So, how does that list match up to the figures that Sandtroopers had shown?

Wave ???
'11 CW44 Ahsoka (Season 3)
'11 CW45 Anakin Skywalker (Season 3)
'11 CW46 Aqua Droid
'11 CW47 El-Les
'11 CW48 Clone Commander Wolffe

Wave 21
'11 CW49 Riot Control Clone Trooper
'11 CW50 Barriss Offee
'11 CW51 Eeth Koth
'11 CW52 Clone Commander Colt

It's like #44-48 figure should have been a wave, but they got skipped for some reason (or delayed or whatever)?   ???

They need to cut back on ARF Trooper. Find another repack. Cody, too.

That makes no sense. The Sandtrooper data was based on the actual cardback photos and numbering. I know those aren't always 100% accurate, like with the Cad Bane in Clone disguise figure, but it would still seem pretty solid. Hasbro must really be doing a lot of last minute shuffling with that line right now.

If true though, it's still a strong wave and Barriss should be outstanding.

The Figure that I'm the most anxious for is Barriss Offee.  I've been waiting years for another Barriss Offee figure.

OK, they said at Toy Fair that this wave is technically 2011 Spring Wave 3, but it could hit at the same time or a little earlier than Wave 2 which is what caused some confusion.

Here's the official run-down on this wave:
'11 CW49 Riot Control Clone Trooper
'11 CW50 Barriss Offee
'11 CW51 Eeth Koth
'11 CW52 Clone Commander Colt

Was Colt shown in their display? I don't think I saw him...

I love his gear...  He's a Coruscant Security Commander then?  I can't affod to plunk down $8 for just a shield and baton, but it's cool gear.

I think you might be disappointed, apparently she has no ankles.

Luckily this is not something I care about too much, but it does open the door for them to upgrade in the future.

Those freakishly... er, freakish, I guess... brainworms were a surprising add. I thought Hasbro would include one small tiny worm that maybe you could plug into her nose :P but I guess they can also be worn as a weird outfit, too!

Does anyone know the exact release date for these figures?

BBTS has them up for pre-order now, and both this and Wave 2 are estimated as March 2011. That's about as exact as we are likely to get.

I am hoping both waves hit at once, as with TVC Waves 4 and 5. They are really falling behind on this line right now.

Case assortments and updated photos are available for this wave at EE. Commander Jet remains MIA.  :(

Wouldn't want Jet taking case space away from Commander Cody, Capt. Rex and ARF Trooper, would we?

Really, ARF Trooper...they could at least ship the camo one, since apparently it's the only style of generic clone they will reship.

Seriously - why when there is a more recent repaint of the figure aren't they shipping the repaint instead of the original? Or better yet, why not just throw in a new paint-op with a new figure number and still keep using the same mold.

The ARF Trooper is turning into the biggest peg-warmer of this line, he's just in TOO MANY cases at this point.

What would have been the harm in having the Aqua Droid carried forward from Wave 2 into this case?
Title: Re: Clone Wars Wave 22 (Spring 2011 Wave 3)
Post by: Scockery on March 20, 2011, 04:51 PM
Their carry forward policy is strange, especially since most of the new figures are one-per-case, except the new Anakin, which gets carried forward!

I'd hate to be a kid collecting this line. I In the old days, there was time to save you money and buy what you wanted. Nowdays, a month goes by and some of the stuff is gone from stores forever.
Title: Re: Clone Wars Wave 22 (Spring 2011 Wave 3)
Post by: Darby on March 20, 2011, 05:14 PM
The prevelance of the ARF trooper is mystifying.  Maybe it's a big seller, but it doesn't seem like it.  It would make sense to have a regular grunt clone out there, but there hasn't been one in the basic CW line forever.

You have to act fast with this line.  The shelf life of most figures is a month (Embo, Draa, Boba Fett, Thi Sen, Jar Jar, etc...).  I've been very lucky as when the stuff hits, it hits hard.  But then, poof.  Gone.

