This seems like the post "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" Luke, where he just goes berserk on Vader.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re:New Clone Wars line previewed at Toy Fair!
« on: February 16, 2003, 04:10 PM »
It looks promising from an Army builder's standpoint.    One nice little tidbit I noticed was the alternate paint job on the Gunship.  It's cool.  And the paintscheme seem to be moving more towards an Imperial look.

obi-dad, there are more Star Wars collectors in the New York area than you can shake a stick at.  Persistance pays off!

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re:"Clone Wars" Gunship - What do you want?
« on: February 9, 2003, 10:04 PM »
I've seen a wholesale sheet that indicates there will be two different Gunships issued for this year.  The Clone Wars version appears to be only different packaging, and possibly an alternate paint job.  The wholesale price for this is $22.

Then, there's the Gunship with added firepower.  This one wholesales for approximately $30 or more.  It's probably the one that includes 3 Clone Troopers and may have electronics.  There are already battery sized compartments in the base of the wings, and the rocket launchers on the top of the ship seem light capable.  Just look at the transparent rockets...perfect lightpipe.

Saga '02-'04 / Re:Trade Federation's 2003-2004 Rumor List

Well, some of these figures bring us closer to the Holy Grail of completing the remaining vintage line.  Not bad!

I thought it was a good vehicle the first time around.  It was certainly a little scarce.  I think it wound up not getting produced in as high a quantity as the pod racers because those wound up warming shelves a little.

I certainly think it's cool that Hasbro's giving people a second chance to get some of these things.  We certainly shell out enough to them, and it's nice to see them returning the favor by offering some HTF items like the Tank and the TIE Bomber.

Saga '02-'04 / Re:Variants.
« on: February 4, 2003, 07:55 PM »
Just checked out the link you posted, MAC.  The one all the way on the right is the POTJ version.  The SAGA versions are the most easily identified by this features:

First one:  dark hair, no sideburns, smaller head than POTJ version.  I've seen reports from stores that this one's showing up, and e-tailer www.toymaniacs.com has them in stock as well.

Second one:  has blonde hair, blue eyes (I think).  Haven't seen any confirmed reports of this one showing up yet.

Saga '02-'04 / Re:Can Someone Please Tell Me...
« on: February 2, 2003, 01:05 PM »
It's the Hasbro 10" vinyl figure line.  The Vader is definitely the most scarce.  The assortment consists of Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker (AOTC), Mace Windu, and Jango Fett with removable helmet.

These have been showing up at stores like Suncoast, Sam Goody, etc.

Saga '02-'04 / Re:Problems with Saga?
« on: January 25, 2003, 01:32 PM »
Availability has not been a problem in the SAGA line.  For me, at least.  There are only a handful of items that have been a little scarce, and it's due more to popularity than anything else.

I'd like to see the push button action features go away.  That's my only semi-major gripe.  When these features detract from the sculpt of the figure, I take a little issue.  The other ones where the feature is pretty well concealed are fine by me.

One more gripe....plastic strength on figures like the Battle Droids and Super Battle Droids.  Just a little too soft.

Lastly, the R2-D2's have been kind of sub-par.  I think we reached a peak with the Commtech R2-D2, and we've been sliding backwards since.

But, in the context of the entire line, I think we're doing alright.

I hope Aayla Secura is out by April so I can get Amy Allen to autograph one at the Chiller Theatre show.  :)

Collect All 92! / Re:Vintage Figures Which Have Not Been Updated
« on: January 25, 2003, 01:25 PM »
I'd add the Nikto and Barada to the debatable list.  Also, the Death Squad Commander was intended to be the Death Star Trooper.  It wasn't until POTF2 that the vintage error was corrected.

I like J'Quille.  While I really like the large aliens that we've been getting for Jabba's palace, I'd like one of the more humanoid sized aliens.

I'm sure we'll get Hermi Odle eventually.  I'd like to see J'Quille get the pvc treament first.

Power of the Jedi / Re:°*° Star Tours *°*
« on: January 18, 2003, 02:56 PM »
I got the first 2 waves of Star Tours figures through Disney Direct.  A word of caution to the MOMC crowd...their shipping quality is terrible!

I'm still very curious what the third wave is going to look like.  That, and the packaging are the big question marks for me.

There is one more:  do you think that R5-D4 will be as we saw him in A New Hope, or like the red trimmed R5 droid that's been pictured at the Star Tours attraction at Disney/MGM Studios?

Saga '02-'04 / Re:Jedi Padawan 2-packs...
« on: January 18, 2003, 02:47 PM »
I was pleasantly surprised to see the new 2-packs pictured online this week.  Very nice, indeed.

Now that these are on tap for 2003, I'd like to see a Screen Scene of the instruction/map room.  Integrate the star charts into a transparent ceiling, and include Obi-Wan and the padawn Liam.
