These are always my favorite topics. All of our creating minds coming together to come up with ideas that Hasbro will probably never do. :)
- Yoda w/ Kashyyyk Escape Pod
- Palpatine w/ Senate Pod
- Preggo Padme w/ Medical Bed and Medical Droid
- Eopie w/ Obi Wan
:P
-
I really like the Yoda with the Escape Pod idea.
Maybe dead Padme in burial dress with her coffin??? Eh, might be to morbid for a toy I suppose.
FX-6 with 2-1B type medic droid and something from the Vader operating room. I am just wanting those 2 made in anyway I can get them!
-
After seeing a pic of it the other day, I'd really like to see a Yoda w/Escape Pod come our way. Seems like it would be the right size to make to scale, and could be a neat toy.
-
Ooh... dead Padme in a casket. Morbid, but I'd buy it.
:-[

I'd buy that ;D
-
I don't see how a toy of Padme in a coffin is any more morbid than a burned Anakin or any figure with removeable limbs. Oh well.
-
I think it's more morbid because she's actually supposed to be dead.
But yep, I'd buy it.

You know how back during the Vintage Line (if you were a kid back then) - you always wondered WHY they didn't put out a slave Leia figure?
Well - I think that dead Padme in casket will be the PT's "Slave Leia" figure - the version of the main female character that will NEVER get made during this run. I think at the time, the idea of a skimpy metal bikini on a female action figure was too much for the early 80s society to handle - flash forward 10 years and it was a-ok.
Now when the line dies in 2008 and then starts up again in 2019 because Jett Lucas is taking the SW mantle from his senile father and making EPs 7, 8 and 9, I could see the new toy company hyping the "Casket" Padme as a NEVER BEEN MADE figure just like they did with Slave Leia and Grand Moff Tarkin when POTF2 came out. Perhaps the society of the future will not mind the idea of their children playing with action figures of dead women! ::)
-
Hmmm... I don't see the line dying in 2008. But, that's an argument for a different thread. ;)
Good analogy by the way about the Slave Leia.

:P
I don't either - all I was trying to do was establish the same time between the death of the vintage line and the current line and the future "death" of the modern/current line and the birth of the third toy line. That's all...
Personally, much to my wife's dismay, I can see this line surviving AT LEAST another five to six years - especially if a TV series comes and lasts.
-
My wife is eager to see the line ending too... heh heh but even if it did, I would continue collecting and start going extremely crazy in army building vehicles and making more custom playsets.
:P
-
I like the escape pod idea...
A deluxe Nute Gunray or other CIS V.I.P. would be cool..that room looks full enough to make a few sets.
-
I'm thinking we will get some sort of Cinema Scenes again with the Separtist Leaders around a table again... will be really cool if the leaders all have removable heads/various body parts.
:P

One can only hope that such a thing(s) would be released.

Awesome ideas Chewie. Here are a couple more:
-Palpatine in chair from Invisible Hand (might be better as a screen scene with Anakin just about to kill Dooku)
-Emporer Palpatine with desk and holographic Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader
-Clone Commander with BARC Speeder (saw a still of that somewhere)
-Clone Gunner with turbolaser station
-Battle Droid Gunner with capital ship gun station
-
The Clonetrooper riding the Slug creature on Felucia. Please oh please oh please! A picture of it is in the ROTS picture thread. There are massive spoiler pics mixed in with it though. So, I won't post the link.
-
That slug would definitely make for a great deluxe or small creature assortment.
:P
-
Is there anything planned beyond the Stass Allie/Clone 3-pk/Crab Droid/Spider Droid wave? If there is, I don't remember seeing anything on it...
Do you guys want more deluxes in this line? I could go for a few more!
- Darth Sidious w/ senate pod
- Eopie w/ Obi Wan
- Padme w/ medical table and baby Luke/Leia
- Commander Neo w/ speederbike
:P

The deluxe is what's killing ye 'old wallet. :P
The Eopie and the Neo are excellent ideas, Sidious might be okay, but I'm not sure how I feel about baby Luke and Leia's. :-\
I wish I could add to the list, but I think the expense is making my pray that there is no more, although Neo on a bike would be sweet.
-
I think that Sidious would be awesome... I've always wanted a senate pod... if they were to do this, I'm not sure if I'd want Palpatine in red outfit, or in the black when he's fighting Yoda... probably in the black.
I know what you mean about baby Luke/Leia... I still think it would be cool though to get them. Maybe with a Polis Massa medical droid?
:P

