Title: Image Hosting
Post by: CHEWIE on January 30, 2005, 01:03 AM
I know that a few guys have their own personal websites.  I have a few pics I'd like to be able to post here to show you guys, but I need them hosted somewhere.  Not necessarily a ton of images, just some customs that I'd like a bit of advice on.

I've got a few customs that are in the works that I could maybe use a bit of help on... so if anyone wants to, please email me at pike1067@earthlink.net.  Thank you.

And I was gonna suggest a PhotoBucket account, just cuz it's handy dandy for this kind of thing.

Thanks Dimetrodon!

JJ, the only reason I don't do something like that is because I have a very slow internet connection (can't get DSL where I live)... I tried doing it about a year ago, and every time I would try to upload an image, the computer would literally freeze up.  It's so frustrating.  I can email them though without a problem.

Thanks for the help!

I have a ton of customs I'd like to post, but I'm wondering, can JD host images? If so, I can't figure out how, so some help'll be nice.

PS, please don't flame me if this has been posted before

I recommend using www.PhotoBucket.com
I currently have tons of images up there and so far I have not had a bandwidth problem.  They are pretty easy to use and are perfect for linking your images to forums.

Yes,I recommend photobucket too..they even generate a IMG code for you to put in the forums.

Flickr.com (http://www.flickr.com) is my favorite.  Of course, they're the only one I've ever tried.  Never had any problems with them, though.

I know about getting them hosted somewhere else, I was just wondering if JD could host them. I thought I saw that it could, but I wasn't sure

I don't think the site hosts custom pics unfortunately.  How many pics are you talking about?  Email me at rykrofenloe@yahoo.com if you like and I can probably host a few for you.

I'd recommend a Photobucket account as well.  I got mine set up and when I mess with photos to host them that's been a reliable service, it's free, it seems to hold a lot...  At least a lot by my standards.

I'd say go with Photobucket too then.

One more thought, a lot of schools and workplaces have photobucket blocked...
