Title: 30AC #36 General Grievous (Pre-Cyborg)
Post by: Matt on April 27, 2007, 07:59 PM
From, http://thejawa.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2295

1) What kind of articulation will the Pre-Cyborg General Grievous figure have being released later this year

He has a ball joint neck, ball and socket shoulders, bicep, knees, hip and waist. There are some other nice surpises, but you'll have to wait until we reveal him fully.

SWEET, I think the surprise is the Bacta Tank version of him, which is mostly just his torso, head, and upper arms.

No, I mean we might get the Bacta Tank version with him since it wouldn't be a whole figure.

That'd be cool. Though we'd need a Bacta Tank re-paint.

That would be very cool of them

How would Hasbro cram a Bacta Tank in the card though? The existing Tank dosen't need an update. Hasbro would have to re-tool it.

Not the tank, just the Bacta Tank Grievous.

I guess this is a good choice of figure to release, but this is where Hasbro is loosing me. It's not their fault, they have to put something out. I'm just not as attached to the EU characters.

Not the tank, just the Bacta Tank Grievous.
But it'll be weird to have just a stump with no Bacta Tank.

Well Anton he's technically a movie charcater. ;)

I think Hasbro's doing a generally good balance on EU so far...  They're trying to slip in main characters, then things like Fel (and assuming Wedge) in a 2-pack is trying to appeal to people who are on the fence with EU since these figures will "fit in" really nicely with the movie figures...

The Marvel packs I think are their inexpensive way of testing the waters more than them liking the Marvel source material...  The Grievous figure is an odd choice to me, mostly because it's sort of a stand-alone, but he was a pretty popular character in '05 so I guess they're just going with that.  Kind of like the EU Maul figures attempting to cash in on Maul madness.

I like the idea though, I'll enjoy displaying him with hopefully a new Grievous figure someday (till then, the deluxe one will have to suffice).
