Since I had the good fortune of hanging out with 3 different SW forum members just a week or two ago, I thought I'd toss this question out there, since I don't think we've played this "game" here at JD yet...
Have you met any other SW forum members? (JD, GH, RS...) If so, who?

Probably a few others I'm forgetting as well... It's just always fun to meet fellow forum members, and I probably go out of my way to make it happen moreso than most people probably would, but it's always worth it. Really looking forward to meeting a bunch more of you folks at C3 though. 8) I've always been bummed that I had joined the forums only a few months prior to C2, so I really didn't know anyone well enough at that point to hook up in Indy with. But I plan to meet everyone who goes to Indy next year though! ;)

Never have met another forum member. There's only two people across the Greats (JD, GH, RS) besides me from Waterloo/CF that post, and one of them is Spuffy.
I'm hoping that will change at C3. BTW, is there going to be a sign-up thing here at JD or does the Official Site help with hotel bookings and the like?

The embarrassing is that Jeff lives literally minutes from me and we shop at the same stores and we have yet to meet (Maybe when you find the Endor wave for me :-*)
At least Jim lives way on the other side of town (which is no small excuse...we could meet to split costs on sending stuff to Brent)

I met dusthro at WW in Chicago last year and many of the costumers form theforce.net. I can't wait to meet all of the from JD in Indy next year, I even have a nice pink sweater all set to pack :-*.

I've met PA guys, Pitt guys, etc... That's about it.
Among the more noteable names, I've met Bill Cable and Bob (Bobafett14) frm the PA/Pittsburgh groups. They're both good guys, and I got to see them both again this past weekend actually.
Beynd that, I've not had the opportunity to meet anyone really... Not many folks come to Pitt, and I've not been traveling even remotely as much as I did befre going back to college when I had to at times.
So, C3 seems most likely event I'll run into any of you at.

Met my first forum member this evening - Nicklab. Got together to do a little transaction in the parking lot of a nearby TRU.
First of many, as I'm sure I'll be meeting a lot more of you at C3 (if I don't go ahead and off myself first, which I'm kinda feeling like doing right about now).

It was cool to meet up with Jokabofe tonight. Like I was saying when we met, making trades in the parking lot of toy stores always makes me think of poorly planned drug deals. Still it was awesome to meet someone local from the forum. Hope to see you this weekend at Toy Fair.

I met this group of three guys from Durant, OK at the Target opening- we were the only ones there for longer than 10 min before opening. I told them about here and GH, but haven't seen them show up yet- I think only one is a serious collector and he goes to the site-that-shall-not-be-named. He's going to be on the same flight to Indy, too, but w/ his wife... They seemed really cool, so hopefully they will stop by... we went to breakfast together after Target and then we went to the TRU opening and to Books-A-Million... I love meeting people :)
But, of course, no one from this area is on this board- that I'm aware of...

Robb, I'd love to but I still haven't figured out how to reconcile the cost of living adjustment.
I wouldn't expect to have the same home in Cali that I have here, but I have no idea where I would live with issues like schools for the kids and central to companies I might consult and so on.
Moving to California for me is almost as baffling as moving to a foreign country. I like the idea (a lot), but I just can't get my head around it.
I'm in the process of seriously rethinking my life, so I'm fairly impressionable and this is a good time to make suggestions.

I'd have to pass on the Great White North for now. In 1997 I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (http://www.nass.co.uk/questions.htm). It would be a pretty bad move for me with what I know of the Canadian health care system from people there with AS.
If that weren't enough to stop me the toy selection would...

Hey just wanted to pass along I met Zod today. He pulled the curtain back to reveal his great collection. We both geeked out a little about Star wars. I just wanted to shoot along a meesage. If you have the opportunity to spend some time with him at C3 you won't be disappointed. A great collector ,and a real nice guy, but not so good with the European gypsies. ;)

It happens to be taking place while we are there to be honest...but I couldn't pass it up. Yeah, we are going for a little R&R plus we are going for the food you know how England is known for its cuisine :-X . Serioulsy we will catch a few shows and also tour the countryside I believe. I plan to incorporate my own bar crawl while I'm there. Guiness anyone?

Enjoy! If you guys are renting a car there (and haven't done so before), it's surprisingly much easier than you'd expect driving on the "wrong" side of the road. We had a rental for most of our 2 1/2 weeks there, and never had any problems cruising around whatsoever. Granted, I didn't drive around London at all, just the rest of the country, which was obviously much more tame...

I met so many people I can't remember them all. Once I load my pictures tonight, I'll have a better idea. It was a blast meeting everyone and meeting Chris and watching Dale's face was the highlight of Hooters :D.
And, of course, fighting Brent for Shannon's muffins (which helped a lot in line-thank you!!)

Listen here young lady, that picture was snapped about 11 am and I had already been in line for about an hour and a half. I look like **** and was tired and it only got worse. That night was the only night I got into bed prior to 3 am. And we were back each and every other day by 8 am. But we did get in by 1:15 that day (Thursday).
As for who I met, wow, that's going to take a while to type up as there were so many over the days there. Colman and I swapped spit, actually, no, that's not quite right, but almost. I slept with a couple of other guys, so it was sort of a big, old Caligula-esque experience ;) Or not.
I can say this much though, if you get along with someone online, it's a really good gauge of how well you'll get along with them in person. I was wondering if it would be that way and I am pleased to say it is, much to my relief.
BTW Lando, congrats on the engagement, a very nice young lady you have there.

