Crosby also has better back up than Ovi did.

Wow, really that down on the Caps already Ed?  Like I said man, welcome to 1993...  We got dumped by an 8 seed that year too, and had a vastly more dominant team than really anyone in the league that year.  It was sickening, but we still were a great team and should've won but just didn't.

The Caps have maybe the most depth of any NHL team right now for scoring though, even the locals said it, and all the locals felt the Caps were the team to go through in the playoffs this year (myself included), so I wouldn't dump on them so bad...  They lost a series.  If anything I think I saw coaching errors more than player errors.  I don't know the shots-attempted stat, but if the Caps had adjusted their game instead of trying the same stuff I think they could've won it regardless of Halak's play.

The Caps aren't well liked here so nobody was shedding any tears locally, but that doesn't take away from them as a team I think.  They floundered in a series, but how many teams would take at least 50% of them if they had a chance, ya know?

The whole problem is that they had a 3-1 lead, and were putting a ton of shots on net, but most of the shots were garbage.  Also quite a bit sad they would limit the shots by the Habs, but they still were able to score.  The Caps had a great season, but completely blew it in the playoffs.  Heck, they had a 2-0 series lead last year on the Pens and did not even show up for game 7 at home.  The Caps only lost 5 non OT games at home this year and went 1-3 against the 8th seed.  It is just extremely tiring to see DC sports teams fail in this manner.  It is easy to get used to the failures of the other major sports teams in DC because they have consistently failed in the past 10+ years, but the Caps were supposed to be one of our bright spots and they just couldn't get it done.

Game 7 did certainly have player errors, namely Green.  Stupid crosscheck penalty lead to the first goal, and he completely missed a check on a guy for the second goal.

I've always said I thought Ovechkin was better than Crosby.

I am here to eat crow. Clearly we know who the big game player is and thus Crosby (as much as I can't stand him) is the better star.

He sure can't grow a playoff beard though...I shaved five hours ago and have more of a beard now than he does.

Really, Ovi's stats for the playoffs were about the same...5 goals and 5 assists to Crosby's 5 and 9.  Ovi did have one extra game.  Crosby also has better back up than Ovi did.

Way to **** the bed three games in a row Caps!   ::)

Green was the dog last night for sure.  Stupid penalty for the first goal and completely missed the guy on the second.  Ovi can't do everything.  It would be nice if someone on the team could have scored a goal in the past three games.

I think Washington may be the new Philadelphia in terms of a championship drought.

Wasn't that the Sara Jane wedding episode I heard about? I think the Doctor even mentioned it during Tennent's last episode.

I believe so, I think it was a two episode story arc (as most of the Sarah Jane episodes are).  He had a cameo in the first episode and guest staring role in the second.  I really should track these episodes down sometime since it was an OK show...not as good as Torchwood, but I feel like I've missed something in the Doctor Who universe without seeing them.  It isn't like SyFy is flooded with original programing that they don't have room to air it.

In the second series of Sara Jane, didn't they get rid of all the kids and replace them with other actors?

That is what I have read...they may have replaced them with other kids.  I know they replaced both the girl across the street and her dad.  I think they may have replaced the other kid that hung out with them.  Sarah's son did remain in the show.  Tennant did a guest appearance in Season 3 and Smith is supposed to do a guest spot in Season 4.

I kept waiting for Doctor Who to come back to Sci-Fi SyFy, but I guess at this point that's not happening since it's playing on BBC America?  I may have to track down the seasons on DVD and catch up on this show.

   E...

I don't think SyFy will be getting the series back...they didn't even get the series of specials to end Tennant's run.  I was surprised they got in over BBC America in the first place since Torchwood was on BBC America.  I guess the internet is probably the only place where we can see the second and third series of the Sarah Jane show either.

I finally got a chance to watch the new episode last night.  I think Smith did a good job...he feels like the Doctor.  I also like the Amy Pond character, I think she will make a good companion.

I liked the continuity bit at the end where they showed the ten previous Doctors.  A nice call back to the Christmas special as well.

Why not just make this set a Deluxe Battlepack a la the Target exclusives with the AT-ST's?  They should be able to throw in a few pillows and a jawa with a fan (c'mon, just repack a jawa with a new accessory).  Then they are at the $50 price point and could put in a few extras for us.

Tonight was definitely this season's "I call bull****" moment.

I agree....seems to be the most incompetent mole ever.  What has she really done to help the terrorists, especially while she had to deal with her ex for half of the season.

I am hoping this isn't an early April Fool's gag.  This is one of my top wants for the 12" line.  Hasbro never got around to this figure and I'm glad SS is making one.

Do you have a link to the video?  I couldn't find anything searching the site.

Since I still needed the Republic Star Destroyer (Acclimator I think?) set, I just ordered that on-line since it was free shipping with a purchase of $100.  They won't let you order the figure on-line, but it did show up in my basket with the lego purchase.  Now, I hope it actually shows up on my doorstep.

Torchwood is back with a five part mini-series for this year. I guess we will finally be losing Captain Jack at the end of the show to make the show more family friendly for next year. I guess not a bad move as long as the stories don't suffer. The story is about Gwen anyway. Maybe Martha will show up? Its starts July 20th on BBC America. I believe it will be shown a little sooner in England. I also hear the Easter Doctor Who special willl be shown around then too on BBC America.

A completely stupid idea to lose Jack...I would disagree that the show is about Gwen, if they ditch Jack it will be since she will be the only original cast member left besides Ianto.  Making it more family friendly will lose its entire audience.  It was never meant to be family friendly.  That is what the Sarah Jane Adventures are for.

I just got back. I dunno, it was definitely the worst Terminator film yet. But it did have some cool stuff too, I'd give it a solid B.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW!

-I think they tried way too hard to throw in nods and references to the other films. Sometimes it worked ("I'll be back") and other times it was just plain stupid (I think the Arnold 'cameo' looked horrible).

-I didn't like Christian Bale as John Connor. I agree that he still sounds too much like Batman, and it really didn't look like he gave a **** through the whole movie, so that was disappointing.

-The Marcus character was cool, but I saw the heart transplant thing coming from a mile away.

-That actor who plays Kyle Reese (and Chekov in Star Trek) is great, but I think he was really underused in this movie.

-The battle stuff at the beginning kinda sucked, but the battle at Skynet at the end of the film was awesome!

-Here's my only question: So is the cancer lady that was talking to Marcus at the end a T-1000? I didn't really understand her role.

END SPOILERS

Overall I liked it for what it was, but it just didn't really feel right. Meh.

I believe the cancer lady was what she appeared to be...someone linked to the science organization working on using human parts to help people with terminal diseases...her company either purchased or was bought out by Cyberdyne.  Her appearance as Skynet, was just a way for Marcus's human half to identify with Skynet...I don't think it was the intention for her to be Skynet or a T-1000.

Wow, with that rant on the webpage quoted a few posts back.  Is he mad that this movie wasn't set like what we saw in T-1?  He has to remember that the events of T-2 and T-3 erased that future.

Overall, I didn't have a problem with the movie.  This movie was never going to be a favorite of the critics, but I don't think it should be trashed like it has been.  Ultimately, this movie was a set up for a 2nd and 3rd movie in a new trilogy and I think it did a good job of doing that.