I can get you Embo, Draa and possibly little Fett right now, at almost any Wal-Mart in my area...  Including Cato Parasitti, and El Les is already showing initial stages of pegwarming.

Draa's a little less though...  Embo's I see almost everywhere, even Target.  I'm shocked, partially because he was a nice figure, but ultimately I think this line goes with the same basic ideas Hasbro has always insisted are true...  Secondary guys aren't as popular, random aliens sort of fall flat (no matter how cool the figure ultimately is)...

I agree on a basic Clone not being out.  How they've overlooked that is beyond me, unless they consider the Legends/Vintage overlapping enough of those guys to satisfy the demand...  I dunno.  I see the ARF Trooper around for sure though, but I see most of everything from CW around in some relatively decent supply.  It's always the newest that is the hardest to track down.

I never saw anything from that last wave on the red cards though...  Hondo, Thi Sen and the Tactical Droid...  Those were the only CW figures I've never seen in stores.

The sad thing is, we've seen (almost) nothing of what would follow this wave in the TCW line, so for all we know they will just take a few months off until SDCC as in the past. That pushes Jet back even further into limbo.

I'd love to see a whole "lost" wave for this summer with Jet, Hondo, Aayla, and even the Cad Bane in Disguise figure. How sweet would that be?

It would be very sweet. There was an ARF Trooper shown at Toy Fair with red and gray markings that also appears to be in limbo. Hasbro has already invested in developing the figures, so why not release/rerelease them? Unlike Legacy figures like the Scanning crew or Utai, figures like Jet and the ARF are not boring and would probably sell fairly well.

They did a great job on him. It seems that Hasbro puts more energy on the Jedi figures that exclude Obi, Ani, and Ahsoka, for some reason. They went all-out on Eeth Koth.

The reasoning for this on Hasbro's part is simple:  Eeth Koth they only want to have to make one time.  All the others you have listed they will minor tweak each time they make them so you have a "reason"  ;)  to purchase them.

You know what, that's actually true. I wouldn't be surprised to eventually see a SA Obi and Ani (Season 3 looks) with soft goods eventually down the line.

This wave may be out now, there has been a sudden surge in eBay auctions for the whole lot carded, from US sellers too. I've seen at least one unconfirmed report of a sighting at TRU too, for what it's worth.

My local store gets a truck tomorrow, so we'll see.

No luck.  :(

Figures, because what are the odds of actually finding anything new at a TRU when they are actually running a sale you could take advantage of?  ::)

JTA is reporting this wave has been spotted in CA as well, but they neglected to mention WHICH STORE.

All of the eBay listings except one from TN are from southern CA. It looks like we may have another week to wait on the East Coast.

Yeah,  no doubt that seems like a lot of stuff out West first.  Funny, but lately the East Coast was getting a lot of the initial new stuff to hit...  Not common in the hobby, but it was happening.  Now it's back to the old grind maybe.

These days, it seems that TCW stuff always makes it out before TVC, so I wouldn't be surprised to see this wave make it into my local stores in the next few weeks, while the TVC AOTC wave and beyond remains in limbo. ::)

I found them all this morning at a TRU as well, but at $9 a pop, I wish I had found them at Target instead.  :-\

It's a great wave but Barriss is easily my favorite. I may pass getting openers of the others but definitely not her. The outstanding likeness more than makes up for any articulation concerns, IMO.

No sign of Commander Jet in the case assortment either. Not that I expected him, but it would be cool if they snuck him in somehow in the next wave or two.

After countless trips through all the local stores, I finally had to break down and pick these up on the secondary market. As much as I hate to resort to it, the fact that I have not even had a sniff of this wave in the wild and with gas trading with gold futures it made sense. The figures are worth the work to find them though. The barriss is the best of the lot. She jumps right off the small screen. Now the wait begins for those battle packs.

I like that he'll sport both antenna headgear.  I may have to pick it up just for that accessory alone.
