Wish I was going to CV to get this, like the Obi Wan from last year.  Hope you raise alot for this charity since it is for a good cause.

At least those who want to get in line early won't have to worry about freezing rain and winds unlike at Indy.  Would be interesting to see how they handle his appearance this  time since the last time.

Pretty cool "Death Troopers" mini busts

Haven't bought any thing Star Wars related in a long time, had to buy this one through.  Would look could as a Halloween time displayed bust.

Was wondering what you guys use to protect your camera from rains.  I'm planning on going on a cruise to Alaska this September and not sure what product is best to protect my D60 from the rain.  I have been looking at stuff on Amazon but not sure what actually is worth it or not to buy.  Thanks for any help.

You can protect the camera body with something as simple as a plastic bag.  This is something that the videographers in my company do as a matter of course when there's bad weather and they must shoot outside.  But if you need to change lenses, be sure to wipe everything down before hand and make the lens change somewhere that's under cover.

As for the lens, I'd recommend a few things.  First, get some filters for your lens.  I try not to expose the lens itself.  Hoya's filter kit is a good starting point.  I like to keep a neutral density filter on the lens of my Nikon D-50 whenever I shoot outside.  And a lens hood will help keep any water droplets from getting on the filter.  Last, keep a lens cleaning cloth with you.  You can try really hard to keep the lens dry.  But if you get some water on it you're going to want any appropriate cleaning cloth to dry it off.  And those are $10 or so.

Oh, and BrentS...AWESOME PICS!

Thanks Nicklab for you information.

Have to much already plan in September and October so can't afford this trip and doubt I will be able to get the time off from work.  THe only way this can work is if I win the trip from Spirit Halloween.  Going to 3 out of 5 Celebrations is to bad through.

Celebration V: Orlando / Re: The Celebration V Speculation Thread

Too much stuff going on for me in 2010 so the only way I would be able to attend is if this was back here in SoCal, which I doubt it would be.  I wish I could make it but think that taking an Alaskan Cruise and attending my cousin's wedding is a better idea.  Guess I will have to wait until Celebration 6.

Finally got a Zuckuss bust that I never got a chance to order when it was first release.  Got it through Gentle Giant for $25 plus shipping with I think the Labor day sale/September sale.   The best thing and something that was unexpected was that it was a Promo bust, first one in my collection.  It wasn't advertised as being a Promo so I wonder if the run out of regular bust and started sending this out to make my order.  Now I just need to get the rest of the BH that I need.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: In Memory of Those Who Died

Hard to believe that it was 8 years ago that this attack happened.  At times it seems like it was just yesterday that our world changed.  RIP to those that died and god bless those who survived and the families of the ones that didn't.

ETA: One of the things that gets to me is looking at my nieces and seeing how old there are now compared to then. My oldest was 2 1/2 years old while the other one wasn't even born yet, my Brother in Law was at a police academy up north so my sister drove to my parents house and all of my family was watching the news, except my dad who went to his school that day. Watching the events with my niece in the room was a downer for me since I knew that she would never know what it was like before this day. She would probably be like me, and Pearl Harbor, towards these events not knowing the emotion of that day.
One day I need to save the first 6 pages of this thread so that it will be available for my kids in the future.

Went and saw Inglourious Basterds with my brothers yesterday, while I'm not someone who really likes Tarantino's way of making his movies into mini subplots where at the end they all come together, I enjoyed this movie.  Some of the ending scenes where great I thought in the way he made them.  I did feel that the some of the Basterds should of been in it more however.

Stallone is Turning Hunter Into Rambo V

I hope that someone tells Stallone to leave Rambo out of this story he is trying to put together.
