I found the TRU Cinema Scenes at my Huntsville Toys'RUs last night.  You guys probably know this, but I only last night discovered that the banners at the top of the action figure shelves are actually cabinets for over-stock.  Half of the 8 Cinema Scenes from the case were up there, including both Naboos and one of the Hoths.  They were shipped with the old scenes.

- Luke's vest is brown
- Han's coat is blue
- Vader has a very light dusting of "snow" below his waist
- Maul has his cloth tunic
- Obi-Wan has a blue light-saber
- The security droid's arms are at least sorta down.. like the Geonosis battle droid's

Also, the paint applications on both Qui-Gons and both Leias that I saw were all disappointing, for whatever that's worth.  Jar-Jar looks great.

From the C-IV presentation:

Wave 4 (July 15)
Battle for Naboo and Battle for Hoth (TRU - August)
Cantina Band and Cantina Encounter (WM - September)
Wave 5 (November 1)
Assault on the Death Star and Jabba's Palace (TGT - November)

Even with slips, the TRU Cinema Scenes should also be out sometime soon.  These are the worst ones for repacks, and will surely also have the most expensive prices.  We'll all get to test the decisions we thought we'd made on these things.  Pesonally, I sure thought I had already accepted the fact that I was going to give up and buy them all; but when I actually went into a TRU this weekend, I wasn't really sure what I would do when faced with spending $49.90 plus tax on Qui-Gon, Jar-Jar, and Hoth Leia.  Ouch.

Further, the least they could have done was to have the decency to pack in another AT-AT Driver instead of Veers (or, heaven forbid, everybody's 100th Vader).

1.  Rebel Fleet Trooper and Astromech repaint
2.  Admiral Akbar and Nien Numb
3.  Lobot and Cloud City Security Guard
4.  Sy Snootles and Droopy McCo0l
5.  Max Rebo and his keyboard
6.  Ewoks 3-Pack (this is a wish-list, right?)
7.  Klaatu and Tessek (Squidhead)
8.  Luke's Landspeeder, even if it means eating another tatooine luke (way scaled down speeder, like 1 passenger)
9. Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen
10. Dr. Evazan and Cantina Denizen (I'd personally like Bo Shek, but whatever)

I'd trade them all for a good tie-fighter.

1.  Watto and pit droid
2.  Sebulba and podracer (it's cool even if it has to be WAY out of scale and proportion... as long as it isn't some stupid recylcled transforming insult)
3.  Podrace Anakin and a podracer (see Sebulba)
4.  Nute Gunray and Droideka
5.  Handmaiden Padme (Mos Espa) and Part-showing 3P0
6.  Captain Panaka and Astromech repaint
7.  Boss Noss and Queen Amidala (one of the red gowns)
8.  Ki Adi Mundi and Mygeeto Marine Trooper
9.  Zam Wessel and Dex
10.  Battle Droid w/ blue markings and a STAP

I'm telling you, if there was ever a line that could realistically include collectible podracers AND collectible podracer pilots... this is the one.  Meanwhile, I have to beleive there's a way to sneak a really cool Vulture Droidfighter in here somewhere, so that one of the freaking ships has something to fly against.

Like Brian, I'm torn on the idea of the Cinema Scenes.  It's great they found a way to sneak in larger items, but they're getting awfully manipulative with the way they're packing them.  I'm not super completist about every repaint or anything, but even I am going to end up dropping $20 each ($24 at TRU?) for only 1 or 2 figures each from 6.  That's crummy.  I've actually been passing on all of the Cantina type 2-packs ever since that one vague rumor, but even that isn't quite working out all that great thanks to Hasbro's carefully timed nonsense (straight repacks for figures before the rumor, repaints/retools for figures after it... great).

I don't collect the main line, but I was under the impression they'd finally gotten away from that crap and started giving a little consideration to the loose collector.

Worse, though, are my great doubts about my ability to track down 2 each at all three of the Big Stores.   They just seem so impatient about not letting these big monstrosities dominate their shelves.  Plus the time is super inconvenient.  That "Novemeber" date means we again might see a single vanishing shipment right before Christmas, and then nothing until after Spring inventory... if they bother.

Oh well, at least they're delivering some super cool toys.  I am really fired up about them.

I stopped in the PO this morning and picked up my 3 sheets and they look AWESOME in person, so much that i'm thinking about framing a set. The clerk told me that each PO only received a certain amount and they were much more limited than other stamp releases...

Oops, I picked up 10 this morning.  I didn't know there was a limit, and the clerk didn't say anything... I just didn't want to have to mail anything wihout like a C3PO stamp on it for a long time

It looks to me like the Biggs X-Wing set is also coming with a second pilot... which as near as I can tell from the helmet is a new helmeted Luke.

