Philip suspended "BranNutz" for posting "Who is Darth Borat blowing to win every raffle he enters?" here.  DarthBorat was bragging that he's won every GG raffle for a clone commander so far (4 for 4) while BranNutz was posting how he hasn't won a single raffle for anything.

So, in a really whiny move, Darth Borat starts this thread just to cry about the quote.  This coming from the guy who can't let a thought pass through his head that doesn't end up as a post.  In the 8 months he's been there he's reached almost 3000 posts.  I swear when he came out of the chute back in December posting like that, I though he was Greenday.  Made about as much sense, but with better spelling.  Philip took notice and dealt out a punishment.

Anyway, BranNutz will be back soon and Darth Borat has marked himself as a :'(.

Always good times in the RS GG thread ;).  No wonder people are fleeing that board for GentleGiantCollectors.com

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What HDTV to buy - LCD, Plasma, DLP
« on: August 10, 2007, 04:28 AM »
You might want to think about viewing angle, space, and how bright the room is.  I bought a Philips 47" 1080p LCD at Costco early this year, and hung it on the wall of the family room.  We have a kitchen with joined family room (a big 14' x 35' room) with a lot of south facing windows, so it's pretty bright in there.  The LCD handles the bright light conditions well, has good viewing from anywhere in the room, and is big enough to be seen well from the far end of the kitchen.  To me, it seems with a lot of projection DPLs you have to be sitting directly in front of them with your head as high as the center of the screen to get a nice bright picture.  With you head higher or lower than the screen, it darkens considerably.  Test this out at the TV store you visit.  I think you'll find LCD is the way to go.

Interesting times in the RS GG forum.  RS member "hunt4bounty" posted that he had 3 spare Bly bust for trade (here) and was promptly scolded by RS moderator "threedarths" to leave some for the rest of us.  Then threedarths is stupid enough to create a post in the GG thread whining that he was having a hard time with getting paid for the 4 he sold on eBay (here).  Didn't take someone long to see he was selling them for $220 each!  The war rages on, Philip has yet to weigh in....

And you thought the all caps threat was f------ funny.  The art of cursing properly

So who's going to be the first to reply to Amir with "F--k that sh-t!"? ;)

EDIT - Nevermind, just noticed he posted it as a locked topic.

Oh, and DARTHBORAT has only been reg'd since Dec 19, 2006.  Of course, in the 90 day since then he has 1600 posts.  Putting him on ignore really speeds the time to read GG threads.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Gas Prices
« on: March 18, 2007, 04:35 AM »
I've seen some places here in the LA area where it's even higher.  I just came back from Phoenix, AZ, and the gas prices are $0.40 lower per gallon.  There's got to be some gouging going around here.  What's the deal?

Well, it doesn't explain the whole 40 cents, but over half of it is due to Arizona's lower taxes (see chart).  Maybe the rest is the cost of the special CA blend :).

If the IT department was doing it, they would probably re-route you to monster.com ;)

Working OK for me.

Perhaps you allowed your cursor to hover over one of the many damn annoying double underlined advertisement popups, and clicked on that instead.

I so hate the RS homepage now, I feel like I'm navigating a mine field just trying to click on what I intended. >:(

The reason I went back over there is due to the fact the GG section has more traffic. But now that's marred by everyone's drama with one kid.  ::)

Talk about a cesspool devoid of moderators, the kid's latest tactic has been to title his replies "[censored] REBELSCUM! GO TOO YODA'S NEWS.COM!". ::)

Link Here

Then some new guy shows up selling a Red AOTC Clone bust and gets accused of being the kid, and after several reports to mods it's still running here.

I think Yodasnews new gentlegiantcollectors.com site will be seeing a lot of new traffic.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: TSC Figure Protective Cases
« on: August 22, 2006, 04:04 AM »
Still looking for feedback if these will fit Ephant Mon.  Also wondering if they will fit the Battlefront Scout Trooper ???

They will not fit the Battlefront Scout Trooper, the card is too tall to fit in the star case.

I bought 25 of the Cagno cases and love them for TSC except for the fact the front of the case is rounded instead of flat, so they don't stack worth a damn.

I bought 70 of the newest Hasbro cases and I'm not crazy about them.  They fit okay, but I'm even less thrilled about them now that the SDCC 501st and Shadow Trooper have come out.  These exclusives (and buffalo wings Grievous) have cases that are thinner (less deep) then what Hasbro is selling by the 10 pack.  I like the exclusive case because being less deep, I can get more in the same storage container.

Here's your chance to stuff the RS ballot box for Willrow Hood.  They just launched a front page Probe Droid poll asking which April Fool's Day gag figure would you like to see made.  Myself, I voted for crispy Owen/Beru, but I have two more votes using my other PCs.

You had an extra Http:// in there, I fixed it for you  here

Thanks Smartypants.  The Add URL feature on this site isn't as easy to use as the one on RS ;)

efranks, I searched the RS rules and FAQ but didn't see any age requirement.  One rule against posting explicit images cites "younger" members as the reason.

I logged out of my RS account and clicked the register link (as a new member would).  It asked for my birthdate, so I entered an age 8 birthdate.  It accepted it and moved on to the create login screen.  I didn't see it through to create an actual ID.

Here's a RS thread where Adam_S admits he's 12, after posting that he thought a bunsen burner was a bong.  ;D

I saw Dustin twice at Comic-Con.  The first time was at the Fan Film Awards where he introduced a category winner.  I thought there might be some booing, but from my seat up front I didn't hear any.  The second time was at the Fan Breakfast.  At my table, no one even knew of the controversy, so I educated them and told them to get to JediDefender.com if they wanted to know what was really going on ;).  One person at the table worked for Official Pix and when she mentioned Philip owned that, everyone but me said that was news to them.  No one at the breakfast booed Dustin or asked about the contest (except one guy who wanted his bounty T-shirt).

One funny from the Fan Breakfast, after Dustin was introduced he was asked to draw a raffle ticket for an Obi cookie jar, and he drew his own number.  A few people chanted "fixed", and I think it was Sansweet who later said about it "great, more controversy". ::)
