Hasbro hinted at us in a past Q&A, as to what our readers were thinking about possible new Republic Commando figures, based on the new Evolutions figure sculpt (seen to the right): (http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/1-08/09Leg_RepCommandoVote01_TN.jpg)
Their specific question:
One of the things we're wondering about is whether fans would like to see an update of Delta Squad with the new (Evolutions Republic Commando) body, or would rather see new Republic Commandos.
So that's the question being posed to you, our readers... Would we rather see Delta Squad (http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/1-08/4626_fb41bc422fdd94d9c5db0db05e16d7c1593d15b8) updated using the new more articulated body? Or would we rather see all-new Commandoes created using this spiffy new super articulated body?
While I'd like to see both, I'm going to kick off this thread with what I'd prefer over the other. Please give your information and I'll see to it the concensus are sent in to Hasbro in the Q&A after next one (answers are due this week)!
(Just for my sanity try to limit conversation in the thread here and just slip your vote in with any comments in one post, kind of how we handle our Fan's Choice voting here... one per person and all that jazz, thanks!)

And as promised I'll kick it off...
Personally I'd prefer getting Delta Squad updated using the more articulated sculpt.
They're popular, have been in novels and a good video game. I "connected" with them whereas the other EU Commandoes not so much.
Vote... Hasbro's actually looking for our input on this one. :) It'll go in with the next batch of Q's we send in here at Jedi Defender, so I'll leave this thread open till those are mailed off.

I'd be more interested in doing updated versions of Delta Squad using the new sculpt, personally, so count my vote in that direction. :)
That being said, I wouldn't be against new versions of the rest of Omega Squad down the road either. But Delta would be the priority. I guess with whatever this whole animated CW retcon controversy winds up doing, Omega might theoretically be an Infinities entity before all is said and done. Pity, too, as I'd love to get a figure of Kal Skirata sometime in the future as well.

Yes! YES! we want the updated Deltas! and if its possible Omega Squad as well its all matter of paint not big deal for hasbro, and perhaps the White Commando released in the comic pack,
See am a big fan of RC, not so sure how many RC fans are aware of this topic cuz most of them are members of other forums.
if Hasbro release all previous colors in special the white one( if H make it easy to find), will try to make an army, am a big fan of Theta Squad Comic & heard that many died at Geonosis apart of those 36 incapacitated from the comic & reported to Delta leader in the game.
Oh! come on Hasbro make our dreams come true!

I think I'm going to say I'd rather see new Commandos. As much as I'd love to get better articulated versions of the ones we have already, newer ones are just slightly more exciting. That said, once they release a squad or two of new commandos, they should rerelease the older paint jobs on the new body.

The new RC sculpt is nice, but it's not a home run as far as articulation goes, and I don't like the legs for some reason. Because of that I don't want to buy and wouldn't buy a new set of characters I already have.
Would I buy new RC's? Maybe, but I don't want a new run of Delta until Hasbro gives me what I would consider to be the ultimate sculpt.

I really have no interest in rebuying the released Delta/Omega squad members again. Once was enough for me. I guess I'd rather they give us new characters/colors if they crank out that mold again... :-X

I don't need the Delta Squad again. I'd rather they release a blank white repaint of the Evolutions sculpt first, and on a single card so it can be army built.

I probably wouldn't re-purchase these figures, but if there was going to be any chance of me rebuying them they would have to be super-articulated - swivel shoulders don't cut it.

I bought the Delta Squad the first time around, so I would not buy it again. If the commandos make an appearance in the CW series - I'd be interested again, if not - the only thing I'd really be interested in is a clean version on basic card.

I was disappointed when I opened up this Evolutions pack and found out the Republic Commando didn't have a removable helmet.
If they update the Delta squad, doing a removable helmet would be better.

I am with DA on this, I am happy enough with the the Saga2 ones. The "New" SA Commando is not that great of an upgrade to begin with. I rather they update the whole sculpt before they reissue them with the more articulated legs that look a bit out of proportion. Start over then redo them when they truly can be SA in the shoulders. I always upgrade when a figure is upgraded and rereleased but this could be the first time that I would actually pass because it's not enough of an upgrade.
I am also afraid the deco would not be as good if rereleased. this years figures seem to lack the paint ops of years past.

