Of course, I guess we did just have all that flooding and the mudslides, so I guess it all evens out, eh.   :-\

They had mudslides up in North Vancouver as well.  Not quite as serious as yours, though they put two people in hospital, killed one woman and destroyed a couple or more houses.  Apparently one couple "surfed" right out of their house on the bed on top of the mud :o   I think when mudslides like that happen, they're trying to communicate something about the building location.  At least with snow all we really have to do is hunker down for a while.  That, of course, didn't stop five people from dying on the highways this week :-\

Yes, but subfreezing temepetures are expected through the begining of the week...meaning the ice would stick around.

We're getting hammered here right now, been snowing for about the last 6 hours, and expected to continue for about another 12 - 15. Total snowfall: 12" - 20"  ::)

Eh, we got some snow...  Enough they told people to stay off roads if they can help going out.  Of course that meant I wanted Pizza and had to leave the valley I'm in to get it!  :P

There's a good thing on History Channel about the French Revolution...  It's itneresting to me, as this is something I really don't know much about so maybe you too will like it if you're snowed in with nothing to watch.

Very nice weather yesterday, got to 4.4°C. Had lots of ice on the sidewalk from the snow dripping of the roof. today it's suppose to go to 8°C.  8)

Nice temperatures for the rest of the week if it holds out.

Today .. Cloudy. 30 percent chance of showers early this morning. Wind becoming west 20 km/h this afternoon. High 8.
Tonight .. Clearing early this evening. Wind northwest 20 km/h. Low minus 4.
Tuesday .. Sunny with cloudy periods. High plus 1.
Wednesday .. Cloudy. Low minus 12. High minus 6.
Thursday .. Cloudy. Low minus 8. High zero.
Friday .. Cloudy. Low minus 7. High minus 4.

Road crews were out last night in droves, never saw so many snow removal trucks. Guess they want to get it cleaned up during the melt.

Big winter storm shaping up...Snow/Sleet tommorow to the amount of 1-3 inches followed by Freezing Rain with damaging accumulations. I hope the over 1 million or so people to be affected by this storm (Georgia...Alabama...South Carolina/North Carolina...Tennesse, ect) get out of it ok, but I do hope that travel is slightly impared throughout the weekend... :P

It's been nice here for the past few days, plus temperatures for a change. Today has been the coldest, -9 °C right now and we have been getting a lot of fog lately.

Still looking good for the long range forecast.

Tonight Cloudy. 60 percent chance of freezing drizzle. Fog patches. Low minus 11.
Saturday A mix of sun and cloud. High plus 3.
Sunday Sunny. Low minus 6. High plus 1.
Monday Sunny. Low minus 7. High plus 5.
Tuesday Sunny. Low minus 5. High plus 1.

Hate that freezing rain.  >:(

Been warmer here, but with heat comes wind, so nothing spectacular.  Finally thought I should get off my ass and quit bitching, so I messed with Photobucket for a while, let's see if this works:



That's our front yard.  Not so bad as lots of people get, but that **** stays from November until April or May, without appreciably going down in depth.  The sides of the driveway are about 4 feet deep.

Yeah, I didn't respond to Scott's thread because that drive way is long and thick wide enough to make most guys feel inferior.  No snowblower here, purely manual labour ;)