AHAHAHAHAHAHA ! Thats funny ... ;D . I would prob get one aswell and yeh its about as sick as Anakin all crispy .
-
Sidious and the pod are musts. I'm not sure why Hasbro didn't make this to begin with (but then we have no Cody yet, so...). I like all your ideas, Chewie. Obi and the Eopie and Luke would be perfect for me.
-
I iwll prob be kicking my self in the butt for this later but I wont buy any of these... I might wait a few years then do it but not tell then.Other wise it will just sit around and I wont even care I own it. The figures on the other hand I will always pick them up. Im sure of that I look at them every day like 5 times lol.
-
So, you don't like any of the current deluxe figures? Bacta Luke? Wampa? Vader on Medical Table? Amanaman? Crab Droid?
:P
-
As much as I like the idea of Darth Sidious with the Senate Pods, it seems as though it would be a bit too big for the Deluxe line. If it was made to get in at the $10 price point that the deluxe line sells for, the scale (f a s c i s t s) would start screaming bloody murder, and I think many would find it to be inadequate.
Rather, I think a Senate playset akin to the EPISODE II arena playset (size wise) might fit the bill better. Have a wall of several senate pods with an action feature where the Senate pods fly out of the wall. This could have a wide appeal for both play features AND to collectors who like to display.
-
I'd be all for a senate playset like that. They could do the pods as part of the assortment that has the Wookie Flyer, the size would be about right.

Post Edited:
Nick, using the term I edited out as an emphasis about a group of people who prefer to-scale items (myself, MisterPL, and others included in that group) is not acceptable to me. Next time please be more conscious of what you're actually saying, whether in jest or not, as that phrase isn't one most like having applied to themselves no matter what context it was intended. Thanks. JJ
:P Abuse of power at it's finest! :P
Odd. I didn't see mobs of soup chefs rushing NBC studios in LA when Seinfeld had the whole soup nazi storyline going.
-
Difference of opinion on the term itself I suppose, but I feel it's a term not applicable to people in a public forum, even if the intent was meant in jest, so I'm sorry you see it as an abuse of power. It's a simple edit of one word, nothing more, nothing less, and I hope that's explained thoroughly enough now.
-
We're gonna continue talking about Deluxe figures here. The rest of the discussion here is being removed, since it had nothing to do with the topic of this thread. As for the edit that was made, the use of that word referring to a particular German regime is offensive to many people around the boards, so unless it's being used in the historical context, we'd rather not have it used at all. If anyone's got a beef with a mod here, feel free to e-mail or PM Chris or myself. Thanks.

I would love a deluxe Senate Pod...because I don't want to make one of my own for photonovels. :D

I feel exactly the same way. I want to make one, but don't know how!
:P

Hire Owen. ;D

-
Thought about it actually... and it is on a long list of stuff I am wanting him to make actually!
:P
-
Hell, why not add these to my wishlist (sorry if someone posted these, I didn't see these on a list yet) -
- Battle Droid 3-pk (all different poses, sturdy plastic)
- Crispy Anakin w/ medical capsule
:P
-
I'd dig a Droid 3-pack, but only if it was ALL battledroids (not the super, or any other droid). An officer/Oom9 paintjob, and done in 3 color variants. Green, Cream, and Red... I'd prefer one sculpt though, and poseable.
Take the Droid from the Episode One Naboo 4-pack (the TRU set) and just cast him in all those colors. That'd be a sweet set I'd sink a lotta money into. As it stands my Clones are shooting at thin air for the most part... Well, a couple spider droids act as targets too I guess.
-
Someone hinted at it earlier, about an idea for a deluxe set of figures...
Hasbro could do a Senate Pod Deluxe Set similar to how they did the Jedi Council. It could be a pod with different senators in it. The sets could then be linked together to part of one side. The sets could come with supports needed to keep the wall standing.
To mix things up a little on the sets they could insert an empty pod so that way people could use the Senator Jar Jar, Padme, Bail, Orn Free Ta and other senators so they would not have to remake or re-release old figures in the pods. The only responsible way I would see them remaking figures to put in the pods would be to make the legs super articulate so they could sit in the pod. They could make a Chancellor's Podium to put in the center. The floor could have different holes and come with supports so you could have a pod appear to be floating.
Pod's that they could make -
Greedo Pods
Naboo
ET's
Wookies
Trade Federation
But the best part for those of us that don't care about the senators we could build a wall of the senate and insert an Emperor and Yoda and recreate their fight from ROTS.
-
I like Chewie's idea for a medical capsule with Anakin. Perhaps and even gorier Anakin as he is seen on the table?
Yes a Pod with Emperor Palpatine would be fantastic!