I met a lot of the GH.com guys briefly at Hooters too... Going through the names so fast was hard though. Mousedroid and I had a nice brief convo though which was great since he's from my general area originally. Very cool...
I met Dan Curto as well, of Rebelscum, since he works for FFURG as well, and of course the FFURG Staff like CorranHorn/Jason, Doug, Tim, Ashley... The latter 3 aren't here though I wish they'd stop by. All the FFURG guys are great, and the FFURG.com table did incredibly well... overwhelmingly well actually.

Meeting everyone was great... Busy though. I wish I could've gotten to know you guys more by hanging out more, but between being sick 2 nights of the weekend, and having other commitments... I was just back and forth all weekend... It was hectic, fun, dejecting at times, exciting, and jawdropping... It was great overall, and I hope I get to see you guys all again. Yeah, Kevin was there. He strolled around with the JD crew on Thursday for a while (or was it Friday?). He also caught up with us for a little while right near the end of the show on Sunday.
But Kev unfortunately got into a gnarly car accident that totalled his car on Friday or Saturday, so him and P'dubs had to take the Greyhound bus all the way home on Sunday. Hopefully his grandfather doesn't kick his ass... ;)

Needed to hang at that PSWCS booth for that it seemed, and even with that I think I only saw him twice there maybe?
PA guys were all over the place at the con though. I ran into them at random throughout. Not that I didn't want to, but I had a harder time running into the guys I'm gonna have a hard time seeing again (outta staters) while the PA guys I saw daily it seemed. ::) Oh the irony.

So we could just call them both Wussboy. But Daniel's dumb**** ass still hasn't registered here, 'cause I know he's afraid that I'll hand his ass to him on a near-daily basis if he does so...

I kept using you as my GH contact though to find out where that gang was, so perhaps that's what he was talking about too... BTW, did you and iHu ever talk out there Shannon? Doesn't sound like he caught up with anyone from either of our sites, and I brainfarted on the fact he went too. Otherwise, I'd have made you give him a buzz at some point to hook up with all of us somewhere...

Shannon, thanks for the muffins!! I had to arm wrestle Brent for 'em so you'll have to make him more next time (sore loser :-*). Anyways, it was great to meet you and Sharon, my two female buddies and hopefully (if we didn't scare them all away) we'll have some more stop in (like Lady Jaye).
On a side note, my nieces stopped by with their prom pictures and I was online so I was showing them photo's of the line in the "picture" thread and they saw the picture of Chris, Philip and Matt and thought Chris was "hot". They also wanted to know who the other two "old" guys were. Oh Matt...I wish you could have been here for that. I'm still laughing. You'll have to start hanging out with me more so people think you're "young". (still laughing)....

WHen C4 starts I'm going to a travel agent so that I won't get screwed over like I did this time. I wish I could of meet you guys at Hooters or any of the other places you guys went to. I actually went to Jullians (or what ever it was called on Friday), since Matt ( no hard feelings) had said that the group may hang out there he wasn't sure, so I went around 8 pm and waited but no one show so I left and passed the Con Center. I over heard someone saying that they were number so and so ( a low number) and I saw that they were only a few people in line. I decided to see what was up and got a number for line up. WHen I went back to the line after sleep at my hotel around midnight I ended up being up front since that was where people close to my number were. So I thought it turned out okay but reading what Josh was saying at scum they were pulling people in for the last Lucas show.

I may of been a head of you guys, I thought I heard you say 8pm. I acutally was inside for about 30 mins or so looking for anyone. I think I saw Bob (Membeman) leaving so they may of been GHers there at the time. Like I said it didnt really bug me to much since I found out about the Lucas line.

Maybe not in the most timely fashion, but I was getting about 10 calls an hour, and numerous messages, 'cause most of the time I couldn't even hear my phone. Nope. I originally entered Jillian's with about 12 JD'ers. Then they all went across the street to Smokey Roads, or whatever it's called. I ran upstairs and said "hey" to the GH crew, and then hustled on over to Smokey's. But like I said, we didn't get there 'til a little bit after 9pm, so I that wasn't me. Not to mention, I wasn't toting any ladies around (that I recall :P)...

Tom, at least you didn't have to pay the cover charge at Jillian's since you were a little bit earlier. They said I could run upstairs for 5-10 minutes to look around for anyone I knew. They hung onto my ID in the meantime. When I came back down, they charged me the $5 since I was up there for TWELVE minutes with the GH gang. ::)

Nobody's topped Admiral Ackbar running across the street in front of me and my gf at a stoplight on Sunday though. She was dropping me off to run in and say bye to everyone I missed saying bye to before we made the trek home, and there went Ackbar... She just started laughing hysterically while shaking her head, to which I exclaimed, "It's a trap!" and got a completely confused look in reply. :-\ Guess you had to be there.

I was at the booth last weekend. I was there for my shifts on Friday from 4:30 - 7 and Saturday from 2:30 - 7. Plus I stopped by other times to drop things off.
I know I met a couple guys that said they were from PA but JediMac was the only one tht introduced himself from JD.com.
And it doesn't look like I'm going to the Social, Jesse. I would love to but with gas up and the amount of money I spent at CIV and Wizard World coming up in a couple weeks something had to go. This year it was the Social.

I think you're probably the only person from JD/RS/GH (pre-2007) that I hadn't met yet anyway, so thanks for not helping me round out my list (which I probably haven't updated in years now). It's not like I'm a completist, or anything... :P
