A few more vintage figs added.  I still have 4 more to put up.

Does anyone know where I can see close up pics of this new wave of figures?  I am trying to decide whether or not to get Gil Galad and Elendil.  I don’t visit any LOTR collecting sites, so I haven’t seen any decent pictures yet.

Well done to Kelly Holmes for winning both middle distance golds (the 800m, and then the 1500m tonight)  :-*

A worthy winner, IMO.

I wouldn’t call Star Wars a “Sci-Fi” movie though.  If it is, it’s only a smallish ingredient in the mix.  I mean it’s fairly sci-fi in style, but not really in its themes.

And GNT locked the thread about Robz...  Kinda funny unto itself.   :D

True, but I probably would have locked it too  ;)....very rarely have I seen a thread go so OT.

Why did you leave Rob?

Unfortunately I can’t say because it could get a couple of people (including myself) in trouble and I’d still like to be able to post there occasionally :)

I left on good terms with the Admins, but I would have actually preferred to have stayed in the job.  I wasn’t forced out, but under the circumstances (which I can’t talk about ;)) I just felt I had to give it up.

I say "Meh" to the whole thing, but I shudder since I have a feeling who will become the new mods. Durge...... General Windu........ Mushimarumushu...........

Durge and GNT would probably try and ban each other
No, that doesn’t work. I know because I tried to ban Josh several times, but to no avail :)

LOL -  I think I know you!

The "Mike" part of your user name was the main clue  ;)

Did you know that Carl posts here too? That's 3 of us IOP escapees now  ;D

Got these the other day:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=56306&item=5914875533

At first I only wanted the Logray and intended to sell the other 4 and so get my Ewok for "free".  But when they arrived I couldn't give up my 5 near mint clear-bubble palitoys! Even the 2 Tri-Logos were in very good shape.

I realise that I might come across as mean, but as noted in the post above, feedback can be very important…a good rating can give you an edge especially if you’re a seller trying to shift one of those bloody Ep1 Padmés :)

I just don’t think it’s fair when I actually DO provide a service as fast as Amazon that I should be sweating on what a crank buyer might post about me.

It’s why I prefer to deal on forums where I often know the person I’m trading with and can get any problems (none yet!) sorted out before it gets unpleasant.

To my mind feedback should only be left once the deal is over.  If for some reason the deal fell through or the item got lost and I had to give a refund it would be a “no-sale”. Therefore, why would I leave feedback before I know the item has arrived safely?  I bank cheques as soon as they arrive, pack items perfectly, and send the item the same day that the funds clear. I email the buyer at every stage of the process.  Why should I go to all this effort and risk being left negative feedback by one of the nuts out there?  The customer being happy is as much part of their end of the deal as much as is their obligation to send the money.

I was once threatened with negative feedback for late delivery by a very unpleasant buyer.  Now, I had posted the item as soon as the payment cleared, but the postal service was very slow that month.  How is that my fault?  One of the reasons it turned out OK was because I hadn’t left feedback yet and so the buyer couldn’t post lies about me without fear of comeback.

When I’m buying (and it’s 50-50 with me on eBay) I always leave feedback first.  It’s only polite to let the seller know that the item has arrived safe and well, and to thank them for their efforts.  For all the horror stories you hear, there are some great sellers out there who take a lot of care with their packaging and they deserve the credit when it’s due.

This is why I have never had to leave negative or neutral feedback, and why my own record is 205 @ 100% positive.

And another point is that feedback isn’t compulsory.

What is the name of that song that they play at sporting events...it goes "It's a Beautiful Day"

It’s called “Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of”.  I know because in the video Bono and the lads are at one of those strange games you guys play (the one with weirdly shaped ball).  So I’m guessing some sort of sport association right there ;)

Vintage Kenner / Re: Tell me about trilogo carded figures please?
« on: August 16, 2004, 01:56 PM »
I will most likely be getting some Tri-Logos if I can find some with good bubbles.  To me, anything made by Palitoy - UK, Tri-Logo or German cards - is better than buying ROTJ Kenners.

I am only just starting to collect vintage MOCs but I'd like to stick with Palitoys if I can, and given the rarity of many SW and ESB cards, I will not hesitate to pick up C8+ Tri-Logos if I get the chance.
