The hobby's going to be too much of a pain in the ass though, if things like this don't show up again, and I'll just drift away from it over time I suppose.

Been there, done that.  Came back for a long time, got tired of it all again and now don't really give much of a crap.  If it weren't for my friends on this site and an obsessive compulsive need to continue visiting JD I'd probably be long gone a while ago.  Sorry to those of you wishing I'd left a while ago

I can only hope this is a clever marketing ploy to create initial demand for this product. From the box we know that a sister set of TFU is coming. It is hard for me to imagine that they are not planning some shelf space for these in the next couple of months. I can promise one thing, I will not pay a penny over retail for this set. All the scalpers  can burn on this one.

So, according to the Panel slide-show, this set will indeed be coming to retail TRU at some point.  Good news - now I can go back to ignoring TRU.com and just wait for a good deal at retail...

This is good news. It makes sense considering that they have the third TFU box set advertised on the back.

They will probably ship together in the same case.

Not that I'm worried 'cause this set is coming to retail, but any word on how well (or not) this set did in the EE booth? Did it "sell out" like the Revenge of the Jedi Death Star set?

No, but they're showing up at TRU stores as per our front page.

I picked this set up today.  I still have the first release of this, so I'm trying to decide if I'm keeping it or not.  I have to say, they do look pretty damn good.
