The Bullpen / Re: Marvel Universe

I just got notice that my order is in for processing on this wave, and I'm jazzed to finally get some new figures.  But while checking around, I noticed another revision coming up which convinces me that MU has to be the dumbest line in the world when it comes to case assortments.  Exhibit A: this, coming out in November.  Every single one of those has been readily and easily available, only a couple are commanding any sort of demand on the secondary market, one of them being Juggs, who is in this month's revision case.  Why they can't stick a couple Visions or something in one of these garbage revision assortments is beyond me.

Damn it, Jesse.  Now you made me wish I bought two.

I picked one of these up today.  There were three there, and I was tempted to snag them all, but after tax they're almost $25 each, and that's pretty steep for this thing.  But it's pretty nice.

And Godfather II.

I asked them to price match the Ewok set with the online price, and the clerk looked something up and rang it up at $32.99, and then let me use a $5 off $25 coupon, which wasn't too bad of a deal. I want that new Porkins, but not bad enough to drop for that cruddy set.

The individual carded ones are worse.  Same crappy articulation with an even worse paint job.

I looked at a couple of the single carded Chitauri the other day and it looked like, although they'd the nixed elbow and knee articulation, they left an ankle joint.  An ankle joint without knee joints makes absolutely zero sense.

I would have thought we would have seen pictures up at some of the sites by now too. (IMHO, Facebook does not count because most people are blocked from seeing that at work, and anyway why would you want to drive traffic to their site, but not your own? but I digress...)

Well, we are all fans first and foremeost, so maybe we're all busy enjoying ourselves instead of wasting precious show time editing and posting dozens of photos. :P

Like a few others have said, there isn't really anything "NEW" at the Hasbro booth yet.  Most everything is just stuff announced at SDCC.  There were some hints that there will be some new stuff shown at the panel, so standard protocol for them.

So is someone going to ask about the "distribution problem" or is Hasbro going to get a free pass again?

If you guys really want me to waste some of my ten-minutes with Hasbro beating them over the head with the obvious elephant in the room, I can, but to me it's a waste.  Vintage is dead, headed for clearance and they are re-booting with Droid Factory.

If you really need to hear Hasbro state the obvious, then check out what they said when my pal Jayson at Yakface asked them today.

Jeff, I would personally appreciate it if you would stop enjoying yourself and upload pictures and whatnot to the front page.  Also, if you get another chance, please do ask Hasbro about the distribution.  Feel free to use the following as a script:

Hey you cocksucking dillholes, what the ****?  Me and a bunch of other nerds are having a tough time finding toys, so I have one question in two parts: 1) Why do you suck so bad, and 2) How and when are we going to get our goddamn toys?

Then say "Keep it real, yo," and drop the mike.

How could you not need both?  It's She-Hulk for heaven's sake the ultimate in green goodness.

I wish some of this new stuff would start showing up around here.

No kidding.  Here's hoping they make her in her courtroom costume next.

I was going to get the Luke, boba battle pack, but those figures have no articulation whatsoever. I was disappointed yet again. Just like I was with the MH battle pack with solo, chewie and 3PO. No disrespect, but I think they're a huge waste of money

I hear ya.  That's why I've held off on that set for the time being.  However, if I see that set go on clearance, I might reconsider.  Or, as Chewie mentioned, I see Luke or Fett for cheap on eBay, I'll bite.

I really like that Luke, and in a way, it's the best Bespin Luke we've got.  Or at least I thought so when I rambled on and on about him and his cronies.  He pops up on eBay for $2-$3 every now and then, and he's easily worth that.

Ant Man & Moon Knight looks like an awesome set, so naturally, it's been delayed.  The Juggernaut head sculpt is nice, but it's ridiculous that it doesn't have a helmet.  I've already got the the single carded versions of both characters, and I don't think that Colossus with the flat grey looks nearly as good.

I just picked up the Wolverine/She-Hulk and FF Black Spidey/White Doom sets using the TRU $5 coupons.  Wolverine will go in my pile of Wolverine army builders.  She Hulk is really great, I found one with a decent face paintjob.  This is a figure where there's almost too much articulation, though, and it detracts from the aesthetics of the figure overall.  I could do without the mid-thigh joint, for instance.  Given that it's less than a quarter inch from a ball joint, I don't know that it's worth having a slice through the leg.  But overall, it's a really good figure and an outstanding head sculpt.  Haven't cracked open the Spidey-Doom set yet, but doesn't look like there are any surprises other than a kind of bulkier Spidey than we usually get.  Doom's the same one we've gotten, just in white.  Same Ultron limbs.

I went into TJ Maxx looking for Laufey and King Loki, but instead found two of the dark purple variant Galactuses for $30 each.  I'm going to give one to a buddy who runs this blog and use the other for trade bait.

I liked Daredevil.

It wasn't any worse than Spider-Man 3 or X-Men 3.

They oughtta put that quote on the box for the 10 year anniversary Blu Ray release.

6. The figures will be shipped in random order. All members receive the same figures each month. The figure pairings will not be preannounced. So if you don’t mind, when you get your shipment each month, PLEASE do not go online and tell what you received. We want each shipment to be a surprise for as many members as possible.

Riiiiiiight.  Good luck with that.
