Saga '02-'04 / Re: Jabba's Palace Wave Pics!
« on: October 28, 2003, 05:11 PM »
I agree, I really think that the Lando is the best of the bunch.  They all look great, the Luke is probably the worst..although I do think that the hologram Luke does seem to be the same mold as the Jabba's Palace Luke we have coming next year, which isn't a bad thing I guess.  Anyways, that Lando is top notch, and I agree with JesseJames, it makes you want to see some more of the POTF2 characters resculpted.  The waves keep looking better and better, can't wait to see what the rest of 2004 holds for us.

Thanks for posting this OCB!  I was hoping we might get a look at these figures this week, and I think they look great.  I've always really wanted a new Lando Skiff, and its great to see more aliens to add to Jabba's palace.  This whole group of figures really looks good to me.  I think that the 2004 figures continue to impress overall, and I really hope that everyone who is looking for these can find them.  It looks to be a great year of collecting IMO :).

I've been pretty much using Kebco all the time lately, although I am not a member of the "one of every figure" club.  Can a person be a member of that club, but still pick and choose which figures you want to receive?  For example, if I would join, and I want to have everything starting at 2004 - Hoth Wave, but I don't care to have some of the CW figures (Durge w/speeder, etc.) or the 12" figures, can you take those out of your order?  If that makes any sense :).  Basically, can you order some figures, but not all of them?

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: As expected... PEGWARMERS!
« on: October 28, 2003, 12:09 PM »
I'm becoming more concerned with this after shopping for figs this weekend.  At the Target we go to (the only store around with new SW stuff), they had an abundance of figures...but almost all CW.  There were six "regular" Saga figures (repack Leia, Maul, Han, Wat Tambor, Yoda w/Chian, and Aayla Secura).  Other than that there was probably about 25-30 of the Yoda/Anakin/ARC Clone Wars wave.  Now, I can see the ARCs getting picked up (there was the fewest of these), but the Yodas and Anakins I don't think so.  I'm starting to get concerned that this will (as others have said) hurt our chances of getting new product in 2004.

I was curious how many of you are preordering the figure waves for 2004 (or late 2003).  With the dismal retail year we had this past year, I found myself ordering quite a bit from Kebco, and have been able to fill in most of the remaining holes in my collection thanks to the kind people on these boards.  With some of the waves up for preorder on numerous sites (Hoth Wave, Tatooine wave, Ultra figures, etc.), I have been tempted to preorder these figures again, although I would much rather be able to find them at retail.  Its always nice when you find the figures on your own, and pay a little bit less.  But, at the same time, I really don't want to risk missing out on the great OT offerings for 2004.  I was just curious how many of you will start, or continue, to preorder...or if you are going to try your luck with the stores?

Nice display David, I really appreciate you posting those pictures.  Thanks for the advice as well everyone, I've been keeping an eye on ebay, for the most part they don't seem to be too terribly expensive, maybe I'll be able to pick some up eventually.  It would be nice to at least get Han, Chewie, and the Falcon :).  Thanks again everyone!

I was just reading more about this over at CNN, and was curious how you were doing as well JediMAC.  I wasn't sure exactly how close you were to everything, but it sounds like it is too close right now.  Our thoughts are definitely with you and your wife/family, I hope that these fires end soon, and no one else has to lose their homes or especially their lives.  All the best to you, hope everyone stays safe, be careful, take care, and God bless.

I'm really looking forward to the season starting tomorrow too.  I don't really have a favorite team, but trying to pick one to follow "more closely".  Either way, its going to be a great year for hoops I think.  I've always been a big NBA fan, and followed the Bulls religiously from 88-98, but things weren't the same after they broke the Bulls up, so I've been looking for a team ever since.  I really enjoy Tracy McGrady's game, so maybe it will be Magic (even though they have basically zero chance at a title, as with the majority of the Eastern conference).  Anyways, like OCB said, the west should be a tremendous race to keep an eye on.  The Mavs could be shooting for several 150 point games this year too, when everyone's on.  I'll admit I'm not the biggest Laker fan either (although I can admit they are a very good team), so the Shaq/Kobe thing is kind of funny to me, but I'm sure they will be dominant regardless of if they are getting along or not (I'm not so sure they ever REALLY have).  Watching some of the young guys (LeBron, Melo) should be fun too.  I hope people don't expect too much from "King James", but I do think he has the skills to be really good.  I think Carmelo might have the better year this year though.  Anyways, should be fun, can't wait for it all to start tomorrow night...good luck to all of your teams on the upcoming season though, hope its a great one :).

I thought I'd bring this back up, because I've been thinking about getting into these as well.  I did see the new C-3PO one this past weekend while shopping, although I didn't pick it up.  I found Angry Ewok's article helpful, because I was curious what has all been released so far.  Is there anywhere to see pictures of all of these ornaments, or is just searching on ebay the best option for this?  Also, would it be really difficult (or expensive) to catch up on these (Original Trilogy releases only).  Thanks for the info you have all provided on these ornaments too :).

TV-9D9 / Clone SCUBA Trooper
« on: October 27, 2003, 03:56 PM »
I'm usually not much for expanded universe, but this Clone Wars cartoon looks to be shaping up to be pretty cool.  I noticed that the Star Wars official site has been adding more and more CW information lately, and at their "Inside Clone Wars" page, they have some pics and information on some of the characters, vehicles, etc. from the cartoon micro-series.  One new one I noticed was the Clone Scuba Trooper, which I think looks kind of cool.  Has anyone else taken a look at these, and if so, what do you think of them?

Although there are a few different snacks my wife and I enjoy from time to time (cheetos, nacho cheese doritos, pringles, fruit, peanuts, etc.) I'd have to say my favorite right now (and actually new within the past year) is Cheddar Jack Cheez Its.  They are quite tasty.  We happened to try a sample at Wal-Mart awhile back, and I've been hooked ever since.  I could eat them every day...although they give you breath that could kill gardens :).

Although I don't have one to sell you (or one for myself either), I thought I would let you know that Kebco does have these in stock right now at their site, but for $7.99.  I don't know if you would be willing to pay that much or not, but I just thought I'd let you know either way.

Is there still an Eastern Conference in the NBA?

:D too true anymore.  I have always been a fan of the east as well, but the balance of power is most certainly westward.  It should be an interesting year with all of the team changes/upgrades.  I was surprised by the Dallas trade on Monday as well.  I've never been a huge Antoine Walker fan, and sometimes think he is a little over rated, but it sure seems like the Celtics could have gotten more for him in a trade.  Lafrentz might be able to have a decent year playing against eastern centers though.  I'm looking forward to seeing how this season goes...starts next week I believe.
