Watto's Junk Yard / Jackass: The Movie
« on: August 11, 2003, 02:18 PM »
Yeah, sue me, the movie is months old and yadda yadda yadda..

I finally saw it last weekend...funniest damn thing I have seen in a long, long time.

My favorite skit has got to be when they drove through the mini-golf course with the golf carts and then started doing those jumps.  Johnny almost bit the big one

I also really liked Butterbean knocking the hell out of Johnny in the department store.

Great movie...Great Guy movie...Don't Try this at Home ;)

Watto's Junk Yard / What you talkin' 'bout Gray Davis
« on: August 7, 2003, 02:52 PM »
So, it looks like any celebrity in California is now running for Governer as the Uber-Scholar Gary Coleman  Has thrown his hat into the ring (along with Arnold and Larry Flynt)

Let's take bets on who will be next...

Watto's Junk Yard / Bon Jovi...I don't get it
« on: August 7, 2003, 11:29 AM »
Can someone please explain to me why Bon Jovi is:

A. The official Band of the NFL
B. Still allowed to take the stage anywhere
C. Played at all sprting events?

I just do not get it, femma rock to the max and all of their songs are the same.  A gets me the most, how many NFL fans are huge Bon Jovi fans?

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Built to Rule..Figures
« on: August 6, 2003, 11:43 AM »
Built to Rule is the new attempt by Hasbro to infiltrate the Lego market.  Each set contains a figure...

Anyway...the Tonka line seems to be chock full of generic 3 3/4" figures that actually have a little articulation to boot.  May be worth checking them out while browsing the Lego aisle at Target next time you are there

Virex's post resparked somehting I had been thinking of for a long time...how long will DVD's and CD's be here and when will they go the way of tape?

I envision eventually, everything entertainment wise in your house will be networked through your computer, all of your movies, music, games will be stored as files with portable equipment to transfer to your car and walkman (which is the way some people are already doing).  Your receiver (I guess "hub") will then route your media to the TV, Speakers etc...everything will be bought on-line and just downloaded to your computer

This is what the PS2 was supposed to eventually be, perhaps that is what PS3 will become

Are we talking 5 years?  10 years?

Watto's Junk Yard / Worst CD you Bought...And Still Own
« on: August 4, 2003, 04:08 PM »
WHilst chatting with a friend the other night we were reminiscing of unfortunate CD purchases of the past 10-12 years and I amazed at some of the crap I still have in ye olde collection

Something I bought, listened to one time, thought, wowza that sucked and put it away.  The sad thing is, it is still sitting there.  Not thrown away, sold at a garage sale or given to charity.  It sits there mocking you, saying nah nah nah nah nah, you spent $12 on me!

My nomination.

Chris Cornell's solo CD, Euphoria Morning...I loved Soundgarden, geniunely liked his stuff on the Singles soundtrack, think Audioslave is pretty cool.  This CD however absolutely sucks...it blows chunks, and I still have  ::) :-*

Say what you will about it but...ick

Watto's Junk Yard / Chronicles of Narnia
« on: August 4, 2003, 11:34 AM »
Anyone read these books?

I read a blurb in USA Today a couple weeks back that they are adapting the first Book..."The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" to the big screen.

Some of my favorite books as kid I was happy to hear that (I suppose to try and capatilize on the LOTR and Harry potter trend)...not sure if I am alone out there in a sea of literary geekdom though.

To be honest, I didn't read all of the books either, the first one is one of my alltime favorites though and the highlight of 4th grade for me :-*

Saga '02-'04 / Defender Wish Lists: Mos Eisley Cantina
« on: August 4, 2003, 10:33 AM »

Send your Wish List for 10[/i] 3 3/4" Figures to me or post them here, be it new figures, resculpts or even re-releases and I'll tally the votes.  After four weeks of list taking I'll publish the results and we will move on to the next movie (or scene :-*).  This time around it is the wretched hive of scum and villainry...the Cantina.  If you need help coming up with names check out the Official Sites Databank:   Episode IV.  Have fun and thanks for sending in your lists (remember to limit it to ten)!

Also check out Red6's archive for the very obscurest of the obscure for more choices...

Watto's Junk Yard / Your Song...
« on: August 1, 2003, 10:24 AM »
MY wife and I have a song

Here, There and Everywhere by the Beatles...we had it sung at our wedding and we make and effort every now and then to play it every now and then (especially on our anniversary) which is just a simple reminder of what our marriage is, was and will be

My own personal song is Sweet Child O' Mine  The opening guitar lick followed by the greatest bass riff of all time jsut gets me everytime.  Anywhere I am and Sweet Child comes on I can't help but get a big goofy grin on my face and sing along to my hearts content.  It was the highlight of the GN'R concert in Fargo I went to last winter
