The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Prototype Boba Fett (Walgreens)

Oh, that arrived a few days after I put the order in.  It's been great in terms of keeping my armpits from smelling ******.  Also, it works well as toothpaste once you mash it up enough to put it on a brush.

Well I don't know about you but the exclusive Mountain Musk Speed Sticks are already shelf-warming at all the Walgreens where I live!

Speaking of Walgreens horrible customer service and overall computer systems... I ordered one of these guys but have since gotten a new credit card.  To get free shipping I had some deodorant tacked onto the order too - that already shipped.

Since part of the order already shipped, the people at their 800 number tell me that there is literally no possible way for them to update the credit card on the order.  I'm fully expecting that the one I ordered will never come based on what they told me.

Which is absurd.

Keep us updated on the deodorant?

Sorry to quote something from last November but I just found this out today, and it's important. In reference to a guest on Talking Dead early last season:

No clue who the girl was but she can sit around looking cute too I guess

So not only is she hot, funny, and into zombie shows, but she's also from your town, sir!

Gillian Jacobs was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her mother, Martina Magenau Jacobs, was a Carnegie Mellon University director of alumni relations at the Heinz College. Her father, William F. Jacobs Jr., was an investment banker.[3] She was raised in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania.[4] She is of French, German, Irish, and Scottish descent.[5] Her family owned the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery, established in 1847 in Erie, Pennsylvania, where her grandfather, John Martin Magenau Jr., served as President and CEO until its closure in 1978.[6]

Jacobs began studying acting at the age of eight, and attended acting classes on Saturdays at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up.[4] She performed with the Pittsburgh Public Theater, where she was a perennial contender in the Public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest, leading her to be cast as Titania in its production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.[7] After graduating from Mt. Lebanon High School in 2000, Jacobs moved to New York City to attend the Juilliard School, where she was a member of the Drama Division's Group 33. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2004.[4]

Cool lineup, definitely.  I'm hoping that the Obi-Wan figure will indeed be an ANH version.  This listing does have a different product code in the etailers listing than the ROTS version of Obi-Wan.  I guess we'll have to wait and see what this new listing yields.

Watch them slap a new mulleted head on the existing Obi-Wan sculpt for an instant lazy Episode II version.

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Maybe the ending of Jedi was like George W. Bush's "Mission Accomplished" aircraft carrier speech. Did we ever have any problems in Iraq after that thing?

Fox owns the distribution rights to Star Wars into perpetuity. They own the distribution rights to the two sequels until 2020, and they will revert to LFL/Disney at that time. Any future release of the original trilogy from now until 2020 (and of the original movie after 2020) will still have to go through Fox, regardless of the history between Fox and Lucas.

Bill Hunt of The Digital Bits had this to say back in May:

Quote
Of course, Disney is going to release the original, unaltered films!

Are you kidding? The folks at Disney have $4 billion riding on this little investment and they aren’t stupid. The only reason the original versions haven’t been properly released before this is that George Lucas didn’t want it to happen… but Lucas is no longer in control of such decisions. There’s simply no way Disney would have paid $4 billion without the right to do what they wanted to with this franchise. And what they want to do is exploit the crap out of it for years to come.

As for Fox being a problem somehow, does anyone really think Fox wouldn’t appreciate the chance to make some easy cash releasing the original versions in partnership with Disney? Where there’s a will, there’s a way... and where there’s this much money to be made, you can bet they’ll find a way. Besides, if Fox can work out its differences with Warner Bros. to finally release classic TV Batman on Blu-ray and DVD, Fox should have no problem striking a deal with Disney on this.

Bottom line: We’d be absolutely shocked if the original, unaltered Star Wars films don’t A) return to theaters, B) get released on Blu-ray and DVD, or C) both, prior to the theatrical debut of Episode VII in December 2015. I mean seriously. You don’t need to be a Jedi or a Sith to see that the Force is strong in this rumor.

I don't think the Fox thing is as big a roadblock as other people seem to think it is, either.

This whole scenario makes a lot of sense to me. Everyone stands to win something.

Comicbook.com: Exclusive! Original, Unaltered Cut Of Star Wars Trilogy To Be Released On Blu-ray By Disney

Quote
For a long time Star Wars fans have been clamoring for Disney/Lucasfilm to re-release the original, unaltered cut of the first Star Wars trilogy, and Comicbook.com has now confirmed with two independent reliable sources that just such a plan is under way.

According to our sources, Disney has plans to release the original cut of the Star Wars trilogy on Blu-ray. Our sources indicate that the project has been under way for quite some time, but it’s been challenging because of some damage to the original negatives they are utilizing. The goal is to release A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of Jedi in their complete, unaltered, original form without the redone special edition SFX.

Our sources did not have an exact date as to when the original cut of the Star Wars Trilogy would be released on Blu-ray, due to the challenges Disney has encountered in pulling everything together. However, our sources indicated the goal is to have it ready and released before Star Wars Episode VII is released in theaters.

I refused to buy the 2011 Blu-rays so no SW on Blu for me, but I'd be down for this.

If it pans out.
