Power of the Force 2 / Re: Mara Jade - what's she worth?
« on: September 24, 2006, 07:27 PM »
I remember working at KB toys when we got a case of those (i bought a grand admiral thawn and a darktrooper from that case). from what i can recall, they all sold really quick when i put them out...i did manage to save the cardboard case that they were shipped in and still use it to store my POTF2 figs...it still has the kb toys stickers on the side of the box with the price and the date they came in (they are on all kb price stickers)...

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Have You/Could You Give up the Basic Line?

Actually Ewoks are planned for next year, hopefully the size of Chirpa.

nice, i'm looking forward to them if they ever get released. i'd complain about spending $7 on an ewok for the size and lack of accessories, but i figure it's cheaper than most kubricks out there (and is in exact scale which is pretty nifty).......

I gave up on collecting Hasbro SW stuff back when Phantom Menace came out. I actually made my first Hasbro purchase tonight, I picked up a Cheif Chirpa tonight because it's in scale with my Kubrick SW collection and looks pretty good in contrast. If Hasbro churns out more Ewoks/Jawas in that size I'll pick 'em up...but until then, I'll keep on what I've been collecting.

not yet...i haven't been to walmart in weeks though. i'm going tonight though so i'll keep my eye's peeled...the only unleashed figs i've seen there were some chewbaccas on clearance at walmart last month for i think $6.88 each (the one's with the green carded design) the last time i went (there were a few pegs loaded with them). i've seen the boba fett's and grevious' at target earlier in the week (the general looks to be the weak selling one).

Kubricks / Re: Attack of the Kubricks!

never tried it with blacklight (i have my Kubricks on display on a bookcase from Target)

incredible display, adam...i am very impressed with all the Kubs you've amassed (especially the SW collection)...all opened too!! i have to be honest...a piece of me squirmed as i was opening up my first chase fig (imperial officer/veers)...after seeing everything opened you realize how much these things need to be opened and displayed in order to fully appreciate the line itself. great job on the setup again!!

that set-up looks fantastic sithbaker!! i've got 2 ikeas about an hour and a half apart from me (in stoughton,ma and new haven, ct...about same distance from my house)...i was looking into the detolfs but the other case (i forget the name...it was $99 and was untreated wood) caught my eye as well and i'm having a hard time choosing between the two for my own collections (besides kubricks).

you did a great job setting those up...your collection is incredible (i don't think i even have 3/4 of your collection!!) and i love all those stormtroopers!!!  8)

nothing...it's bad enough SW got me into toy collecting in the first place. all those MOC toys that i've accumulated makes me think of all the wasted money over the years. i've must've spent a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff and it goes beyond SW stuff...like muppets. wwe wrestling, early movie maniacs, sportspicks, and other miscellaneous stuff. it's sad when i look at all the stuff boxed up in storage. the only stuff i've ever opened were my kubrick collection (which takes up alot less space). still, if i could've done it all over again, i probably would've only collected kubricks and higher end stuff like SW premium format line, MR lightsabers, or other items that would look decent in a movie room...

if the Sportspick line includes Joe Mauer, how bout other guys that are having career years. I mean look at Freddy Sanchez of the Pittsburgh Pirates, he was only supposed to be a back-up now he looks like he's going to win the batting title in the NL. Does he deserve an SP?? It's better if McFarlane waits on guys like Mauer or Sanchez to see if they can duplicate or have a decent performance the year after to gauge what will sell and what won't. Keep in mind Twins have a very good team but they are in a small situation just like the Pirates. It's one of the reasons why teams like the Twins, Royals, Pirates, etc don't have as many sportspicks as the Yankees, Dodgers, Mets, & Red Sox...

I personally love those PF format figs (although I don't own any) especially the Darth and Obi Wan. I'd love to add a few to a collection, but when it comes down to it...these things are huge and I don't have the extra space right now...I've seen them all (Luke, Han, Darth, Ben, Leia, & Grevious) at a comic shop on display and I was amazed at the sculpts (although disappointed with Han's and I don't know why).

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Gas Prices
« on: September 4, 2006, 08:34 PM »
Gas prices over here dropped 11 cents today (from $2.89 to $2.78 per gallon)...Just happy to see the prices go down, I travel back and forth for work and gas costs come out of my own pocket. My company won't pay for anything and they don't care if I drive 2-3 hours to a location for them. (they are a fortune 500 company...cheap SOB's)

Mine is simply:

Kubricks:

To complete my regular sets:
4-Lom
Zuckuss
Boba Fett
Obi Wan
Greedo
Tusken Raider
At-At Driver

Then I'll worry about the special sets and chase figs I'm missing...
