Finally snagged a wal-mart DVD clone 3 pack. Really wasn't looking too hard after the DVD release but this one just sort of fell into my hands at an off the beaten path wal-mart.

So, long story short, I got one of these and have experienced the same situation as everyone else with the same solutions. My question is, has anyone had any luck fitting an R2 unit in the droid cavity? The label application instruction sheet says that most R2 units will fit in the cavity but since I don't have a ROTS version open my POTF2 version doesn't fit and my new early bird one doesn't either. My vintage one does but it just doesn't look right. Anyone have any luck with this?

I think I've about had it with all the exclusives and what not this year. I hadn't collected since the POTF2 line came out and after this year I remembered why. At this point I'm thinking about just dumping all of the ROTS stuff I've bought this year and take that cash to focus on the new saga line. I have almost all the VOTC figures I want and as far as new stuff I may just keep those and leave it at that. I'm thinking I'll pick up the entire new Saga line and focus on vintage. Everything else inbetween that isn't a ship or playset just might go. I'm not sure I haven't decided yet. It all depends on if I can complete my run of ROTS figures. I spent so much time chasing the short packs/repaints/variants that I skipped on the peg warmers thinking I'd catch up at clearance and now I'm not so sure, there are just too many damn figures in this run and they all came out too soon. They should have released 20 a year and cut the exclusives way back. IMHO. Then again who knows, I may change my mind. I collect too much stuff, too many lines and I really don't have the time to enjoy any of it.

Hey Hasbro! / I Want A Death Star
« on: November 4, 2005, 05:15 PM »
I'd like to see an updated Death Star Playset. Something that combines the original Kenner and Palitoy version in one playset. Maybe it could be 4 playsets that combine to make a round one. One that house the trash compactor sequence, one for the dual, one for the prison break and another that could be the gunstation. Maybe that's a bit overboard but you get the idea. They could click together and rollup or out. Or just re-release the original.

Ok, In my previous post I went on a rant about the way amazon shipped my last order. I was so ticked about it that I went back on to the amazon site and rated the exclusive Obi Wan star fighter and Holo palpatine I got. I gave the toys a fair review but totally slammed the shipping. I have pictures of how this box arrived and believe me this thing was hosed. So I go to check my email today since I haven't in awhile and there's an email from Amazon about my order. I open it and it's an appology for the condition they arrived in and the email was to inform me that they were sending me out replacements at no charge. Followed by another email stating that the price of each item had dropped to $0.00 and would reflect on my gift certificate. Not what I expected but definately welcome. Now I feel bad about taking the damaged stuff back to TRU. Karma can be fickle and now I feel I owe something back a bit now.

Picked up a red guard, a meena tillis, a wookie heavy gunner, a commander gree, a  utapauan warrior, a R4P17 and 2 Target Shadow Troopers just about an hour ago. I know the wookie has the incorrect insert but I didn't thing the R4P17 did.

I scored 2 of these today at the Target in Hilliard, OH for those in the area. I had to use the DCPI but it wasn't an issue to have them brought out. This figure is pretty slick. Just for toy value (not factoring it's star wars) this toy would draw attention IMHO.

I'll bet it's because most of us who have ordered through amazon before have received damaged figures and don't feel like shelling out that kind of cash just to get a damaged fig.  :P I know my last two orders both arrived smashed.

Ordered the Blue Obi Wan Star Fighter and the Exclusive Holo Emperor from Toy's R Us Amazon store and everything arrived beat to death. The box was so crumpled that I knew right off that the contents were hosed. The back of the figure card was almost folded in half. The stuff was just thrown in with a couple of air bags. Would have killed them to use some bubble wrap and foam peanuts instead? I won't order through Amazon again for Carded/Boxed stuff, just cheap close out stuff for openers. Instead of returning it thought I went to TRU last night and bought the same stuff in better condition, I'm returning the damaged stuff in it's place. I know, it's wrong but I don't want to wait a week or so for a credit from Amazon.

You know, I have issues with the whole re-release thing. I saw the movie originally back in 1977 as a child at a drive-in with my brother. When you're 7-8yrs old and experience something like this movie it has an impact on you. Fast forward to 1997 and there's GL taking a big ol' healthy **** on my memory by what I consider ruining the movie, maybe that's not correct think of it more as ruining my memory. What he did didn't really have a positive or negative impact in my opinion. It's just different. I don't condemn GL for doing what he did, it was his vision even if it is my childhood memory but that's my two cents on the whole thing. I want this on DVD but I can't stand to see the newer versions. I was even more shocked when he went back and added the younger anakin to the end of Jedi. That said, since I didn't pick up the last set of DVD's, although I probably will at some point since it does have the 4th disc. I like the look of this new set and will probably pick it up. For the most part though, if anyone has ANH on laserdisc and want's to come off it let me know. I think I only have empire and jedi on laserdisc and would like to complete the set.

Newbies / Re: Hi everyone, I'm another newbie!

Thanks Everyone! Toledo eh? JC's Comic Stop, one of my favorite shops in a three state area. I haven't been able to make it up that way since Pulido did a signing for Evil Ernie back in 1996. That was back when Steven Hughs was still alive and doing the art. Something tells me I'm going to be spending a lot of my freetime at work here  ;) HA! Freetime, who am I kidding-I don't have any of that. I'll still manage to spend a lot of time here.

Just thought I'd drop a line and let anyone curious know who I am and what not. My name is Charlie, I'm 34 and I live in Columbus, OH right smack between Hilliard, OH and Dublin, OH. For those of you local I'm basically in the back yard of the Tuttle Mall area. I still have some of my original vintage star wars, all loose and well played with along with many various other comics, statues, original comic art and what not. My most prized star wars items are my original complete 12" Darth Vader figure and my Sega Star Wars Trilogy special edition pinball machine purchased back in 1997 through the insider fan club. Star Wars is by no means new to me although I did get burned out from the POTF2 line so I haven't collected since until the ROTS came out. Now, like so many others, my paycheck is heavily rationed to cover bills and compulsive toy shopping ;D Any questions just ask!

When where you there? Either I just missed you or you were the only other guy in the store at the time I bought mine! It was my first stop on my way to Wally world and Best buy which neither of those stops did me any good. Still no twins figures, unleashed vaders were sold out (I'm glad my buddy at work picked me up one on his lunch break) and no chance of a clone 3 pack for the dvd release. I swear that box was cherry before she dropped. Almost made me want to cry :'( Good to see someone else local on here.

Got one! Kay Bee Toys in Tuttle Mall in Dublin Ohio. They had two but when the associate got down the first one for me she dropped it on the corner of the ladder putting a fist size hole in the side of the box. I took the other one. :) Still one there though for someone who doesn't care that the box is dinged hard.
