Have a looky.
Vintage Kenner Star Wars Die Cast TIE Fighter MOC 1978! (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3178319607&category=2475&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1)
Now I got mine for a Bin of $15.99 just awhile back.
The one in the auction still has the punch tab, mine does not. It also has a crease going down the right side of the card, mine has one going from the punch to the right side at an angle. Same 21 back card as mine, infact exactly the same card.
My question is, is the prices of these diecasts going up or does the bidders really want it that bad? $101.00 ???

I think it's that people just don't do their homework and they don't try shopping for it at a cheaper price. Dale, you getting that for only $15 is an incredible steal though. I've seen these go for up to $50 if they're carded and the card is in somewhat decent condition.
-
Dale, like Chris said you got a steal at $15.00. As you know I am after landspeeders and some of the carded examples I have found have went for over $100.00 in great condition. Average I would agree with Chris and say around $50-$60. High grades like figs though really can soar with the prices. I saw one that was dead mint go for over $200.00

clicky clicky (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3190344199&category=50277)
C-8 :o Nuh, I don't think so bub.
-
I agree, I can't see this being a C-8. Did you dcjeck his other auctions out?
Vintage Star Wars, Rancor, Jabba, and 3 figures MOC (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50277&item=3190332212)
Maybe the figures grade high but not the cards. ::)
-
I hate it when people try to justify grading services, but geez, this guy makes them seem valuable. At least those three weren't so bad.
-
This cardback has a small amount of stress marks
:o
small amount of stress marks? yeah, and so does the poster i just got from starwarsshop.com ::)
-
neat auction here. Not at all with our theme, but didn't know where else to put it. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3190975437&category=2474)
-
Neat it is but the shipping is a killer! Expect shipping to cost in the neighborhood of $200-300. :o
-
Back to the original topic, but not vintage. This one's good for a laugh...

I presume he emailed for pics or at least I hope he did. That's a bit of change for a sight unseen auction.
-
Yeah, I would have emailed the seller too.
The heading & description on this one is just too priceless. ::)

Crap! Did you check out his other auctions!
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=heidfitz&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50
-
Indeed I did. The 10th seemed to be quite a day for the loons and their BINs. I didn't take the links, but there is one guy that has most of the figures up with BINs. $175 for blue snaggletooth. :o There are worse examples as well. I restrained myself on a $45 Imperial Gunner.
-
The better half just called me at work & she said she got an mail from eBay. It was 10 cent insertion day on the 10th so that might explain it. Seems when there free or at a cheap price, sellers go crazy! (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/YaBBImages/rolleyes.gif)

So, I saw this rock on the taxi-way, photographed it to prove it was there, and now I'm placing it on Ebay to see of those wild stories about people paying lots of money for really stupid stuff is true.
Best line ever! ;D
-
That is ******* priceless. :D
That guy deserves every penny he gets for that rock. He should also be allowed to hurl it directly with massive force at the eventual winner, hopefully knocking some sense into their incredibly stupid head. ::) It's at $48 already. Morons.
-
now why couldn't i have thought of that?

Here's someone with high expectations (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=52335&item=5910480334&rd=1) read the description and then tell me his reserve isn't just a wee bit goofy.

Enterprise Bridge by Mego: Star Trek The Motion Picture (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38263&item=5912013646&rd=1)
Yes, it's Star Wars related! ;D
-
That's pretty darn funny :D
Did you recognize all of those figures in there? Looked like a droids R2 and maybe a customized droids R2? The green looking one?
-
Looks like 3 custom painted R2's in there 1 purple & 1 green (maybe Droids R2's with the grey domes) & 1 to look like a R2-Q5. As for the other 2 droids, thery are R4-M9's.

what's so funny about that? i'd pay $100 for that monstrosity... ::)
-
The seller revised the auction! ::)
He had an opening of $100. a bin of $500. & he changed the description! I sent the auction page to myself before the change! ;D
-
Huh? I don't get it (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5911556039&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT)
It's over now, but sat at the opening bid until about an hour before the auction ended, look at what it ended at. I'm missing something, but what? :-\
-
that seems like a case of someone just putting an extra 0 in their bid of $10.50, at least to me. but then again, i took at look at the first bid, and it was $100? unless people are being fooled by the "i didn't want to disturb his clothes to look at the date, but it's probably 1977" remark that she made. but even then, who would be so dumb to think that a character that wasn't created 'till 1980 could have an action figure created in 1977?
-
Avert thine eyes now if you are a squeamish collector, for here comes an image of the greatest sacrilege!

One of only 200 made. Thursday.
Thursday's are always slow. No one really understood why factory production was always down that day, but it was. Monday would have been understandable, but 300 or more were made on Monday. Friday would have made more sense too, but it always surpassed that magical mark as well. Nope, Thursdays were the worst. Only 200 made.

Everytime I go looking on evilbay, I come across these stupid auctions:
ENDOR FOREST RANGER - US Patent - STARWARS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2475&item=5924862874&rd=1)
The Patent Museum (http://stores.ebay.com/The-Patent-Museum_W0QQsspagenameZl2QQtZkm)

-
Those auctions make me weep. I totally understand how they feel they've got gold on their hands, only to find out it's tin. That's the point of research on ebay. Don't set your sites too high and you may end up with some pleasant surprises instead of stupid ebay fees for stuff that doesn't sell.
-
Just though this would be a good place for an off topic auction! ::)
