Nice. :) More Wookiees for good Wookiee diversity in our armies.
-
Looking forward to this vehicle.
Lots and lots o' Wookiees. I've already got a start on my army with Yarua, 2 Sneak Preview Warriors, 1 leaked Tarfful, and a few different Chewies.
-
Oh, I'm all over this. ;D
-
I hate it when vehicles coem with figures becuase then i have to buy them. I normally dont collect vehicles. Damn me for wanting all the figures.
-
I really want Hasbro to make a Wookie Catamaraan (sp?). However, I think that will go into the wishlist that will never be with AT-TE, Sith Infiltrator, Blockade Runner, etc.
I am glad to see the Helicopter made. I will take another Wookie gladly.
-
Definitely glad to see this item pop up. The more Wookiees the better! I guess this is going to be part of the Battle Vehicle assortment.
-
Another Wookiee is great, but I am more excited to see another vehicle. The more the better.
:P
-
I'm all over this as well. Pretty much anything Wookiee sounds good to me, I look forward to seeing some pics of this though.
-
Here's a pick from the new Hasbro product catalogue - Wookie looks REALLY pre-posed to fit in the vehicle, but IMHO, I'd rather have that then no figure that fits in it at all...

-
That Wookie helicopter has got me going, pretty cool. 8)
-
Yeah, this Wookiee Flyer looks quite cool, and I'm really looking forward to it. Even though we haven't seen it on screen yet, I'm actually hoping we get quite a bit of Kashyyyk/Wookiee based stuff. It looks like, and I'm guessing, that the wookiee warrior included is just preposed (just like the other figures included with the beasts/vehicles in this particular collection), but since we're getting a couple other flavors of poseable wookiees, its ok just to have that one to sit in the 'copter :).
-
Well most people gripe that the regular figures do not fit in their starfighters, etc. So getting a preposed figure is better than nothing at all IMO. Pretty cool. Glad we are getting it.

Thanks for copying out the pic, Pete.
I like it. I'll be sure to add this to my collection. The pre-posed wookiee is a little disappointing, but par for the course for these smaller vehicles so far (like the BARC or AT-RT).
Jeff
-
ok that's prettty cool and well, at least we KNOW the wookie will fit :P
depending upon how he looks, unlike rubbery grevious with his hotwheel bike, this looks cool.
-
Simple solution.
I can see a thin line on the knees, I think. Rotate them, or pop and saw, and then swap the feet. Then he's a standing wookie. :)

The more I see this the more I like it. I will get at least two of them.
:P

Hasbro has an update with several pictures of the Wookiee Flyer (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/pl/page.news/newsID.1E67483B-D56F-E112-4F80EB02CE30DD0F/default.cfm). Put me down for this, I'm a sucker for anything wookiee ;).

It's pretty cool. But how about some more LAND VEHICLES...
AT-TE
Pod Walker
Tank Droid
etc
etc
etc
:P
-
Ouch! I'll pass on this one. How about something a little more, ummm, cool! Something like the V-Wing!!! ;D
-
A little birdie told me these are now shipping to some e-tailers. They should be here soon...
Jeff
-
Glad to hear it Jeff, I'm really looking forward to this personally. Hopefully they won't be too tough to find, with all the talk of Star Wars sections condensing, etc.
-
I think they will be easy to find. Other than TRU, the small vehicle assortments have sold out everywhere in my area.
:P
-
I have to admit that this looks like a nice piece. I might have to pick an extra one up to open.
-
So is this considered a "small" vehicle, like the Boga, AT-RT & BARC Speeder, or a "medium" vehicle, like the Starfighters, Wheel Bike and TRI-fighter?
It's tough to tell because it seems to fall somewhere in the middle based on the pics that Jeff has posted above. I ask because I might pay $20CDN for it, but probably not $30CDN.
-
Jesse - it's in the same assortment as the Boga, Barc and AT-RT so it's price point is $14.99 - $19.99 (depending on where you get it).
It might even start to show up on Hasbro's Toy Shop soon at that price - they had the AT-RT there for $14.99 when it was impossible to find in many stores.
-
Gross. Never look at a wookiee who's spreading its legs. :o
-
Sounds like the Wookiee Flyer has been spotted at a Target in CA, so I guess the hunt is on. This is something I'm looking forward to, hopefully everyone can find one. From what I understand it is around the $15 pricepoint.
-
This is so cool looking... chalk me up for two of them. :)
:P
-
For those keeping score, from the partial case I found this morning, I think the break down is:
4 Wookie helicopters
1 Barc
1 Boga
-
Too bad they didn't repack the AT-RT again. But those others all seem to have sold damn well too!
:P
-
I managed to pick up the Wookiee Flyer today at Target ($14.99).
I took a few photos for the front page, clicky on the thumbnails below and enjoy!

