I left Shanahan on the bench to the tune of 3 points the other day when I completely wanted to start him...I thought I had but obviously hadn't - and one of my defensemen that I had every intention of playing had a two point night on a day that I forgot to make the switch.

Thanks DBB, but we need it to be a link from Rebelscum for it to fit in with the rest. :)

By the way, did you or anyone else get that Oscar Winning Actress (who's name escapes me) who died yesterday or the day before?

I also think you're confusing me with Rob who recently started getting into Cronenberg movies a few of months back, not that it matters or is relevant to why we like someone's work.

The only problem with that is that The Brood, Scanners, and The Fly have been some of my favorites since I was a little kid.  I just filled in some gaps last year.

What a crock of ****. I'm not even going to counter that because I know it's untrue.

Dude, WTF are you talking about?  Looking at your collection we find:

28 Days Later
50 First Dates
The 6th Day
Alien Vs. Predator
Airforce One
Airplane
Airplane 2
Alien Boxed Set
Almost Famous
American History X
Amityville Horror remake
Anchorman
Antitrust
Apollo 13
Assault on Precinct 13
The Austin Powers Boxed Set
Back to the Future Trilogy
Bandits
Batman
Batman Begins
Batman Returns
Beetlejuice
Black Hawk Down
Blade
Blade 2
The Bone Collector
Bourne Identity
Bourne Supremacy
A Bronx Tale
Butterly Effect

And that's just the A's and B's.

I've got tons of mainstream movies too, but to so vehemently deny that you're into mainstream movies is crap.

Not that anyone else here is capable of independent thought to see things my way.

Independent thought doesn't mean seeing things your way.

Are we pretty confident that that isn't a custom?  It looks hands down better than the Evolutions Sandtrooper - which looked pretty freaking good in its own right.

Super Articulated Sandtrooper?  This is the happiest day of my collecting life.

It might not be the original one - sounds like there's a secondary audio edit in there somewhere...

I'm self-employed.   So no one pays half of my taxes, AND no one witholds any of it for me - so at the end of the year I'm paying.

Rob, please tell me you're filing as an S-Corp. If you're not, we need to talk. Seriously, it was the best thing I ever did in my business organization. I got my ass handed to me year one as a sole proprietor, but for the last four years I've come out way ahead being incorporated.

Looks like I missed this last year...  Deanpaul, the reason I never incorporated myself (is that the same thing that you're talking about?) is because I never intended to stay freelance - and I didn't, I was hired full time last September.  So this year I've got 8 months worth of freelance taxes to pay - and then I'm done with that shizz.  Next year I'll be getting a big fat refund.

The best I've found so far is Circuit City - $14.99 for both History of Violence and Good night and Good Luck.

Is their a rule about discussions changing course?

Nah, we're just not supposed to get political.  It's tough for me sometimes. ;)

It's generally not our style to shut things down once the 'question is answered' or the event has passed, we'd rather it fade away and be available should the need to bump it ever arise - so I'll leave it open.

But if Dafoo wants to talk about the political leanings of various celebrities from here on out, I'd ask that he send me a PM.

Ouch, you really think it was that bad?

I did - I found myself laughing through it for the most part - I thought the effects (which is what most people went for) were embarassing and Nick Nolte's whole end thing was really really bad.  But that's just me.

It's clear from earlier posts that Cory isn't into non-mainstreen Cinema

Looking at his DVD collection I'd say that Cory's probably more into mainstream cinema than most people - HOV is probably on the fringe of that category anyway.  This may or may not apply to Cory but I often run into people who either just plain old don't like it when (or feel compelled to disagree with) groups like the Academy who have a very large say about what goes into the history books as great film and what doesn't.  I like to think that a lot of the time groups like that who have worked in and been around film for decades know at least a little bit about what they're talking about.  They don't always get it right but the fact that they didn't pick Brokeback for best picture makes me think even moreso that this time around they pretty much did. :)

Arnofsky isn't really the one I'd be dropping in a conversation about Cronenberg - sure he's got his own style, but he's only made two movies so far and one of them was an independent as hell (student?) project...
