Saga Collection '06 / Re: Much Needed Resculpts
« on: July 2, 2005, 12:28 AM »
R5D4 is a must, as is X-Wing Luke.  The older versions are lacking IMO.  I would also like to see a soft goods Jawa, a Death Squad/Star Commander, Endor soft goods Luke, Han and Leia and the Ewoks that have not been updated.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Favorite Vintage Playset(s)?
« on: July 2, 2005, 12:23 AM »
The Death Star.  One of my friends had it and we played with it so much it fell apart.  But we enjoyed the Hell out of it.  The Land of the Jawas is my favorite playset out of the ones I owned.  The elevator on the Sandcrawler and the escape pod were the best parts IMO.  I also liked the Turret/Probot set and the Hoth Imperial bunker set even though we would use it as a Rebel base.

I'll have to visit Target and pick up that plane.  Thanks for the tip.  I haven't ordered anything from Hasbro yet, but I will grab both those comic packs.  The single figures aren't really interesting to me yet, but some of the ones shown at the con will be mine.

Quagmire is the best.  Giggity Giggity Giggity!
I laugh at everything he does.  Like when he drugged the bachelorette in the hot tub and dragged her off only to notice the cameras were on him.  Or the time he took Chris around to cheer him up and the car crashed.  The air bag blow up dolls were hilarious.

Probably just hang out with the family.  We might go to the Taste of MN to watch fireworks.  Hopefully there aren't any crazy women pitching their babies off the Wabasha Street bridge into the Mississippi River like the last time I went there.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Places You'd Never Move To

Las Vegas.  My wife and I went there last August and it was 116 F.  That's way too hot for me.  I went out walking around like a dumb@-- and I saw a guy stumble and nearly fall down in front of me.  I didn't want to be next, so I went into a nearby store and downed about a gallon of water before I left.  Then there was the slum area north of the strip.  Man that was depressing.  The traffic was nuts, too.  It was a fun place to visit and we had a great time, but I would not want to live there.

Hall of Justice / Re: Mattel Batman
« on: June 27, 2005, 05:57 PM »
I just found the cars last night at a Wal-Mart.  They weren't in the regular Hot Wheels aisle.  They were on one of those side of the endcap metal rack hangar things.  Too bad the figures are crap from the BB line.  Mattel is my least favorite toy company.

I'll pick one up when I see it at TRU.  Repainting it and using it as a Cobra vehicle is no trouble for me.

The Snakemen are showing up at Burlington Coat Factory and at Fred's.  I found a Fisto and a Zodak at a Burlington store for $4.99 each.  Apparently some lucky people have found the Snake Armor He-Man.

I may have to drop by the con this weekend to check it out.  I've never been to a Joe Con before, so I might as well go since it's nearby.
The big problem I have with the TRU exclusive 6 packs is that the figures look nothing like the painted art on the package.  The greenshirt figures would have been much better if they wouldn't have had those goofy heads.  The Winter Ops set would have been better with the white Snow Job body on the figures instead of the blues and blacks.  The Anti Venom Lifeline would have been better if he looked like his artwork.  Sometimes I wonder just what the people at Hasbro are smoking.  They never execute things as well as they should with Joes or Star Wars.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: VOTC and OTC Returns in 2006!
« on: June 10, 2005, 10:00 PM »
I would want VOTC Bespin and Hoth versions of Luke, Leia and Han most of all along with a Jedi Luke and X Wing Luke.  Others I would buy would be a Jawa, Tusken Raider, Cantina aliens, Death Squad Commander, Snowtrooper, Hoth Rebel Soldier, all bounty hunters, Biker Scout, Endor Rebel trooper, Endor Han and Leia and an Emperor.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Salsa. Mild, medium or hot?
« on: June 10, 2005, 10:40 AM »
Ususally medium, sometimes hot.  Mild is to plain unless you're making it yourself to your personal tastes.  The Target Archer Farms salsas are pretty good.  I like their blue corn chips also.  Chipotle's hot sauce is a bit too much for me.  I like their medium, mild and corn salsas.  Their guacamole is on my best of list.  I do like making my own salsa.  I use 2 medium tomatoes, 1 medium onion, 1 green bell pepper, 1 hot pepper, usually jalepeno, 1 lime, 1 toe of garlic and sometimes some cilantro.

Thanks again everyone.  I have a lot less time to go online, but it's worth it.  Scott- it never gets old hearing the baby is cute.  I just tell people he takes after his mom.    My sister had a baby last January and it seems like he was small just yesterday.  I'm sure it'll be the same with Sam.  Princess- I'll have to visit Hot Topic.  Thanks.  He does have a full set of Galactic Heroes that will be waiting for him until he's older.

Thanks for the comments.  Carrie and Sammy are doing well, even though we haven't had much sleep lately.
The pink could be worse.  At least it's not hot pink.  :)
The shirt is similar to Luke's shirt from ANH.  We put him in a green shirt for his official baby pictures.
