Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Ghosts
« on: September 24, 2003, 03:22 PM »
If you ever took a little time to read the numerous books on ghosts (and the like) you'd also know that NOT everyone turns into a ghost when they die.

Most that "believe" in ghosts will tell you that most ghosts are just unsettled souls. People that probably died that really weren't ready.

I do believe in ghosts... though I also am a believer that we all have set time to go. So though I do believe in the unrested/unsettled soul thing... I also see the contradiction.

Also understand ghosts do NOT always have to have a form. That small breeze or squeak can be a ghost (in my belief anyway)... and yes can also be house, wood, etc settling. I have a very close friend that has the ability to see ghosts quite vividly... I also believe he has no reason to bulls**t me.

I live in a very old city and the former home of Lizzie Borden. There are many houses here in the city that people have experienced odd behavior and the like...

Take it for what it's worth... I respect your opinion but also let's not act like we know it all... and there is absolutely no way ghosts can exist.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: CLONE VALUE PKS VS. CLONE MULTI PKS
« on: September 24, 2003, 12:40 AM »
This is easily done.
You hit WalMart prime time when the store is jammed and the line at the service desk is long. No employee is going to check the back of the card... nevermind the fact that there is a 99% chance they don't know the difference on the cardback or not.

I wouldn't chock that up to stupidity on their part. Although pointing it out to when you see it can help.

I can truly say w/ 100% conviction that I do not believe any WalMart store is cutting these intentionally. I mean even on their slowest day WalMart has a lot more to do than have someone sit out back and pay them to cut cards in half on value packs. Also how would they ring up the Clone figure w/ no bar code?

It's just some scumbag returning the no army builder and getting his army established for free. Basically robbing them... plain and simple.

Chris,

Not trying to be an *** but some of the prices listed might make things a little harder to move.

One I noticed quickly was the Jabba and Han beast for $17. I have a hard time moving these at $4...

Just a heads up on what I feel could help ya.
Don't take it as me trashing your thread man.. not my intent at all.

The Hoth wave is definitely on tap for Nov. As some may know I work pt time for an online store and we got our list order today for that wave.

Can't wait on that!  :o

After making collectors wait for their "ultimate" Return Jabba we get that.  ::)

And yes that is the Jabba Glob though I mentioned that way back on August 10th in these very same forums... Guess no one pays attention

Jim,

Where in MA are you? I'm down in SE MA and found several sets of the two packs. I own probably 12-15... Yup they actually hung around here for a little at one Wally.

I did a show in NJ this weekend (I work pt time for Yestertoys) and saw a guy there selling the two packs at $15 a piece and believe it or not he sold every one he had. Sad... but who's to blame really...

As far as the one shot deal it's the truth. Once Wally has no more that's it for them...

This movie is exactly the life of working in an office.
Judge just nailed everything about it.

What's funny is I watch this regularly and my 12 yr old son actually watches it w/ me and laughs himself.
We are constantly walking aroundthe house quoting lines... From my 12 yr old, to my wife, to myself...

Good stuff... Funny thing is I still laugh after all the times I have watched this one...

"Two chicks at the same time... Always wanted to do that"

Collections / How do you display?
« on: September 18, 2003, 03:05 PM »
I dig checking out other people's collections to get a taste of what they collect and also for how it's displayed.

One major pet peeve of mine though is people that display their vintage and modern together. It might just be the anal collector I me but I just do not dig it.

I think IMHO it should be seperate. It was a different time and place. Also the fact that most vintage just look very out of place w/ any of the modern line.

Here's just a very small look at how I display things.
I have around 12 bookcases in the room and stuff in storage on top of that...

Hopefully I get a chance to snap pics soon of the room at least  ;)

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Value packs
« on: September 18, 2003, 11:02 AM »
The reason they aren't doing this all the time is because Hasbro needed to do some major ***  :P w/ WalMart. This was it... Could it happen again? Sure it could  ;)

Thing is Wally cancelled on their exclusives and really were not buying much at all including Clone Wars product... Hasbro knows WalMart is an account that you need and want to support a line of any kind. So sometimes you need to do what ya gotta do...

This is a money maker for WalMart and that is pretty obvious by the lack of these value packs anywhere. There was no way they could pass on it. Although this was a one shot deal...

However many were received by each store was it. There is no replenishing of these...

Hopefully everyone that wanted made out w/ at least a set...

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Future Waves?
« on: September 17, 2003, 07:35 PM »
OK...

I haven't much more aside from the little more I posted a few days ago...

I have heard there is a moisture vaporator planned but not sure in what form it'll see release. If they Lars Screen Scene does come to fruition... then it could definitely be part of that. Though I think we'll see one even the Lars Scene doesn't pan out...

Madine has been on various internal lists from a long time now... I mean a few years. I haven't heard of a definite for 2004 though I think if anytime it'll be next year w/ such a heavy collector focus.

Believe it or not there was mention of an Ackbar in his chair once... ***drool***  :o

I think we still have some big surprises for 2004...  ;)

As for a Lars speeder... I have not heard of one at all. I also have not heard of a new Tarkin... but again things change daily at times.

I can look into some of this stuff a little further and see what I dig up.

Not sure about seeing...

Autographs
Wave 2 Cantina
Posters (Film and Action figure)
Misc. Fanclub items (passes, patches, etc)
Mini Legos

Much of what is mentioned above is not Habro product. The wave 2 Cantina could be part of it though seeing as these are still due to see release not sure they'll go w/ them on that venue.

As for prototypes... There is actually a very good chance we'll see a few on the auction block. I have heard a few that are supposedly going up even... They are Hasbro property and therefore they can do as they wish w/ them. The reason Hasbro has puts the smack down is because people selling them do not belong w/ them in the first place.

It's no different than MR offering Artist Proofs to their Gold circle members.

Hasbro also won't be making anything on these prototypes if they do run some off on the auction block...
So from what I have gathered there is actually a pretty good chance at seeing so out there...
