I'm not sure how legit this is, but Nerdist (https://nerdist.com/article/star-wars-lando-calrissian-tv-show-canon/) was talking about the possibility of a Lando series.
While Lando isn't my favorite character, I think this could certainly be as entertaining as The Mandalorian.
I'd still love to see a Han Solo series, but heck, a "Scoundrels" series that moves between several main characters (Han, Lando, etc.) would be cool.

Maybe. There's a lot of cool stuff they could do with a gambler/conman like Lando in his early days, but I also don't want them to depart too much from who he was in the OT. Would be cool if Han & Chewie were a part of it though.

The galaxy’s favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, will return in Lando, a brand-new event series for @DisneyPlus. Justin Simien is in the early stages of developing the project

So few details.
I wonder if Donald Glover will be Lando...

I hope so. I really hope so.

The rumors have been that both Billy Dee Williams and Donald Glover will be playing Lando. Think Young Indiana Jones.

I'm feeling pretty good about this series! It looks like the Falcon will come into play, so we could be looking at some of Lando's adventures prior to the events of SOLO. If that's the case I'm hoping that Phoebe Waller-Bridge will reprise her role as L3-37, because she was pretty good in that role.
There seems to be some potential for interaction with Crimson Dawn based on some things that Lando said to Qi'ra. And that mention of Lando owing Aurra Sing? I'd like to see that character pay off in live action, too.

This could be the stories that Lando is capturing in his video journal that we see him working on in Solo. Old Lando could start the episode reminiscing about one of the videos and then jump into the "young Lando" era for the story.

Wow, good call I would love more L3. They were a great Duo.

If they don't do a version of Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu...this whole thing is a waste of time! ;D

Donald Glover and Brother Stephen to Write ‘Lando’ Series at Disney+ as Justin Simien Exits (https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/donald-glover-stephen-write-lando-series-disney-justin-simien-exits-1235681988/)

That's all well and good. But who's going to actually start writing this while we're still in the middle of the WGA and SAG/AFTRA strikes?
-
Will this popularize Lando enough so his figures stop pegwarming? ;D
-
This is awesome!
I’d love to see a ton of these series. Lando. Solo. Qi’ra Black Sun.

I read this the other day and while I'm happy this is moving forward (Donald and his brother are excellent writers) I'm curious how they are getting around the writer's guild strike.

I think I remember Favreau saying he wrote the first episode of the Mandalorian in a one day of christmas break. I guess a creative person can write on their own free time and not hand over a script until after a strike?
Also, I'm happy for the development. Donald being on board and driving/flying this is likely a good source of momentum to make this go.

Donald Glover’s ‘Star Wars’ Series ‘Lando’ Is Now a Movie (https://variety.com/2023/film/news/lando-movie-donald-glover-star-wars-1235723736/)
Hoping this Lando movie bucks the trend and actually does make it to the big screen. It would be cool to see a Solo/Chewie/Falcon cameo, but I understand totally if they want this to be it's own thing.
-
I hope it works out too, but honestly if they weren't happy with the Solo movie, I'm not sure how they'll ever be happy with a Lando movie.
I'll be honest, Lando is a B character in the Star Wars universe and I think whatever they do would likely work a lot better as a series than a movie where there are much higher expectations.

Could be a direct to D+ movie...
