I wish they'd do a straight western theme rather than the Lone Ranger movie theme, though.

I was hoping for more from the Galaxy Squad also.  Something more classic Space than what we're getting.  I don't care for some of the sets in that series so far.

You can maybe say that Hasbro is doing us a favor by getting these cases to market but they have actually hit, and are hitting more now with the holidays approaching; I've actually found these cases at retail now.

I think the reason that Hasbro is getting retail to take them is probably because, in that news that's coming, we're going to find out that the BaD line is getting pushed until fall to tie in with the 3D releases better.  Then they carry it over through 2014 which leads them into the 2015 new movie line without having to do any packaging change in 2014.

If they get to plan the 2014 line now, push the 2013 stuff until end of the year, that also frees them up about mid-way through 2013 to start working on the 2015 movie lines.

I don't buy a lot of MU figures but, as I mentioned the other day, bought a Kraven figure because he looked really cool.  And he is, for the most part, but he's very rubbery and kind of floppy in the joints (other than the knees), the spear accessory was so warped in the package it nearly formed an "S" and his ankles have some sort of odd articulation that really only allows them to rotate.

The MU figures, historically, had been pretty solid and the articulation worked pretty well (even w/ the odd hips early in the line) so I'm wondering is this a new trend in the line or did I just get a goofy pull?

He still looks excellent, the detail on his jacket is incredible, the sculpt is solid, nearly perfect paint and the accessories are nice even if there's no sheath for the knife and I had to boil the spear to sort it out.

I usually look at who wrote the article before deciding if I give it any serious thought.  Tip; I usually skip that author's posts...

If I never heard Christmas music again I'd be happy.  I don't hate the holiday, but no other music is as insidious.

I stopped in Walmart and they have a new display of Series 8 minifigures out.  First bag I picked up had the Evil Robot in it.  Figured with that luck I might find the Pirate but checked a couple others and don't think I found him so I left.  Still, not bad for randomly grabbing one on a whim.

I randomly picked out 3 bags of Series 8 a couple weeks ago and pulled two freakin' Fairies!  Those cases must have been lousy with her.  I didn't care for S8 that much.  I pulled the Diver and Alien and then randomly picked the Conquistador.  I wanted the Robot and Pirate Captain but never found them...and that was about it.  Wasn't interested in any of the others.  My Target just put out a small display of Series 7 and I pulled an Aztec and another Galaxy Patrol figure, though.

I'm looking forward to Series 9.  Definitely in for the Alien Avenger, Battle Mech and Forrest Maiden and would also pick up the Cyclops, Mermaid, Heroic Knight and maybe Roman Emperor.

Spotted the Kraven, Beast, Scarlet Witch wave at the TRU Express that's in the local Mall.  Picked up Kraven, really excellent looking figure.  Haven't opened him up yet but plan on it.

I didn't think the whole wave was there but couldn't remember all that was supposed to be in it...think I missed She Hulk and Beta-Ray Bill.  Still, was surprised to see them because I wasn't sure that the store would actually rotate in much new stock since it's only there for the holidays, but these weren't in the store when I was there last week.

Other Toy Lines / Re: NECA Gears of War 3 3/4 scale
« on: November 30, 2012, 03:18 PM »
I haven't played the game but I have seen the larger scale figures and they look pretty good.  I'd be interested in a couple of 4" scale figures to go with the Joes or SW figs.  Hopefully they'll be quality.  And, yes, if this is good for them, I hope they bring Predator and Alien to this scale eventually.

Since we know all the figures but the 13th, it's just the order that's going to be a surprise so my thought is it's not that big a deal.  But I would like to be surprised by the final figure.

I vote keep it here, but have no problem not spoiling it for others by wating 2 or 3 days after mine arrive to talk about them, unless they're mentioned somewhere else.
