He sucks...really. There is no reason they needed to make 12 different Clone molds. This one is by far the worst and least poseable of all of the Clones made so far. I've tried moving his parts around to other Clone bodies but the skirt isn't removable and so he's stuck in sucksville for now at least. I think something could be done with the original EU Clone Commander but we'll see
Both arms are part of the action feature...Strike One
No Knee Articulation..Strike Two
No Left Shoulder or Elbow Articulation...Strike Three
Bad move on an otherwise cool looking design
-
I'd be more lenient if the left arm were better, but overall I agree with you Scott.
However I think his skirt is removable... It seems to have a snap feature similar to the first Clone Commander, it's just on pretty snug. A little hot water may loosen that up a bit but it seems possibly removable.
I'd take a resculpt however I doubt it happens for some reason.
-
I tried prying the skirt a couple of times and maybe its just the paint on the back but it wouldn't give. If I get another I may try and swap some parts with #33 and see if I can make something a little more palatable
-
I don't have the figure yet, but I've heard that the skirt is actually glued on. You might have to put him in hot water for a minute or two to weaken the glue.
-
I don't have the figure yet either, but judging from the comments I've seen...most seem to agree with Scott that this figure isn't quite cutting it. It does baffle me too, how Hasbro can recard/repaint/repackage quite frequently in the Star Wars line...but in a scenario like this where repaints actually make sense, they have so far passed on it. Just take the #41 (or even the #6 Clone) and re-use parts to make these other clones...or repaint it for the different "legions" of troops. Saves and makes them money, and makes the fans happy. Seems simple ;).
-
If they put out this ****** Bacara, they know some will buy an extra Clone Commander or #41 Clone to switch the parts around, thereby selling another figure.
I'll still buy him when I find him, but I'm sure this won't be a good figure.
-
The Skirt is most definitely glued to him at the waist and also on his ass cheeks. "Bummer", literally.
-
Does the card explain the point of the skirt and the cheek flaps?
Articulation is the key! if it doesn't move, or move well, it is just a big plastic army man
-
What a disappointment. :(
-
Still and all, the damn thing looks cool. It's also pretty easy to transfer the head and gear onto a clone 41 body and do minimal painting. And he'll look cool when (if) we get Mygetto grunts to gun down Ki Adi.
-
I got this figure last week, and although I was quite happy to find/get it...I think the figure overall is a step back as well. I'll agree with what others have said, the articulation is definitely a notch down from the previous Clones, and I don't understand why they had to do that. I'm glad they made Bacara, and hope that his troops are on the way as well, but why mess with a good thing (Clone #41). Just keep the articulation, particularly on main characters and army builders, at the same level throughout. Don't tease us with very nice articulation, only to release troops later with very poor articulation/poseability.
-
What a disappointment. :(
That sums up Bacara perfectly!
Have we had enough of the quick-draw crap yet?
-
It's difficult to transform a 41 clone into Bacara because the belt/skirt and pauldron do not fit the 41 clone unless you feel like grinding away at the back plate and existing belt on the 41 clone.
Haven't looked at a 33 commander to see if he would work....

I have it working on a #41 clone. Although the Bacara skirt has a little tab that fits into a hole on Bacara's belly, and you have to take the end off of the tab so it to can attach.

For me, this figure(bacara) is awesome to look at and that pretty much sums up all the praise right there. Once you open it there's too many negatives
-
Sure, the figure over all is a dissapointment, but it could be a lot worse. At least his figure isn't a true army builder.
-
I agree that he's nice to look at...which is really all I do with them anyway. So, not a huge deal. The poseability etc suck though

I was finally able to hunt down Commander Bacara and now that I have him in my grubby paws, It's time for a review.
Sculpt/Features: 9/10
The sculpt on Bacara was very well done, you could tell the Hasbro designers spent a lot of time on this baby. The helmet looks very snowtrooper-ish which is a big plus. The skirt/kilt thingy is well sculpted and and snaps on and off most nicely. Bacara has the same "quick draw" feature as the #6 Clone and works about the same, squeeze the legs, you know the drill.
Articulation: 7/10
Other people have said how bad the articulation on Bacara is but I'm not a big stickler for articulation so that's how it gets its 7/10 rating.
Paint: 9/10
The paint was done nicely, very crisp and clean. The only sloppy area on mine was on the belt but only ever so slightly.
Accesories: 10/10
Ya can't ask for much more in Bacara's accesories, you get the shorter blaster rifle, a heavy blaster rifle, removable kilt, and a whole lotta cold, jedi-killin' attitude. The short blaster rifle is basicley the same as previous versions, and frankly I prefer this to the heavy rifle. The kilt is all new and a good sculpt.
Pricing: 10/10
$6 at most retailers.
Overall: 9/10
Bacara is a good addition to your Imperial Forces and beside the so-so articulation, definatly worth the Lincoln and Washington. I don't think we'll be seeing his snow clones under his command anytime soon, but this is the next best thing.

I'm too lazy to take my own, so looky here: http://www.rebelscum.com/ROTS0549bacara.asp

Commander Bacara's figure exists just to show that there are worse clone figures than the AT-TE Gunner.
Those custom figures look awesome. If I can get my hands on a second Bacara, I'm definitely using it for the parts.
-
This figure reminds me of those talks you get from your parents: "I'm not mad, just disapointed".
-
this is exactly the kind of figs i wouldn't advise to open :P
-
I am an Idiot.
I bought 2 of these.
I went to TRU and I got 2 Clone Commanders(Green) and 2 BACARSAS...well, I am mad at myself because I didnt grab a Super-articulate and a black clone pilot instead of the Bacaras.
