Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Coming Soon.......
« on: November 28, 2005, 06:20 PM »
Ok...that's a republic commando, but is it 12 inch, or 3.75 inch? The paintjob looks good just from the preview :)

Anyone else think they've gone off the deep end with making them next to impossible to open? <or to put back together in close to the original condition>I finally cracked open Bariss Offee tonight...not only were the tabs a royal pain to pick apart without wrecking anything <hey, i'm a careful opener LOL> but once i got the tray with the figure out, her cape was SEWN to the cardboard in two spots! That's fine, then i notice they used regular electrical wire instead of twist ties. Does hasbro just want people to throw the boxes away once the figures have been opened?  Or am i just a crazy packrat? LOL Thanks for letting me vent everyone...Bariss would make a kickass Assaj Ventress too...she's bald under the balaclava thing under her cloak hood...just a little paint and a pair of custom sabers, different top and voila!

Star Wars Action Figures / SA Commander Bacara
« on: November 20, 2005, 06:45 PM »
I saw a post on snowtroopers the other day about swapping bacara's armor pieces and helmet onto a better body. First i tried swapping the pieces onto the #33 Red Commander body, with no success...<the back piece was too large for the shoulder pauldron harness to fit around. I tried again with the #6 clone...everything fit...with the exception of the kama <the skirt piece> Then i heard of someone trying it with a #41 SA Clone trooper...here's my attempt...

Sorry about the picture quality, but the camera has a fixed focus lens...not very good at detail unfortunately :(

Episode 1 / Re: How many episode 1 figs do you have?
« on: November 20, 2005, 03:43 PM »
up til last july, the only episode I memorabilia i had, aside from the Pizza hut game pieces, was a Queen Amidala <hidden identity> figure from KFC <coincidentally, the Padme figurine is the same size scale as the regular 3 inch figures>...Then in july i came across a MINT Darth Maul <Tatooine> at a flea market for 9 bucks...then i picked up a loose Qui-Gon <it's the same as the one in the Jedi Council set, so i'm guessing it's the Jedi master one>. I went back around labor day and picked up a 12 inch Qui-Gon <again, mint, or as close to it as i could get> for 25...lastly around Canadian Thanksgiving <Oct 10th> I scored a 12 inch Darth Maul off a guy from Snowtroopers who lives in winnipeg for 15. Don't hate me cause i'm lucky LOL :D:D:D:D

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: 12 inch Clone wars Obiwan
« on: November 18, 2005, 12:00 PM »
Thanks for the comments folks :) I'm sorry about the picture quality, but my only digicam is the one built into my Palm. It does the job, but as you can see, not too great on detail. I would have used my webcam, but IT washes out the color LOL. I'll try and see if i can borrow my brother's digi and take some new ones. In the meantime, Thanks for the feedback, this is the first time i've done anything on this scale, and i'm happy with how it turned out :D

I know, i'd just finished it when i posted...hadn't had time to take pix LOL...but here you go: http://photobucket.com/albums/b174/Richardthebloody

Right now i'm just using the Robe from an episode I Maul, but i have the cloth, i just have to get around to sewing up a jedi robe out of the brown cloth i have...and i didn't use the lightsaber i made for it because my camera doesn't do very well with closeup detail. Love it? hate it? Lemme know :D

Star Wars Action Figures / RichardTheBloody's Custom Figures
« on: November 17, 2005, 07:19 PM »
WOOOT!!! I finally did it! I took put my AOTC 12 inch Obiwan Head onto the body of the ROTS Clone trooper <anyone else know they had 2 piece heads? The helmet itself, then a neck piece/spacer plug> I actually did it last night but i was too chicken to take the neck piece off the clone, leaving obiwan's neck a tad too long... Pics to follow. Now i just have to sew up a jedi Robe...i have the cloth, and i was going to use Maul's as a template, cause i'm leaving the Episode I Qui-Gon unopened  :D:D:D:D:D

1:6 Scale Figures and Collectibles / Re: 12" Luke Jedi
« on: November 8, 2005, 05:46 PM »
probly cause not everyone can afford $200 or thereabouts for a Japanese figure...not to mention the cost of shipping...I could be wrong about it tho, but I think the Sideshow one will be just as good <what? i can hope can't i? I just hope they're available up here in Hoth Central>

wonder if it looks like the Medicom one, only at Sideshow's prices...

i Dunno if this is what you're looking for, but this is the best picture i could find http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/4584519/ctid/17/INstock/Y/D/

That IS the jedi luke you're talking about right? It looks like he does indeed have the same type of neck as the AOTC Obiwan.  Incidentally, Isn't the Jedi outfit luke wears the same as Dooku's? It would seem kind of ironic in ROTJ that luke was wearing a similar outfit to the man Anakin killed 23 years prior.

<edit:>I had a question about which type of dragon body you used for Count Dooku? I was trying to get the head off my own tonight and the neck peg stretched, then snapped :(...i don't imagine something like that is easily repairable, tho as long as i leave him in one pose <say like the Unleashed Tyrannus> he's ok...So much for trying to make a jedi luke outta that:(

I don't have a KB around so I ordered one on-line.  My email said shipping on 12/17/04 so looks like the cat will have one more present to put under the tree from her to me  ;).

Hey beth, did you notice if Chewie's knees bend at all, or if they're solid plastic? I have to ROTS one and i'm too chicken to open it LOL <only opened one ROTS 12 in clone and i don't wanna have to deal with THAT nightmare again>

132
What are these 12 inch figures? Are they customs?

They're Customs all right...The Commander Gree is especially impressive, as is Cody Whoever did them did a spectacular job. They must have glued the hands around the gun because the fingers on my clone are way too loose...unless they're all like that. Same plastic they used to make the 3.75 inch Aayla?

133
My GF got one for me the other day...it's approximately 14.5 inches tall...course i haven't taken it outta the box, which is a couple inches taller than the box for the 12 inch ROTS palpatine or clone trooper...side by side, palpatine's only up to chewie's shoulder, so it's on the right scale at least LOL. If i'm not mistaken, it's the same figure as the KB VOTC chewie, just with a wookie blaster instead of a bowcaster...either way, have i got the best GF in the world or WHAT?! :D
