Collections / Received My Acrylic Case's From Oscar.
« on: December 9, 2002, 06:15 PM »
I received my Acrylic Case's today from Oscar.

I ordered 2 Slim cases.
1 for my ESB FX-7 Proof Card & 1 for my 12 back R2-D2 card. I must say I am very impressed with them. Super thin & solid. Has a nice sliding bar just off the bottom to hold the card in & on the top rear, a nail hinge so it can be hung up on a wall.

As mentioned before, you can check Oscar's site out on his cases. You will not be disappointed.  ;)

Vintage Kenner / What Is Your Vintage Collection Dream Item?
« on: December 8, 2002, 03:20 PM »
What is your vintage collection dream item or items?

Guess mine would be to have a complete 12 back set MOMC.
Not to mention both POTF Yak Face & Anakin MOMC.
Though a Vlix  carded or loose would be fine.

Watto's Junk Yard / Magician David Copperfield.
« on: December 7, 2002, 06:02 PM »
I just got from seeing Magician David Copperfield here in Edmonton. This is the 5th time I have seen him live & in person. I must say if you have not seen him perform in person, go see him if he comes around.

The show was just over 1 1/2 hrs. Being a layman magician myself, I have an understanding of what goes on. But let me tell you, there are Illusions that still baffle me as I saw today. The audience had fum as myself. He performed various stage, close-up & comedy magic. A true entertainer.
From a card trick with alive Scorpion to Webster the duck. Passing his body through a solid steel plate to appearing from nowhere.
He made a real car appear on stage & vanished randomly picked members from the audience.

One of his Illusions called Portal, transports induviduals from the stage to a place of there dreams within seconds. This place was Hawaii. I was sitting in row 14 of the main floor just off to the right. A large platform with an audience member & Copperfield on it was move out above the audience & a curtain was drapped over them. Within seconds the curtain was pulled away & they vanished. Well let me tell you, you could see all around the platform & it did not vibrate with any movement. That platform was about 6 feet from me. Poof they are gone. Wow.  :o

Though all Illusion & Misdirection, it is amazing to see this live & in front of your face.

Just thought I would share this with you. It was really entertaining.

Now if I could only use magic to get the Star Wars collectibles that I want.  ;)

Vintage Kenner / Double-Telescoping (DT) Light Saber Set
« on: December 6, 2002, 12:05 AM »
Well now it has gone too far.
There on Ebay from another seller.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1924010251&category=2475

I have a set of them from ReValveiT for my personal collection.
ReValveiT is the person who originally had the mold made & Repro's of the 3 Telescoping Sabres made. His site is here:

http://www.dtsabers.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

There have been alot of questions about these sabers & having them fall into the wrong hands. There are no markings or lettering on the shaft. He was to mark them in away that it would show they are reproductions.

As mentioned, I have a set of them & they are the best repro's I have seen but when they do fall into wrong hands, they may or can be passed of to unsuspecting buyers that think they are original.

Just a heads up for those who have not seen them or know what there about.

Vintage Kenner / Warning. Fake DT Darth Vader.
« on: December 5, 2002, 10:05 PM »
Watch out for this seller. He has a Dt Darth Vader using stolen pictures.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1923830595&category=2475

Here's his seller's list:

http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=vermonttoys&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=25

The big tip off is his ESB R2-D2 photo which came directly from SirSteve'sGuide.com.
Not to mention that he has a Amazing Fantasy #15 first Spiderman with no reserve. NOT.

Stay away from this guy. Time to go back to work again.  ;)