A few notes:
- The Wookiee Pilot is articulated at the waist and arms only (3 points total) and is a little "rubbery". I don't mind so much because he has a unique paint deco and we've got 5 other Wookiees already.
- the "flapping" action is OK, but a little clunky
Overall, a nice peice for $15 plus tax. I like it. :)
-
I'm disappointed with the figure (as all pack-ins have sorta sucked) but I do like the vehicle. It's to-scale and that works for me, plus you can load a Wookiee in the gunner's seat.
I'll take a couple of these I think... I may take a 3rd for a downed one too. At $15 too, that's pretty cheap to do a custom with the vehicle.
-
This vehicle kicks a$$. It is my favorite past the ARC-170. It is way bigger than the $20 Grevious bike. I bought only one but that will change when payday rolls my way.
The wookie is like a hood ornament but that is what pilots are most the time anyway.

A hood ornament that is on the *******...

It's pretty damn cool. I found one today. The Wookiee doesn't do too much, but who cares. This is the best $15 toy in the line.
:P
-
Picked up the two I wanted of this vehicle today. Can't wait to open it up tonight when I get home from work.
Even though I already had four preview Wookie Warriors by the time of the 4/2 launch, I picked up a fifth one back on the 2nd (just 'cause the TRU had a bunch in stock still) for the express purpose of putting him in the rear-gunner seat. I can't wait to see if the preview Wookie fits - since the Chewie and Tarful figures don't bend at the knees, to me it seems like they would be awkward in the vehicle with their legs straight out.
-
I thought the same thing but the wookie on the back has to sit with the legs straight out. I used a preview wookie thinking the legs would hang out but they don't.
-
The Flyer is one of my favorite vehicles of the PT line. I kinda' wish they'd do the catamaran, too, but... the pilot's okay, he doesn't need to do much but fly. Both the Sneek Peek and #43 Wookies fit in the rear seat pretty good.
-

I guess what I mean is that even if the legs are straight out sorta like driving a go-cart - you never are completely "Straight Legged" - understand what I mean? There's still a slight bend in your knees - while my Preview Wookie's legs are straight out, I did bend the knees a little to give it a slightly more "realistic" look to the rear gunner at his post.
It's a minor thing, but for me my loose collection is display pieces and I like them to look as good as possible. So I'm big on figures fitting PERFECTLY in vehicles and actually looking like they're at the controls.
I know - I'm nuts.

