Joe Defender / Re: G.I. Joe Toys Thread

The only way I can see myself buying Sigma 6 is if they are still around five years from now and my son wants them.  I am not interested in them at all.  They look OK, but they are nothing special IMO.

Pictures of DTC wave 3 are on ebay.  Brians Toys is selling them.  Larger pictures were posted at adctalk.com.  They are all made from previously used parts, but I am fine with that.  I like all of the figures except for the Cobra Soldier.  I will buy one each of Lowlight, Med Alert and the SAW Viper.  I may or may not buy Monkey Wrench.  I will buy three of Grand Slam.  He is my favorite figure from the wave.  One will be kept as is, one will be turned into a silver pads version and one will be turned into Flash by painting the gloves and boots brown and the knee pads and elbow pads red.

Greedo
Tusken Raider
either a Jawa or Death Squad Commander

ESB
Bespin Luke
Hoth Han
Hoth Leia
Hoth Stormie

ESB
Endor Han
Biker Scout
Endor Leia
Jedi Luke or Endor Luke

The slow mo replay of that Culpepper shot to the leg was almost as hard to watch as Joe Thiesman's broken leg play.  The only good part about this is that he won't have to suffer playing through the rest of this lost year.  The whole team lacks heart and hopefully will be blown up and started over next year.  Every coach needs to go at the least. Maybe another staff will be able to get something out of these players.  It will probably be a while before they are decent again, though.  The only solace Viking fans have is that the Packers have it just as bad, but that really isn't much comfort.  I have tickets to next week's game, but I don't know if I want to go.  I will be surprised if they win 2 more games this year.

Hopefully the city is in one piece after today what with all the celebrating.  I suppose it would be worse had the Cubs won.  Congratulations on ending the long drought, Chicago.  :)

I'll most likely buy this line.  I liked the last DC Heroes line that Hasbro put out a few years back.  Too bad it didn't continue.  I'll pass on the Batman from the first wave, since he looks to be the Batman from the Mattel comic line.  I will buy Bane and Scarecrow along with Bizarro and Doomsday.  The Superman and Supergirl are maybes.

There is a list posted at yojoe.com about the third wave of Hasbro Direct.  The ones I'm interested in are Grand Slam, the Cobra Trooper and Lowlight if that list is accurate.  I'll buy two Grand Slams and make one into Flash.  Two interesting Comic packs are also listed,  the DD fans choice #16 with Cover Girl, Spirit and Hannibal, and Marvel Issue 26 with SE, Stalker and SS possibly in their Vietnam gear.
There should be a wave four also because we've heard about new sculpts for Falcon and Lady Jaye.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: A new Tatooine Luke in TSC?
« on: October 25, 2005, 12:32 PM »
My hope is that they continue with Evolutions and give us 3 good SA Lukes.  Tatooine from ANH, Bespin from ESB and Endor Luke from ROTJ.  He'd have his blue and green lightsabers, a pistol, the Tatooine poncho, hat, binoculars, an Endor poncho and helmet.  I would also take a SA Hoth Luke and an SA X Wing/Snowspeeder Luke.

I found a 10 inch Green Arrow at Target today.  I didn't even know they were making one.  I picked him up, of course.  I really want to see them make 3 3/4 inch versions of Captain Marvel, Hawkman and Hal Jordan.

Sounds good.  I'll take it off your hands.  Thanks.   :D  It sounds like you've gone through a lot to rebuild that Joe collection.  I also collected from 82-86 like yourself.  Those were the best years IMO.  I kept most of my Joes fortunately.  I only sold off the 1982 stuff which doesn't bother me because I have 1983 versions of the originals I like, except for Grand Slam.  I'll pick one up eventually.
The 1997 TRU stuff would have brought me back, but the Stars and Stripes set and the Commando set killed things for me when I saw we were not getting the 1985 SE and the actual originals shown in the prototype photos.  They gave us crap.  I did come back to Joes when the 2000 RAH two packs came out.  I've been back since and now I am waiting to see if Hasbro Direct gives us more than two waves of figures.  I have not seen the Sigma Six in person, but I won't be collecting that line.  I may buy them in a few years for my son if they are still around.

I guess the Astros stepped up and put that HR behind them.  I like seeing teams in the World Series that either have never been in it or haven't won it in a long time.  I don't really care who wins, I just hope it's a good one.

A new, good SA X-Wing Luke would be nice, but they'll probably repack that last POS version they gave us along with the old TIE pilot, Dodonna and a Death Star Trooper.

That HR could be something that kills the Astros.  Plays like that often do in the postseason.  They have great pitching, though, they'll be fine if they can put that hit behind them.

I'll buy the gunner, Moff and Chirpa most likely.   If 3PO has articulated knees and the Endor Rebel is new, I'll buy them, too.  I'm guessing the Luke is the crap Saga preposed horror currently in the Battle Pack, so I'll pass.  I would only buy the Vader if he's the VOTC one.

These 2006 waves are not impressing me so far.  I'll buy me the Clavin figure, Veers and possibly the AT AT Driver, but that's all I need from this wave.  Hasbro is screwing up by going the cheap route and regressing on the articulation.  Why spoil us this year and go backwards next year?  Cheapness will cost them sales.
