Coming this Fall to Target - the 6" Imperial Shadow Squadron Box Set.
Includes Special Black Ops Speeder Bike with Shadow Scout and Shadow Stormtrooper Commander.
Makes me wonder when we'll see a standard 6" Shadow Stormtrooper to join them. :D

I love the shadow stuff. I'm in for a few of these.
-
Wow. They're going to the Shadow scheme already? It makes me think that they're tooling budget might be really stretched thin. This set LOOKS cool, but the cynic in me sees this for what it is: a repaint set that's being pitched as a cool army building exclusive.

Me too!
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but if they have to do mix in repaints I am happy enough they went with these.

Less than a year in and they've used the Sandtrooper sculpt FOUR times, The speeder bike twice, the Clone Trooper twice, and Fett twice. They're clearly looking to squeeze as much margin out of this line as possible.
-
Yeah, what Rob said... I think they were looking to immediately start creating some kind of re-use base from their toolings ala the 4".
Though a friend did say to me via text during the show, "Wow, already dipping into the 'paint it black and call it something cool' gimmick" and I had to laugh a bit. It did take them quite a while to catch onto that hook in the 4" line, haha. That kinda stuff pays for new stuff though, as the lines go, so oh well.
-
I love this set, but it makes me want Hasbro to release more speeder bike variants in the 3/75 line.
-
Bah. At first I was tentative on the 6" line, then I was all in, now I'm not so sure again.
We're only seeing a handful of 6" figures trickle out each year - which I'm generally okay with. Now it appears that half of the "new" figures are purely repaints/kit bashed.
Love the all the "big" 6" stuff like the Tauntaun, speeder bikes, etc. Just wish they would go a little lighter on the rehashed figs.

I think this is just good business sense on Hasbro's part - didn't think I'd ever say that! Yes, repaints are underwhelming versus new figures, but they are light years better than repacks. I'll take different paint aps any day of the week over repacked 12" figures that clog the pipeline. They're ideally using the increased profit on these to offset the creation of brand new sculpts, so I'm glad they're getting a few extra dollars this way, versus going the comic pack route and saying it isn't cost effective to make new stuff. Beyond all that, I do think the shadow stuff looks cool. If they had a bright white Sandtrooper release, I'd go all in on that as well.
-
I am already cherry picking this line so it doesn't bother me too much. I would actually buy a single release shadow trooper though.

Already out of stock. :(
-
sold out in 90 min.
-
Wonder how many sold? If it's like most Target exclusives it won't be too hard to find, but that's still pretty impressive I think.
-
This has now been removed completely from their website. Way to go, Target...don't let anyone get your top secret exclusives. ::)

Got my set in the mail yesterday - looks awesome!

Me too. Had to use the hot water trick on the visor and handle bars as they were super warped but they are pretty now.

Did you just have to boil and it popped back or did you boil and have to move it back? My scouts are all bent up and haven't tried this yet.
-
I just ran some scalding tap water and submerged the head for about 2 minutes and it went back into shape without having to physically reshape it. Same for the handle bars.

That's what I was hoping. Sometimes physically reshaping doesn't go as well. Thanks Jay!

These are hitting stores atleast in the philly market but should be all over. Set date of 10/26. Dpci is 087 06 1202 I believe.

After looking closer at the pics, I'm impressed by the paint apps on the Shadow Squadron. It would have been easy for them to just do straight black across the board, but the use of dark blues and silvers is pretty cool.
Hasbro's pic with idealized lighting, but I'm hoping to find my own at Target soon:

Happened to pick one of these up in the middle of the afternoon yesterday. Almost overlooked it sitting on the bottom shelf of the end cap. Very cool purchase.
-
Did you get yours for $50? That seems like a pretty good price (the regular Scout and bike sell for $49.99 at my local Target in Canada).
-
Yep. $50 even.
-
I spotted these yesterday too. Dunno about everywhere else but these are NOT in the usual Star Wars section, but they have a special endcap for the Christmas exclusives. It had this set, the Marvel Legends set, a Dwayne Johnson WWE figure, some Minecraft stuff, etc.
The set looks nice (really nice), but I'm passing for now. I'd rather snag the regular Speeder Bike first.
-
That should be where they are in every store. That's the holiday plan-o-gram. Like I said, almost overlooked it myself.
-
Are these on sale at some stores now?
-
I wish I lived in the US. These sets always cost ridiculous money when they get to the UK market
-
Picked up a second set today with the 25% off Target coupon. Think I'm good on these now...
-
Target coupon?
-
There was a coupon in their big Christmas catalog that just went out for 25% off any single toy item. I believe it expires today actually.