I'm a little surpised that Veers/Driver aren't packed into the Hoth Scene.  I'm torn between being thankful it doesn't have any new characters, and disappointed in not having much of an excuse to get a second Taun Taun and a second Hoth trooper.  I'd much rather not end up with a 2nd X-Wing.

I'm confused about the Cantina band.  Are the music player and light just housed in the regular cardboard packaging?  Any chance that the band's stage is plastic?

ETA:  Or I guess I could have figured out it was Luke from the fact he was, um, holding a freaking lightsaber   :-[
ETA:  Also, it looks like Hasbro must have left behind their new Hoth Leia, because she did show up with the Hoth Cinema Scene in their slideshow (along with General Veers, who also wasn't in the display).  Sweet.

$20 bucks for a Qui-Gon & Jar Jar!!!?
Atleast I'm new to GH. Sucks for everyone else.

Yeah, I'm actually pretty iffy on the cinema scenes, in general.  So far, I think a lot of people have been in the position of being able to back-fill a nice collection from them... but for a line that already operates out of often inconvenient 2-packs, it's about to get very annoying in a hurry.

Scratch my pessimism on Qui Gon and Jar-Jar.  They are also both carefully worked into the little hype-up narrative:

"Trouble comes to the peaceful planet of Naboo! Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi fight the powerful Sith apprentice Darth Maul in the Royal Hanger, while a Battle Droid is surprised by Jar Jar Binks' antics. Young Anakin Skywalker takes cover in a Naboo fighter then helps save the day with his great piloting skills!"

- N-1 Fighter (w/ batteries!)
- Obi-Wan
- Little Pilot Ani
- TF Battle Droid
- Darth Maul
- Qui-Gon
- Jar-Jar

If that comes true, again, what a great set!

Wow, has anyone gone to the TRU site and looked at the preliminary description for the Naboo set?  Its hype-up text is very careful to "casually" mention Anakin taking cover in an N-1.  It also very clearly states that it both requires and comes with 3 batteries!!!

My only conclusion is that this set will include a re-release of the old Playskool N-1, but with sounds this time!  So awesome (thought I must admit I think my 3-yr old plays with his N-1 more than his X-wing specifically because it is much lighter for not having electronics).

I kinda doubt they'll give us the Qui-Gon or Jar-Jar we so obviously want, since there will probably only be a few characters anyway.  At this point, I'm just hoping for a (battle damaged?) beige TF battledroid without the yellow commander markings, and maybe bringing back that cloth tunic for Maul since I passed on that 2-pack.

I just about ordered the Obi-Wan/Durge pack, because I keep missing that one, but I couldn't bring myself to pay shipping on one set - or buying other stuff I don't necessarily need to feel better about it :P.  I've seen the other packs from this wave, although somewhat scarce, but this one has always been gone.  Oh well, I'll wait it out and hope it shows up locally - I notice it is out of stock at HTS now, so we'll see.

Yeah, what's up with the missing Obi/Durge sets?  I'm seeing that here, too, and they sold through REALLY quick on hasbrotoyshop for a GH set.  Is it packed fewer to a case or something?  Is this one of those retarded deals where they'll soon be overpacked in a make-up assortment, at which time the pegs will be clogged not only with all the newly shipped sets, but also with all the returned sets scalpers had been hording in case there wasn't a correcting assortment?  Does anyone know if Obi/Durge is also shipping in the RoJ cases?

I just worry that some of these new ones will be in future 10 packs, which are a great value and are sure to have a figure or 2 you can't get anywhere else.

Tell me about it.  The (french?) rumor that there will be a Cantina 10-pack makes so much sense, and the decisions to hold off or not are killing me.  The super-duper difficulty of tracking down the original 10-packs isn't helping.  With any luck, though, the repaints will be of a more uninteresting variety to the non-completist.  I might guess:

Vest Han
Greedo
Hammerhead
Ponda Baba
Hood down Obi Wan
Tatooine Luke
Chewbacca
Bith (different instrument?)
Snaggletooth (blue - nod to vintage variant?)
Sandtrooper (grey or black pauldron, and sandy?)

Also, any word if clone-armor-Obi or Durge can actually sit on a speeder bike?  Seems ridiculous if they can't, but the ROTS clones already weren't great at it, and that cape looks like bad news.  Plus, there's the precident set by giving wedge that inexplicable x-wing-impossible wingspan and making a tie-pilot that couldn't fit in any tie cockpit I could ever dream up.