You're not crazy at all, Pete; I'm the exact same way. It's also why I didn't complain about the "sit down sculpts" of the figures in this particular assortment, since one of my main pet peeves with Hasbro's line is that the figures don't always sit in the vehicles, and if they do, it's not too well. Obi-Wan sits perfectly on Boga's back, the Kashyyyk Clone sits great on the BARC, and the Clone sits great on the AT-RT. Same goes for the Wookiee, who looks great flying this flyer/ornithopter whatchamacallit.
That being said, DAMN THIS THING IS HUGE! I was expecting something kind of rinky-dink, but this is a top notch, top shelf toy, and is a lot of fun to play with. One of my first thoughts was how surprised I was Hasbro let this get out at the 15 dollar price point, since it's easily a better constructed toy than the Grievous Wheel Bike (whose Grievous, incidentally, does not sit in his wrong-sided chair well at all). It's a cool toy at a very affordable price point, and I don't see any fault with it whatsoever (although I must admit I'm concerned about possible "rotor droopage" as time passes).
BARC Speeder aside, the other two ships and beast in this assortment have been great, and (I can't believe I'm saying this) Hasbro has really done great this time around with this type of thing.
-
I know what you mean Pete. I am a loose collector that builds armies and plays with his toys. At first I thought the legs could hang out completely but I realize they could not. But I still love it. TRU has 30 of these in stock but tomorrow is pay day and they will have 2 less. :P
-
I've seen this thing in stores the last couple weeks and haven't been impressed. I'm disappointed in the lame sitting figures they've put in the ROTS vehicles. I really wanted all things Wookiee, but this didn't look worth it at all. I very rarely buy vehicles, but would've bought the damn thing just for the Wook, if it was a cool fig. But I saw a pic of someone's SP Wook sitting in the back seat, and somehow everything changed.... I think I want one now! :P
Somehow, that second, properly articulate Wookiee manning (Wooking?) the guns just sort of rounds out the whole picture for me. It oughtta look pretty neat hanging from my shelf with 2 distinct Wookiees on board. I just might grab it this weekend. :)

Does Wookiee #43 fit well in the back seat?
-
Either Wookiee fits the gunner seat well.
I love this ship myself... First, it meets my criteria of being to-scale... It's one of the rare times Hasbro went balls to the wall and sculpted a full-scale vehicle for the figure line.
Second, this thing is beefed up in detail. LOTS sculpted into it, right down to engine detailing galore.
I have one gripe, the figure. Hasbro's short-changed anyone who bought any vehicle with a pack-in, and the Wookiee Copter is no different. Shorting the articulation on the pack-ins is doing the end-product no favors. A nice neutral Wookiee would've been great.
I'm not talking a removable ammo harness even, or "Super articulated" figure. Some nice knee articulation to get him "crouched", and maybe some swiveling elbows. This figure would have been good enough for carding even then, just painted differently. He's got a rockin' paintjob though.
Anyway, I have a Preview Wookiee (still the best WOokiee ever short of VOTC Chewie) I got for $2 at the local toy show in the rear seat, manning the strafing gun. The gun lacks some detail but I've got it so the Wookiee's aiming it to the left and can imagine the copter banking and droids flying to pieces just like in ROTS.
The vehicle's "action feature" for flying is even inventive, attractive, and functional. This is probably one of the best vehicles Hasbro's put out in a long time and for a REALLy good price. $15's not bad at all, even with the figure being lackluster.
-
Sounds good. I'll probably make someone by it for my birthday. :D
-
TRU had a butt-load of these out my way today. I was shocked. Target had a handful too. First I've seen them in abundance. Seems like at least some vehicles are shipping in good numbers.
-
These are actually starting to sit a little, which surprised me, since it's the coolest ship out there. That reminds me, I haven't seen an AT RT in months.
-
These are shelfwarming here, along with almost every other vehicle. I'm waiting for a massive clearance so I can get this helicopter, along with some other vehicles I want.
-

I am kicking myself for not getting the AT-RT when I had the chance. I guess I thought it was going to sit forever and I'd pick it up someday. Ooops.
The Wookie Flyer looks pretty cool to me. I want some other clone type stuff but we'll see if I break down and buy this piece anyway.
-
Broem, there is a Walmart not too far from my area that did have a ton of AT-RT's about a month ago. They were $19.76 each, which is higher than I think they should be... but if you want, PM me and I can try to swing by there and grab one or two if you want.
:P
