Of course, Philip did get quoted basically saying he should have supported another property like LOTR because Jackson and the licensees were more in touch with fan sites over the LOTR license than SW Licensees are.

I've seen you, or one of the other guys here, post about that before and found it pretty funny that someone who is supposedly such a big SW fan was mad because he didn't jump on another properties bandwagon.

I guess in business you have to jump on what's hot to make some scratch but this all should just be a hobby.  If you want to run a business, run a business and make something, don't sponge off other people's fandom by just being associated with George Lucas' vision.

Anyone know where that kid is?  I have a lot of connections, maybe I could call in some favors, have someone toss him a beatin'.

Do you mean to say they've sunk to an all time low?

Kevin

Apparently.  Next thing you know we'll have the RebelScum Rootkit that renders all other SW news sites and forums useless on your computer.

I posted in the forum feedback section.  Apparently it's to add more income to the site to keep in running.  In other words, now that SW has left the movie theater they need to do something to keep the cash coming in as fans start to leave the hobby.  Whatever.

That goes along with some of the recent polls; would you buy Stargate collectibles?  How about Battlestar Galatica and Star Trek?  Sounds like a big, "what site should we start next to make more money now that this horse has been flogged" poll.

Okay, did anyone else notice these annoying "Vibrant Media" spam links on RS today?  What a worthless piece of **** that thing is.

It's ridiculous.  It turns every news page on RS into an advertisement to buy something.  Even the Question Mark section.  It used to be that software had to be installed on your local computer for that type of thing to work...and THAT was all malware that we were finally able to do away with using programs like Ad-Aware and Spybot.  But not this insidious thing.

Crap.

I want to customize a squad of Colonial Marines just so I have an excuse to buy that insane pulse rifle.

Any chance these guys could do some 1:6 stuff?   ;D

Oh well, they'll get backlash from the info leaking onto the net. Just like Playmates did with their 1301 figures!!

1701.  Good God, woman, if there had only be 1301 figures there would have been rioting in the streets!!!   ;D

With everything else that happened in the last 30 minutes, the cliffhanger of "What's wrong with Julia's baby?" seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle.  Can't wait until next season.

BTW -- did anyone see the promo for Rescue Me?  I can't believe we have to wait until June for new episodes >:(

The baby problem kind of got lost, but looks like the thread that will tie next season together.

And yes, I saw the promo for Rescue Me and it's killing me we have to wait till June.  But, we have The Shield coming in a couple weeks so that'll hold us over.  And I think that new show Thief with Andre Braugher (SP?) looks interesting.

As for last night's episode, when they came back from the break at 11 there was a shot of different people removing the Carver mask and the last one to do it was Christian.  And then he got this odd smile on his face like he knew something we didn't...I sat there for a minute and was thinking oh, ****, it's going to be Christian.

Anyone else catch that?

Oh, and I have a question; When did Gina get carved?  Did I miss that somewhere?  When did that happen?

Ha!  At least your's is short.  Our phone script:

"Customer Service Center, this is Eric.  May I have your employee serial number please?"

I'll get to the point of saying my name, stop, and then there's this awkward silence before I say I'm sorry and just ask "what's up?"

Hal Jordan Green lantern figure.

Kevin

Ouch.  Yeah, I can see how that would T-off some collectors.  Still, not a reason to pack in the whole collection and move on.

Even though the SW line has some harder to get exclusives, I'm still glad we haven't been exposed to chase figures or releases like this.  The Toy Fair Vader is probably the closest example and even that was offered to Fan Club members eventually.

The show has had some issues with continuity in the past.  You don't really always know how much time has passed.  You think it's only a couple days and it's been months or reversed; you think it's been months and it's like three days went by.

I'm sure the Matt thing will come up next season.  Remember the whole hit-n-run storyline?  That played out over a long time.  I'm drawing a blank right now but there was another plot involving Matt that just went away and never came up again IIRC.

Almost like the writers got to a point and were like "oops, we can't do that, quick, no one mention it again and that'll fix the glitch."

Still, nip/tuck, one of the best shows ever.

I've seen picutres of these somewhere before.  Might have been in one of the magazines like ToyFare or Tomart's maybe.

They do look really good.  I have a couple of complaints about GG but none of them relate to the quality of their product.

Looking at those pictures, though, gives me the sudden urge to go buy CotT and watch it.  I haven't seen that film in a few years.

That's why you guys should date girls who are all the same name.  It makes life a lot easier.

I dated three girls in a row that were all named Jennifer.  I highly recommend not doing that.  I could never date another girl with that name now.    ;)

As for the wrong name thing; I've never done that but to this day when my phone rings at home I have this urge to answer it using this stupid "phone script" that we used at the support desk at IBM.  And I haven't worked there in 8 years.  But saying that stupid thing 40, 50 or even 60 times a day for 5 years really beats it into you.

My money is on them coming back some time in the future.  The ending had that whole "Silence of the Lambs" vibe to it.

Two seasons form now someone will be eating brains out of patients heads and it'll all be on again.   ;D

Ok, someone's going to have to tell me what happened to the thread where the guy was quitting collecting Justice League figures because they released a holiday employees only toy, and I told him it was the same thing as Gentle Giant Holiday busts.

I'm curious, what figure are they making for the employees?

As for the whole quitting collecting thing, I never got that either.  Seems like that hasn't been a big deal with SW lately but a year or so ago practically every other day someone was quitting because they couldn't find this figure or that bust or what have you.

I figured, go ahead and quit.  More toys for the rest of us.
