Interesting... none of the Targets near me had it regardless.  I just needed to know that I had the right #

Thanks.

Has anyone seen a DCPI for the Tantive battle back?

Is it 087-06-1707?

I dug that up on some other site using Google...

Kevin, can you get this thing onto Youtube or something so those of us who didn't see it, can?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: How often do you go to the Dentist?
« on: March 1, 2007, 10:18 PM »
What exactly has to be done to re-implant a tooth?  Can they be re-attached and have the same strength that they did before?  I always figured when a few teeth were knocked out it was time for some dentures.

Basically if it's been out an hour or less there's a good chance that the ligament on the root of the tooth will take back to the ligament left in the socket in the bone.  That's really the key, an hour or less.  Also there are various transportation mediums that the avulsed tooth can be placed in from the site it was knocked out until you get to a dentist.  There's something a lot of school nurse's offices have called Hank's Balanced Salt Solution (Save A Tooth) that has exactly the right mix of salt and nutrition to keep the cells in the ligament on the root of the tooth alive so that they'll be viable and reattach to the bone when it's reimplanted.  If you don't have Hank's on hand, you can also use milk, saliva, or water with varying degrees of success.

Even if all goes well, and the tooth takes back to it's home, there's a good chance that the tooth will have to have a root canal at some point in the patient's life.

 :P

You really do learn something new every day.

Amazing.

I was always curious why it was that whenever I visit a dentist to have my false tooth piece fixed (Stepfather walloped me in the back of the head and I smacked my face off the back of the dining room steel chair and half went missing) they X-Ray it to see if it needs a root canal. Never has. Just always curious why. I guess now I know because of the trauma of impact?

Kevin

When I was twelve, I got hit in the mouth with a baseball that I failed to catch.  Broke my left front tooth clean in half.

They put a fake bottom half on using pins (which I later was told was a practice abandoned by most years earlier (this was in about 1992).  They warned me that eventually I'd need a root canal.

Fast forward about 10 years.

The tooth dies.  I know this because I have an abcess (sp?) and the fluid (correct me if I'm wrong doc) had drained out of my teeth into my gums creating a pocket of fluid.  This required a root canal, and then a crown.

My guess is, that they're keeping an eye on your tooth because eventually you're going to go through what I did.

Gentle Giant / Re: Gentle Giant Busts

There's finally a worthwhile update to my ongoing saga with Nostalgia.

He's got a Threepio, a Greedo, and a Bossk.  I'm going to take the Bossk and Greedo at $45 each.

So, not the deal of a lifetime, but a solid price for Greedo nonetheless.

He has a supplier who is on vacation this week that he will be trying to contact when he gets back on Sunday to see if there's anything else he can scrape together (because he clearly wants to sell me these things...) but I doubt there will be any more to it.

He's going to credit me for the entire order, and then re-charge me for the pair.

Here's the details of this get-started shopping spree I've been on.

Already Had:

IG-88
X-Wing Luke
Chewbacca

Have now added:

ROTS Clone (White)
Leia (Boushh)
Lando (Skiff)
Han Solo
Yoda (ESB)
Darth Maul
Sandtrooper (White Pauldron)
Grand Moff Tarkin
Gamorrean Guard

Have won or purchased and already paid for:
Greedo
Stormtrooper
Threepio (Gold)
Vader (ROTS Version)
Grievous
Plo Koon
Qui-Gon
Sandtrooper (Orange)
Biker Scout
501st Clone
Bossk

And I've got a local place all lined up to do pre-orders on future busts.  They do 15% off for pre-orders.  I'll pay tax, but save a bunch on shipping...

My short list that I'm targeting now is the Biker Scout, and if a freelance job I'm hoping to land next week comes in, Boba Fett.

For anyone who was curious, I dumped the last of my baseball cards on a co-worker... for $20.  We can't decide which one of us got the short end of that deal.

An A+ from me, even if his country's lame postal service couldn't deliver for over 3 months.

I can throw some feedback in here too - Paul's helped me out at least a dozen times in the last year or two with various items.  A stand up guy for sure.

Wow - thanks for doing all this for me gentlemen... a year old Feedback thread and I didn't realize (or remember at least) that it existed.

I probably need to bounce around in here and find your threads too.

I had my first cleaning in 3.5 years on Monday (spent some time uninsured after college).  No cavities (I've never had one) and nothing wrong at all.  I was quite relieved, I expected a lecture and an unusually painful scraping, but got neither.  I'm back on the grid, my next appointment is already made.

I think I've had a grand total of one McDonald's hamburger in my entire life.

I guess I've always been a McNugget man myself.

I've never had the shake either - didn't know it existed until I saw this thread... I generally only get McDonalds 2 or 3 times a year, and only when I'm traveling.

I might go find myself one of these this weekend.

That helmetless Vader kills me... I passed that thing in stores at least 5 times saying to myself 'hell, I've already got a vader... who needs another one' - now it's the only one I don't have and it drives me nuts.