I would really love to see new omega squad but deltas are cool too, they need to have removable helmets though.
I also would like to see a Kal Skirata. ;D

I would love an updated Delta Squad. The lack of articulation kept me from buying the earlier pack.

Personally, I would love to see a SA version of the clone commando.
A while back I made one using the body of a Microman. That armor is hollowed outed.

No real interest here. We're 3 or 4 years removed from the release of the Republic Commando game. A cool game, yes. But one of the coolest Star Wars games we've ever seen? I'm not sold on that. From a gamer standpoint, I still see more interest from people about KOTOR, The Force Unleashed and more recently Star Wars - The Old Republic.
Perhaps if the Commandos showed up in the Clone Wars animated series I could get more excited about them. But I'm generally kind of cloned out.

I'm all but finished with Prequel collecting but I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Delta squad updated. Beyond the SA sculpt I think some updated gear and some more realistic paint jobs would also be in order. I'd probably pick up a set if Hasbro felt inclined to redo them. And it does sound like they have plans to release more commandos, so I;d rather it be an updated Delta Squad than some made up clones, or clones I've never heard of.

I think it's a nice idea, but I'm a little tired of the Commandos and don't need redos just for added articulation.

man, this is quite a toss up for me. I'd like better articulation, however, I don't see me doing much with these guys other than a pose similar to the maquette. As close as I can get to that. If they came as a boxed set and REASONABLY priced, then yes, I'd want them. By reasonably priced I'm talking $25. Maybe $30 if they came with their specific guns/accessories.
Otherwise, if Hasbro can't hit that pricepoint, then no, I don't need to own them again, just for an upgrade.
(I really can't believe I just said that...)

My vote would be for us to get remade Delta Squad - like Jesse stated in his vote - those are the Commandos that I have identified with through the video game. I really have no sense for the Commando that came in the Evolutions set or the all black ones from the Mandalorian sets.
I would also appreciate it if they were to update the weapon that comes with Sev - I know he also has the regular Commando rifle, but it would great if Delta Squad's Sharpshooter actually had, well, his sniper rifle.
(sorry if that second bit deviates from the voting, it has always bothered me that they didn't give Sev his sniper rifle in the TSC box set)

Hmm, I suppose I didn't address the vote correctly either.
So I choose between redos of Delta Squad or all new Commandos.
Here's my problem with this. If it's an all new squad, then I know I'm going to want Delta to be redone. If it's just Delta being done, then I would prolly pass as the figs we have a good enough.
So I'll have to make my final vote no to both... (is that a choice?)

After seeing the improvement on "Scorch" made by Phruby, how could i say no? I'd like to see them maybe at least have some wrist articulation, maybe even a lil' bit taller. The paint apps don't bother me, as i could paint my own, but ball jointing a whole squad for myself, so i can have some articulation is just out of the question for me at the moment. I'd buy them gladly providing they were given a killer update and a sniper rifle for "Sev". Count me in.

Removable helmets and full articulation, count me in! Instead of packing it with geonosians, you can also add in a couple of those white commandos!

Not even sure how "good" the Evo sculpt is, but of course it won't have 30 poa like a Microman body ;D Commandos, troopers and Jedi should be articulated to the brim and Hasbro's a long way from that goal.
But I'd welcome an updated Delta Squad, because the old mold is one big disappointment. Kinda like the first Cody was as well. No need to redo Omega, anyone older than three can spray paint 'em black, so to speak.
Removable helmets? I say 'nay'. Never liked 'em on the troopers, they're way too big and the chins always peep underneath them.

I'd like to see more Republic Commandoes period! I'd really like to see Delta and Omega Squads the most. Also, getting plain white armoured ones or even a few black armoured ones to mod or use as squad builders would be great too.

You either vote that you would like to see Delta Squad redone using the updated and more articulated Clone Commando sculpt from the Evolutions set, or you vote that you would like to see NEW Commandoes done using the updated and more articulated Clond Commando sculpt from the Evolutions set.

As someone who just last week bought the game and playing it on my 360, I just want to say I love it and am really sad I missed out on not only this game, but the exclusive set that came out 06-07. So, I would definitely want a redo of Delta Squad, especially since it has been so painful to try and find it on the secondary market. I also definitely would like to see some Trandos come with them!
