky and large by comparison though I think.
I'd have been probably just as happy with a Chirpa repaint though, had they given him a new hood of some sort. That would've done better aesthetically, but ultimately I'm ok with these I guess.
-
Do the POTF2 sculpts really REALLY annoy anyone?
I have to say yes. It's all in the sculpting for me, the later stuff simply has finer detail which is more pleasing to the eye (at least mine) that no amount of paint can cover up.
-
I'm a little disappointed with the bright colouring of the Wicket repaint. It almost looks like something from the cartoon, not the movie.
-
Agreed on the Wicket, but the Logray looks sharp to me, and I think there's some fine detail there... Check out the teeth and things. Reminds me almost of an Ewok in one of McQuarrie's concept arts for the characters, but one that was very close to the final thing, so I'm happy with that...
Wicket repaint is definitely the weaker one. Needed at least a darker hood color, maybe some finer paint detailing too, to really be acceptable. It's a weaker figure though.
-
I love the warped spears.

The Wicket looks really bad to me. Always thought it did. But if I buy this, it's not for Ewoks anyway, especially not orange ones.

Spent an hour of my life opening this one up last night. I'm not as thrilled about this set, but for the kiddies, you still can't go wrong;
At-St - just another At-St repaint.
Logs - more solid than I thought, plus the rope is a nice touch.
Speeder Bikers - No excuse to use the old molds. They could have at least used the one Saga Deluxe pack mold. Strike that, least they could have done was leave off the "T" bar. The notable mention is that they can't break apart. Paint job is decent though.
Wicket - seems cheaper than original release. ???
Gaak - I wish they would have used a different head set since wicket is in this set.
Chewie - ROTS version. :(
Han - Just the vintage trench coat version minus trench coat.
At-St Driver - different headsculpt from Hoth set, still has loose helmet.
Stormtrooper - Saga Sandtrooper version with dirt.
Bikerscouts - I like the fact that the both have distinct battle smudges.

"Gaak"? I thought that the text on the box said that the second Ewok's name was Dochee. Maybe I should have taken a closer look at that when I saw it at the store yesterday.

I am so there.

Apparently his name is "Oochee".
Some other random facts about the Endor set:
- the two Biker Scouts use different molds. One is the VTSC version, while the other is the kit-bashed wide-leg version that was used for the SDCC Shadow Scout set. Main difference is in the waist pieces.
- the AT-ST driver in this set (and the one in the Hoth set) uses a repainted head taken from one of the Tantive IV RFT figures.
-
After seeing this opened up, I only want the Ewoks from this set. I don't need officially sanctioned Star Wars®™© logs.

Did I mention I typed that at 6AM? :P

I argue this.
I saw this at Rebelscum as well and see *NO DIFFERENCE* between the molds-- much like the Cmdr. Neyo, the legs are spread apart slightly due to how it was packaged. (Many molds will deform the legs when they sit these days.) You'll notice there's a gap between the leg and the hip on the "wide leg" Scout, just like the Shadow Scout. The molds are, as far as I can tell, identical-- it's just like "band hands," but for their crotches. Basically the tab on the leg has been deformed by the packaging.

I concur with Adam.

If anyone buys one of these and wants to sell the repainted Ewoks for maybe $20 (?) please PM me.

I just need the At-St driver. Perhaps some type of WOW BP splitting thread is in order.

Damn, looks like I need him too - I guess I'll just buy the whole shebang...

Will you send me the logs?? :D ;D ;)

No can do - but if by some freak chance I end up with another one, the extras are yours. :)

I saw these for the first time today. I certainly was tempted but it just doesn't fit into my new collecting mold. My target had at least 4 or 5 of each of them on the shelves. If they clearance down a bit, I may not be able to resist.

I actually bought one of these last Monday after swearing I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. The reason I went ahead and did so was because the box looked as if an anvil had been dropped on it and Target had marked it down to 34 dollars. I did a close inspection of the contents and there was no visible damage to any of the figures or vehicles, so I figured, "Why not?"
Thank you whoever horribly maimed the Battle Pack with a forklift! ;D
