For those of you planning to pick up Star Wars : Battlefront for some (hopefully) awesome Multi-player action, what do you think about us JediDefender guys starting up a clan? I think it'd be cool to kick one anothers' asses (I'm 56k on a laptop so I'll be getting my ass kicked constantly).... Anyone think this is a cool idea?

Sounds good to me... I didn't even know it would be an online game...
What system should we get the game for? Xbox, PS2, or PC? I'm assuming PC based on Ewok's laptop comment.

The release date is Sep 21/04 & yes, you can get it for the PC, PlayStation 2 & XBox. I am guessing the PC according to Brad.

According to the FutureShop links, Battlefront gives you the chance to play as a soldier in intense multiplayer battles with up to 32 people. 8) That would be a blast! ;D
Not sure if Brad like this quote from PC games: "At the very least, we were excited by the prospect of finally, for the first time in a Star Wars game, being able to kill Ewoks."

Be forewarned, the release date is the same as the Star Wars Trilogy DVD's so this could be an expensive day. ;D

Yes I read that ignorant 'kill ewoks' comment, but that's alright, oh yes that's quite alright, he'll soon think otherwise.
As far as the release date is concerned - I hope it stays September 21st, that way I can try and get that for my birthday, as well. Haha! That'd be freakin sweet.
So if enough people want to start up a clan, you think Chris Berry would host a server for us to play on? :-* JediDefender.com Server! That'd be good promotion.

Okay, since we all have one, I suggest getting the PC versions for the JD clan.
Also, will the online play be free?

Most online games are free to play once you buy the game, like Call of Duty (WW2 FirstPersonShooter) and Battlefield (WW2 shooter, the same system as StarWarsBattlefront)... Unfortunately games like Galaxies require a periodic subsription or something... Let's hope you don't have to pay Lucas on a monthly basis - because in that case I may not re-subsribe
legally.
And Yes, definately get it on PC. In my experience, ported games (on PS2, XBox) end up sucking majorly compared to the PC versions.
One really good aspect about online play is that there is a possibility that you can make custom models/skins and custom maps/planets/vehicles. Who knows! I'm excited.

Umm. Maybe you didn't think this out quite the way I have - but - since most everyone at JediDefender is loyal to JediDefender, I somewhat expect the same from a JediDefender based clan.

Also, I went to the Lucasarts website, and read that Battlefront WILL BE FREE! :)

Well Vator if we choose to use a ranking structure, we'd have to decide if we are Imperial or Alliance based. I think being an Allianced based clan would be more appropriate...
Ranking structures can be a hairy situation though, we'd need a mature leader before we could really rank anyone.

I'd tentatively be in... I don't online game much, but I do now have Cable Internet (have for a year I guess) and MAY be buying this.
If the game can prove to have a decent Single Player Feature I will most definitely own a copy. I'm not holding my breath there though. :-\
Call me spanky, but I'm more looking forward to Republic Commando. THAT's looking good to me.

I reserved my PS2 version this week already.
Just got the knockoff cable modem connection for $29.99 TRU
and the headset for PS2 for $15 both knockoffs-talk-net and go-net at TRU
not bad online and heaset for $45 total
beast spending $40 for the PS2 online adapter, and $30 or more for the headset
