Thanks fellas! I didn't think I could maintain that lead either, but my core group of guys stayed injury-free pretty much all season long and that may have been the difference.

And Ricky Rubio, of course. Couldn't have done it without him.

Funny.

I'll hate on Last Crusade every chance I get, but all the stupid bull**** they've done with that franchise since then makes it look like a masterpiece.

When's the last time Lucas had a good, rational idea about anything? 1978 or 9, whenever he decided to let someone else direct Empire?

Polygon: Report: LucasArts canceled Darth Maul game in 2011

Quote
Citing anonymous sources as well as Red Fly CEO Dan Borth, Game Informer reports that LucasArts gave the Austin, Texas-based indie developer a chance to make a Darth Maul game after the studio proved itself with the Wii version of 2010's Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. However, the publisher initially provided very little guidance except to say that Maul survived being cleaved in half — Red Fly wasn't directly informed of Lucasfilm's plans for Maul in The Clone Wars.

According to developers who had worked on the Darth Maul project, it was originally intended to be exclusive to Nintendo platforms before LucasArts shifted it to PlayStation 3, Wii U, Windows PC and Xbox 360. Red Fly began creating prototypes in October 2010 based on the information it had, but during a meeting with Star Wars creator George Lucas, he presented a new vision for the Darth Maul title. According to Game Informer, Lucas wanted a "buddy cop-like experience" with Darth Maul and Darth Talon — a Sith Lady separated by more than 170 years of Star Wars fiction from Maul — teaming up as friends.

Red Fly tried to make that new direction work, figuring out gameplay mechanics to satisfy LucasArts' suggestions. LucasArts reportedly considered buying Red Fly outright. But according to an ex-developer, the publisher eventually cut off communication with the studio for two weeks before canceling the project in late June 2011.

The Wookiee Arcade / Re: Visceral's unannounced Star Wars game

It's really good. Think Resident Evil 4-meets-Alien good. I just played through it a couple more times after first playing it a few years ago. I've got the sequel, which is also supposed to be pretty good, but haven't started it yet. There's a third one that I've heard is not so good, so I'll probably stay away from that one.

P.S. Good.

The Wookiee Arcade / Visceral's unannounced Star Wars game
« on: April 3, 2014, 02:28 PM »
Visceral's mysterious SW game is, to me, the most-intriguing one to come out of the EA deal. Even moreso than DICE's Battlefront. This hire may provide a little insight into what kind of game we might be getting:

Polygon: Amy Hennig joins EA's Visceral Games to work on Star Wars

Quote
Steve Papoutsis, vice president and general manager at Visceral, made the announcement in a post on EA's The Beat blog.

"Amy has long been recognized as one of our industry's top visionaries, and is coming off an amazing run as the Writer and Creative Director of the Uncharted franchise," Papoutsis wrote. "But her contributions go beyond the games she helped create at Naughty Dog and at Crystal Dynamics, where we worked together many years ago. As both a colleague and friend, I've always admired her approach to creative development — focusing on nailing down the soul of a game first, and then making sure the writing, the gameplay, the design and the art comes together to form a unified, interactive experience for the player. This fits in perfectly with what we're trying to do here at Visceral and Amy's going to help us continue in our pursuit to make the most thrilling, immersive games in the world."

Hennig started her video game development career at Electronic Arts in the early '90s. On Twitter, she spoke of her desire to work on the Star Wars franchise at EA, saying, "It's a privilege to have the opportunity to contribute to the Star Wars universe, after it's had such a formative influence on my life."

Amy Hennig was the head writer and creative director of the Uncharted series at Naughty Dog, and will be the creative director on the new Star Wars game.

Visceral Games is best-known for their Dead Space series. If their Star Wars game has anywhere near the quality of their first Dead Space game, we should be in for a treat. Dead Space is fantastic. One of the best games from the last generation.

Well of the Souls / Re: 6" Indiana Jones from Max Factory

I get wanting to have really quality-looking/articulated eyes with a little bit of realistic depth to them, but at the expense of a normal head with a removable hat? I'd rather take my take my chances with painted eyes.

Fantastic photos. Great articulation and accessories. The overall likeness isn't so great, though. He's way too skinny. Decent face, but the lack of any stubble makes him look more like an older Han Solo than Indiana Jones. Then there's the non-working holster and the weird head/non-removable hat due to the eye thing. . .

Max Factory has incorporated a separate “eye piece” that is accessed behind the face. This allows for a far more accurate paint application of the eye details. For good measure, they include an extra – just in case.

This is bizarre.

I've got a gut feeling that Carol and Tyreese will be the deus ex machina of this episode. They'll show up out of the blue to save someone's ass.

And I wouldn't be all that surprised if Michonne bites it. The way they've been playing up the bond between her and Carl this season, it seems like maybe they're setting her up for a really shocking death to get people talking.

Eh, I don't really care who dies as long as Maggie isn't one of them. Which means she's probably good as gone.

Looking at us being at the end, my 3 most likely to die characters are:

-Carol
-Beth
-Bob

I have a different reasoning on each one...  I'll probably be wrong because other than Herschel I haven't guessed much right.

I'll give you Bob (he seems pretty expendable), and maybe even Beth (although I think she's probably safe), but you really think they'd kill off Carol in the finale? After that last episode she was in, and with whatever issues between her and Rick, and her and Daryl? She's become a fairly-interesting character, and I think they have more stuff for her to do in the future.

I hope Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene are the first to get eaten in Terminus because they are all horribly ridiculous characters.

Killing off those awful girls is the best thing this show has done all season.
