Toy Reviews / Re: Hoth Han (Blue) Review
« on: July 31, 2003, 01:23 PM »
I've got to agree with your review.  The most disappointing thing (once you get past the Action Feature) is the Stance.

Pros:

He comes with the best version of his blaster we have seen so far(if it is not Identical it is very close to the Endor Raid one)

I like the Hood Up (very Vintage)

The wrists and Elbows allow him to hold an Imperial Blaster in a "Hip-Shooting" fasion.

The Boots are well done

Cons:

THE STANCE

When the mask comes off, so does the brim of his cap..whats that for???

Lack of Leg Articulation (this could be a subset of Stance)

Much like Endor Raid Han, it was a figure that I highly Anticipated and one that disappointed  me a bit.(Endor Han did ALOT)

Thanks for the Warm Welcome guys!!

And JJ is right the Military Aspect of the Galactic Civil War is probably what kept me interested in Star Wars for such a long time...From Fancy Uniforms and Naval Battles to Rag Tag Groups and Guerilla Tactics.......

Thanks again for the Welcome!

Okay,

I collect Original Trilogy figures, the POTF2/POTJ/SAGA.  I am an opener and I have stuff that I WANT to Customize, but never get around to it.  I have a majority of my Vintage Figures from "the 1st Time around"...and after doing some research contrary to what my parents told my wife, I did not have EVERY figure, in fact, I only had 50 of them so I am considering starting back up collecting Vintage figures, but the loose ones aren't "Mine" so I may be forced to buy some really POOR Cards or Baggie figures.

I've also considered getting some of the "Busts" after seeing the Scout Trooper from the Comic Con.

Glad to be here,

Paul

The Original Trilogy / Re: Original Trilogy on bootleg DVD
« on: July 30, 2003, 10:09 PM »
I've seen the Original Trilogy out there as a bootleg DVD set for some time.  This weekend, I was definitely tempted to buy theatrical versions of the OT as a set for $50.  So, here are the questions:

-Are you for or against bootlegging in general?

-Do you have the Original Trilogy as bootleg DVD's?

-If you did, what did you pay?

-Did you get the Special Edition, or the Theatrical Releases?

And lastly, how long do you think it will be until the original trilogy comes out on DVD?

I am against bootlegging IF the item is available at Retail.  This is a question of somebody doing a Media Transfer...

Yes I do have the OT on DvD

I got it on Ebay for about $49 plus shipping

I THOUGHT I bought the NON-SE but I got the SE, I was under the impression the stuff was IN the US too, but it showed up from the Far East....

It will be too long before the OT is on a General Release DVD...

And as far as DVD features go, mine is in a whole 10-12 chapters not exactly the easiest to just JUMP to your favorite scene...And it won't play in my PS2, my Mini-DVD Player or my Laptop....only the regular DVD player.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Endor Troopers dissapearing?

Solo definately tells him that they will meet at the generator, and Now that I hear that a Prune Face can be seen I'll have to watch it real slow on the Bootleg DVD and see if I can get a screeen capture of it.  Somebody would have to tell me how to post it though....

The Original Trilogy / Re: Death Star Survivors?
« on: July 30, 2003, 09:44 PM »
Ok, I'd say that there were probably survivors from the Death Star...wouldn't they have recovery shuttles out getting Pilots or even Prisoners from the Starfighter battles?  Also what of the other Tie Fighters that Aren't in the Trench?  There might be a few more fighters around the place.

The "dramatic effect" argument works for me...we don't know how fast it took the whole thing to meltdown and explode.  But I wouldn't want to be the guy that Jumped ship and then come to find out, it was just a minor explosion and there I am running like a coward when Yavin IV blew up...

Tarkin: "Mundheim, why are you out in a shuttle with all the fine Silverware from the Officer's mess?"

Mundheim: "Sir, I brought it out to clean it for the Celebration of your victory of course, oh hi Lord Vader, I uh ...gurgle...."

The Original Trilogy / Re: Regime Change...
« on: July 30, 2003, 09:35 PM »
I'd say I'd be all for the Empire if I were to living in the Star Wars Universe.  I like Order, I like a Strong "State" (assuming MY particular interests are served by That State) and I like centralized Government.  I figure as an everyday citizen, I don't know the Emperor is a Sith Lord and the whole Empire is therefore Evil...

The Original Trilogy / Re: Favorite Imperial Officers!
« on: July 30, 2003, 09:33 PM »
You guys will have to forgive me, but I just got here so I have to play "catch up" with some of these topics....

My favorite all time Imperial is the "Holding her is Dangerous...." guy from the very beginning.  Sorry I don't know ANY name that wasn't in the Movies, on a Figure or in the X-Wing Rogue Squadron Books.

He looks to be a Jr. Officer, but he is the only other Imperial, besides Tarking to even attempt to tell Vader what to do.  I just think he obviously has more backbone than most of them who courtsey every time they see the dark lord of the Sith...
