Hey Hasbro! / More Astromech Battle Packs Please
« on: January 28, 2015, 12:01 PM »
Hey Hasbro.

Me and a few friends were discussing droids on Twitter last night.  You know what would be cool?  New Astromech Battle Packs!

One of my favorite things you cranked out during the TPM3D release a few years ago was the Royal Starship Droids Battle Pack.  Before that, you cranked out a couple of sweet Astromech 5-packs exclusively through our pals at Entertainment Earth.

If you could go ahead and do that again for me, that'd be just swell.  Here, I'll even get things started for you - you can include the cancelled BADs from the aborted Droid Factory line - R8-B7 and R5-X2

Pick out a couple more previously unreleased droids from Home One or where ever, contact our pals at Entertainment Earth, and get things rolling.

Thanks!

Your Pal,
Jeff

Rebelscum's Hasbro: The Force Awakens Product Rundown

Nice rumor list from 'scum.  Nothing confirmed, but I wonder if this list "leaked" to help stem some of the "OMG 3.75inch Star Wars figures are dead" rumors out there?

The Black Series 3.75" / Toy Fair 2015
« on: January 5, 2015, 10:58 AM »
I'll kick off this thread with some news sent to us by Hasbro today...

Hasbro will be exhibiting a variety of fun and exciting Star Wars products from across its portfolio of brands, including Star Wars action figures, Star Wars Galactic Heroes and more. There will be no toys based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Star Wars Episode VII) shown at Toy Fair this year.

No Ep7 stuff.  Probably not a big surprise since it's so early... and it gives them something exciting to tease at Celebration in April with a bigger Ep7 reveal at SDCC.

Hot Wheels new "Elite" Series offers up its first Episode VII product announcement -

Star Wars The Force Awakens New Starship Hot Wheels Elite Die-Cast Vehicle - Coming in May 2016 ($69.99)

"From Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, comes this 1:18 scale Hot Wheels Elite Starship Hot Wheels Elite Die-Cast Vehicle. The Force Awakens Starship measures approximately 6-inches long and features opening parts and attachable landing gear. The Force Awakens Starship Includes a display stand and is packaged in a polyfoam closed black box. More details to come."

EE has a few other "Eilte Series" too... ANH X-Wing, ESB TIE Fighter, and ROTJ Falcon.  They say 1:18 scale, but if the Falcon is only 6" long that's obviously NOT a real 1:18 scale. :P

Starting a thread for these...  CollectionDX has a new look at the Stormtrooper figure.

I think the flint-lock E11 is my favorite part...  he'll look great with the previously announced Darth Vader figure.

Starting a separate thread for these...

The Darth Vader kit has been released in Japan.  Gunjap has a great photoreview of what comes in the kit for those that are curious to see.

The Stormtrooper kit should be out in December.

Other Collectibles / Tamashii (Bandai) S.H.Figuarts Star Wars Figures
« on: October 31, 2014, 12:40 PM »
Hmm... we don't have a thread for these yet?  Odd.  Now we do, I guess.   :D

In addition to the previously revealed Darth Vader and Stormtrooper figures, Bandai Tamashii Nations are planning ANH Han Solo and ANH Luke Skywalker figures too.

Han and Luke prototypes are apparently on display at the Tamashii Nations 2014 event at Akihabara, which is going on this week.  Despite all the NO PHOTOS ALLOWED signs surrounding the figures, pics are starting to pop up online

It's worth noting that the Tamashii Nations event is notorious for revealing/showing items that are NOT intended for release yet.  There are often prototypes displayed for informational purposes (highlighting figures that were sculpted but ultimately rejected for retail due to cost or other issues) or prototypes that are being displayed to gauge fan reaction in order to determine whether they should be released or scrapped.  Not saying this is for sure the case with Han and Luke, but you never know...

I'll be attending NYCC this year, including Hasbro's 'Twas the Night Before party on Wednesday October 8th, so I thought I'd start up a thread...

The Hasbro party invite is promising "new reveals" for Star Wars - sure hope that means NEW new reveals and not just stuff they've already teased or shown in press pics.   :P

The Bullpen / Marvel "Super Awesome Me" Action Figures
« on: September 18, 2014, 11:18 AM »
Get your own Super Awesome Marvel 12" Iron Man or Captain America figure!

Quote
Think you'd look just as good as Tony Stark in an Iron Man suit? Beginning this week, you can test that theory for real.

Hasbro and 3DPlusMe are teaming on the Super Awesome Me experience, allowing kids of all ages to see their face on a customized Iron Man or Captain America action figure. The initiative launches on Friday as part of Disney Consumer Products' Marvel Super Hero September in 10 Walmart and two Sam's Club stores around the country.

Locations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston will be outfitted with special in-store scanning stations where the machine will capture the likeness of potential superheroes, folks choose between the two characters, and their Super Awesome Me toy — a personalized 12-inch articulated figure with a full-color printed head for $45 — will be available to pick up at Walmart stores or shipped to Sam's Club members in four weeks.

Visit SuperAwesomeMe.com for a complete list of participating stores
.

I wonder how long before Disney does this for Clone Troopers and/or Stormtroopers...?   :D
